Access to Archival information in Janow Lubelskie

I am looking for a way to access archives in Janów Lubelski where I believe my father came from. I know very little about him other than his name, date of birth and the fact that he came from Janow Lubelski. He came to Australia after WW2 as a displaced citizen together with my mother and brother. Can anyone help me with information as to how to go about getting documentation about him? I would be extremely grateful.

write some details about your father (name, surname etc.). Actually, there are 2 registers(also archives) in Janow Lubelski (one in the city council and second in the old church). None of them is on-line. So I u want to find out sth, give us more data.

My father's name was TADEUSZ WOJCIK, born in Janow Lubelski - or at least on the documentation I have, it just says "Janow" and I know he is from Lublin so it must be Janow Lubelski - and he was born on the 3 September 1922. I do not know anything more about him except that he had brothers which means I have/had uncles somewhere and probably some cousins. Again, many thanks for the responses. Dziękuje bardzo za pomoc.

OLD TOWNS IN JANOW LUBELSKI

Hello...my Grandmother's family came from the area of Janow Lubelski, in the province of Lublin. I have found an ancestor's marriage record from 1744. However, it lists the town of marriage as SYLVA. I have not been able to locate that town on a map. And another town from that branch of the family is shown as BORY, which is another town that I can't locate. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of these old towns or have they disappeared over time.
