Where would you take foreign guests for Polish food dinner in Krakow?

Where would you invite foreign guests for dinner to taste delicious Polish cusine in Krakow?

My take is now Miod Malina.

What would you recommend?

Wierzynek was not to be missed years ago, a place with great tradition... not sure how it fares today?

yes yes yes!!! This is a super restaurant with amazing atmosphere. great choice!

To Mc. Donalds, KFC or Italian. At least they won't experience culture shock.

It's true. Americans invited to a typical and delicious Polish dinner won't appreciate it at all; their stomachs are just not adjusted to new kind of foods, such as fried cabbage or golabki, potato salad, or sledzie (herring). You'd be better off serving them food they are familiar with.

They'd be better off staying in their own country then. Nothing worse than tourists who complain about the local food or aren't prepared to even try it.

I wouldn't choose to eat either of those dishes but there's plenty of other Polish dishes to try.

Exactly,I can't eat Tatar but Flaki is OK with me.But why does Rich(Novichock)focus on those dishes do you think?

There are so many great Polish restaurants in Krakow that it seems unfair to list them but I liked Czarna Kaczka and Kuchnia Polska Gąska.

Because they're the dishes least likely to appeal to the average tourist and he wants to give the impression that Polish food isn't good.

Depends on which Americans.... lots of Americans love experimenting and trying new foods.... how do you think things like sushi or fajitas became popular.

The key is not to overwhelm them with too many weird things at once.

And lots of American tourists like bary mleczne.... Bambino in Warsaw almost always has foreigners stopping by despite the very user unfriendly approach to everything. I've heard Americans liking the food fine.

As always, you are spot on!

Depends on which Americans.... lots of Americans love experimenting and trying new foods

Of course, we shouldn't generalise and I am as guilty of that as most people.
The key is not to overwhelm them with too many weird things at once.

I reckon that's good advice.Americans have got influence of foreign food but not as much as Europeans.

At least in my experience, as with other nationalities,
Polish food in Poland tastes far different from in the US!

Once sampled what passed for chlodnik and bigos at some generic
Greenpoint eatery a few years back.

It was practically inedible. The only decent part of the meal
was the Warta mocna. Ya can't mess up beerLOL

Can only say that it must have been the regular cook's
day off:-)
