You've drawn some wild conclusions based on that.

I thought you would have got this information from your clients, so let me provide some basic education. During a election campaign there is no pozycja libero. Everything that a party member says during an appeareance on an important tv show will have been provided by briefing notes and talking points from party hq. There will be many

If you think I have drawn wild conclusions, then please place a bet with yours truly about the appearance of senior PO people at the parade.

Also, Anna Mucha is in Polska 2050 now, not in PO.

I wrote former PO Posel Mucha if you care to read.

I thought you would have got this information from your clients

What "clients"? What are you talking about?

Everything that a party member says during an appeareance on an important tv show will have been provided by briefing notes

I think you overestimate the level of preparation of Polish politicians for such TV shows in Poland lol Poland isn't the US (or Australia). Also, you can't possibly predict every single question the host will ask or how the discussion will evolve. And this "important TV show" is an everyday morning political show, every big TV station has it and politicians attend them on regular basis. It's not like it's some kind of important election debate.

If you think I have drawn wild conclusions

I think you actually lied. You made it look like PO officially announced an all PO party boycott of the parade, which is simply not true. Your "conclusion" is just a guess - nothing more and that's how you should've have portrayed it the first time you wrote about it.

then please place a bet with yours truly about the appearance of senior PO people at the parade.

Gajewska isn't a senior PO member and she said she won't take her son to this parade. So she was talking about attending the parade as a private person. As for senior PO politicians - are you talking about them being on that parade officially or privately? Because if you mean an official attendance then they would have to be invited. Were they invited?

I'm guessing there's going to be one PO politician for sure - Tomasz Grodzki - because he's the Marshal of the Senate and he's going to officially represent the Polish Senate at the parade. He should get an honorary spot together with the Prime Minister and the Marshal of the Sejm. Both the Marshal of the Senate and the Marshal of the Sejm are going to be there to represent the Polish Parliament - all the MPs and senators.

So far, it looks pretty good. We're off for lunch with friends in a while but are avoiding the city centre since the crowds for this are huge.

What's been on TV so far is impressive.

Błaszczak must

Many say that and there's some merit in it, however it's not a good time for sudden changes with r*SSia putting its boots on for a fight.

I liked that idea with GROM soldiers "gliding" in the air on parachutes with Polish flags attached to them - that was cool :)))

Pity there were no reenactment groups on the parade though :/ They're usually the most fun to look at, especially for kids...

Stupid warplanes going over my home!

Awesome! :D Did you make videos?

The commentators on Polish TV said that apparently some Ukrainian TV channels were going to show this parade too. Here's a coverage of the parade with Ukrainian translation and commentary:

Of course. Some pieces of armament, e.g, Abrams, were carrying Ukrainian banners next to Polish ones. Small, but still.

Pity there were no reenactment groups on the parade though

I was looking forward to it, too. History is more attractive than modernity. :):):)

Stupid warplanes going over my home!

Thank Goddess they weren`t warships!!

I wouldn't go that far, but those reenactment groups are defenitely more colourful and an interesting addition to such parades :))

Thank Goddess they weren`t warships!!

@pawian, I didn't look too carefully, but I remember seeing those pennants with other colours too on those military vehicles. If that was some kind of gesture of solidarity with Ukraine then all vehicles would have blue and yellow pennants, but it wasn't the case.

Also, all mechanized units in the Polish army have blue and yellow as their colours.

Putinist Russian commentator said about the parade:

This is an attempt to demonstrate Poland`s capabilities to Russia and Belarus (...) I believe that Poland is trying to show everything it has received, hoping to put pressure on its neighbors.

Minsk is part of the federal state. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the territory of Belarus will be defended in the same way as ours. We will not be afraid of this show of strength. We are waiting for it. If Poles move (to Belarus - ed.), their equipment will burn , even those made in South Korea, he declared.

Amasing!!! :):):)

Allies in celebration
The parade on the occasion of the Polish Armed Forces Day was also attended by soldiers of the allied forces - Americans, British, Croats, Romanian and Italians. American Abrams tanks (the ones in the latest version that we ordered and are waiting for delivery), Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Paladin self-propelled howitzers, British reconnaissance vehicles, Romanian Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and Croatian Panzerhaubitze 2000 guns drove along Wisłostrada.

There were Americans in the air on F-35 multi-role aircraft and AH-64 Apache helicopters. The Ministry of National Defense emphasizes that both types will "soon" appear in the Polish Army.

Another controvercy.
A mine detection unit paraded with their dogs in the scorching sun. Animal welfare activists and pet owners heavily critisized this idea.

Because on this day, in 1920, Polish armies successfully repelled Bolshevik troops attacking Warsaw during Polish-Bolshevik War.

This story was filmed, here is a trailer:

A mine detection unit paraded with their dogs in the scorching sun. Animal welfare activists and pet owners heavily critisized this idea.

Yes, some argued, for example, that they could put doggie shoes on them, so the dogs wouldn't have to walk on hot asphalt "barefoot".

According to the Armed Forces General Command they were being taken care of:

"We took care of the doggies' safety. Before the parade they were cooling off in the shadow with cold water, the asphalt was cooled off* for them before their march and the veterinarians, who made the decision to allow the dogs on the parade, were present there all the time and were watching over them."

*Water was poured on the asphalt street a few times before the marching started.

doggie

Admittedly, it wasn't a good day for a parade not only for dogs, but also for soldiers in full gear... 🌞🥵

but also for soldiers in full gear

Did you hear soldiers complaining? No. Do you know why? Because they realize that one day they might have to fight in even higher temperatures, for even longer, under enemy fire, also in full gear. The same goes for sweet doggies. This is army, people, get a grip.

Did you hear soldiers complaining?

Yup. Not on camera, obviously :)

Because they realize that one day they might have to fight in even higher temperatures, for even longer, under enemy fire, also in full gear.

Yes and some say that this is what they signed up for and not for parades in scorching heat on the day of their supposed holiday...

This is army, people, get a grip.

Listen, I personally don't have anything against military parades and I think it was cool that they've included military dogs in a parade, because I don't remember that happening before.

Obviously, soldiers are usually tough people and are accustomed to difficult weather conditions and for many it is a pleasure and honour to take part in such an event. It doesn't change the fact, though, that it s*cks when a military parade is taking place during such weather. That's all. Soldiers are human beings too :) So, I'm just sharing the sentiment of some soldiers - I've never taken part as a soldier in full gear in a parade in hot sun and I can only imagine what it's like :) Take it easy, Kania :))

Excally, or free those dogies and put a collar on your kids instead. WTF?
Those are military dogs they are there to die if need to be. I doubt such a millitary dog could be trusted if military treat them crueally.
