Germans committed many crimes not only on civilians but also Polish soldiers who surrendered and had a status of POWs protected by international laws which Germans had also adopted. About 2000 Polish POWs were brutally murdered by Wehrmacht during the campaign.

E.g. in Ciepielów Germans executed about 300 Polish soldiers.

Yes, I have just provided you three key arguments why Poland can`t expect compensation from Germany.

1. The case was settled in the past.
2. Poland acquired Eastern Germany with Wrocław and Szczecin.
3. PIS is spinning anti German and antiEU campaign.

The fourth one is that it was mainly modern Germans who promoted our accession to the EU. Most other countries were sceptical.

You can only blame imperialist Germans for that. They lost the 1914-18 war which they had started so they were duly punished. Isn`t it simple and fair???
