in as much as this running debate between Gumishu and Pawian is very interesting and, at times, enlightening(for this American Polonian), it's at the same time very sobering illustratrating the deep divisions that exist between brother Poles :) Makes me a little sad.

This country is corrupt - you can see it every day on the TV - every day there is story of fraudulent or unsympathetic official including judges - it's enough to see Interwencja on Polsat - this is what makes me sad (so many people suffering because of it or having to pay bribes)

Come on, what debate, I have made only two little posts in this thread by Gumishu. :):):):) This one is third.

it's at the same time very sobering illustratrating the deep divisions that exist between brother Poles :)

Forgot American elections last year? I suppose the divisions in American electorate are the same or even greater.

You simply seem to idealise the country of your forefathers. :):):):) But we are not some sort of Eden, sorry, we are just like other countries. Normal, I mean. With dirty deeds by stupid politicians etc.

Makes me a little sad.

Don`t be sad, the fact that we argue and have different opinions means we are still alive. We will be fully united and agreed in the cemetery.

This country is corrupt -

Neither you nor PiS are able to get rid of corruption because you are morally corrupt yourselves. PiS politicians have proven it many times and today they are trusted only by 25%, mostly undereducated Poles who are unable to reason for themselves.

they had a common purpose namely resisting communism right?

yes - precisely

Yes and no. People seemed united because they had one common enemy - communism and its representatives. But the very moment the system collapsed, all those who had fought against it and seemed united on the surface got divided and that was so natural.

Now you seem to idealise the communist times. Funny, isn`t it? :):):):)

- politics and the media that are brainwashing people

Only stupid people allow to be brainwashed.

Those with a bit of intelligence are able to draw conclusions for themselves.

That's probably true.

Come on jon you are the one who are extremely biased in your views. You are dogmatic more often than not

Neither you nor PiS are able to get rid of corruption because you are morally corrupt yourselves. PiS politicians have proven it many times and today they are trusted only by 25%, mostly undereducated Poles who are unable to reason for themselves.

You are talking rubbish as usual. 25% of the voters not out of the general population.

they had a common purpose namely resisting communism right?

it is not about a common purpose from the past. It is about present of the country and the future. Interest of the current establishment in Poland are exactly opposite to the interest of the country. Meaning they are not an elite but parasites. Why many voters are supporting them? they established kind of the mass media block and if you are not that interested in politicos and listen to main stream TV and radio you are fed rubbish. Also by now after 290 years of so called transformation many groups in Poland has an vested interest in supporting PO.

Don`t be silly. We are talking about getting power through democratic elections where voters decide.

Ooops, I am really sorry, I didn`t mean to annoy or offend you in your own thread. Please, forgive me.

raise by a mother and father who worked for communist political police

I'm not sure how I feel about this.
If I found out that my parents did some sh!tty things at work, I would not like it if I was held responsible.
With judges though, there is such thing as conflict of interest.
Are you saying there is a conflict of interest?

Konrad Piasecki.

I like this journalist. He is intelligent, witty, knowledgeable. Always prepared and very professional. Outgoing and humorous.

Gumi and Iron, and a few other maniacs who can read Polish, read his blog about stalinist methods used by other obsessive maniacs:

I am sickened when I see how somebody`s parents are used to decide about person`s credibility.

When will you understand that such methods will never allow PiS to win any elections?

they established kind of the mass media block

Meaning that in whatever corner of Polska B you find yourself, you for sure can receive radio maybach?
Ironside 53 | 12,422

And Nothing else than said mass media block to be sure.

I see how somebody`s parents are used to decide about person`s credibility.

That is just but indication, one of many of somebody credibility.

? The SKOKists are financing the whole Polish extreme-right, and with radio maybach combined...what do they have to complain?
That more people buy GW and not a smolenkist rag? That more people watch TVN24 and not tv maybach?

Spot on. They really do believe that everyone should think like them. Hence making issues about public figures due to who one of their relatives was - as if Judge Tuleya has any control over that whatsoever.

Merged:

Judge Igor Tuleya: Patriot or PiS Traitor?

Having compared the NYT article on the above gentleman with articles from "Wprost" along with "Polityka", I wonder how my forum colleague feel about this lone soldier of right, desperately trying to fight for judicial independence.

As always, I'd be most interested in your thoughts on this.

He is still suspended by PIS judiciary. Against the Polish and European law. One day PiS scum will pay for their illegal acts, I hope prison sentences are inevitable. Poland must hold second Nurnberg trials for those criminals.

He is still suspended by PIS judiciary.

That is terrible, that man should be fired long time ago, or jailed.
