maintain European societies

Maintaining societies is the duty of us all.

End of womens' rights, gay rights, secular education, return of slavery

Has this happened?

No country, including the US, wishes to be seen as simply a way station,
a pit stop along the highway to prosperity.

Poland's no exception.

Look at the countries they're coming from. In every country they arrive in they try to impose their own norms....

Why would they stop?

In every country they arrive in they try to impose their own norms....

What do you mean ? What things bother you so much ? What are the values you care about so much ? I have 4 - rule of law, democracy, personal freedom and a free market. And they are all still standing - in fact I see far more of a challenge coming from right wing oddballs and quasi religious nuts than from migrants.

Really I am a pretty right wing person but this constant whinging about migration is a real turn off.

They build some mosques ? Big whoop - who cares ? Churches are still available for anyone who wants

They eat their own food ? Big whoop - I can get Polish food whenever I want and in France, Germany, Italy there are always loads of local food options

They listen to their own music, watch their own tv ? Again who cares

As long as they fit into our electoral and education systems and work then I am generally OK with it. Certainly tired of the old white moaners using this issue to hijack almost every other debate.

What are the values you care about so much ?

Civil society (quick over-simplified definition: "the elements such as freedom of speech, an independent judiciary, etc, that make up a democratic society"

Equality between the sexes

Equality before the law

Separation of church and state

Freedom of Expression

Secular education

Low crime and effective police

The migrants flooding into Europe at present have major gaps in some or most of those areas... and do not respect those values and want to impose their own

Hierarchical relations betwen the sexes (and minimal participation of women in public life), rights by religion, legal norms by religion, restrictions on free expression (blasphemy laws) and the crime rate of migrants are off the charts compared to the indigenous peoples of Europe.

You're okay with Rotherham?

Non-western migrants in Europe commit rape at 580 % the rate of the original populations?

You're okay with that?

Just because it hasn't affected you yet doesn't mean it won't....

We haven't heard from the guy for about a week, so either he was caught by the Border Guards/Police or already in Deutschland hat die Vorsehung ihn geborgen.

But in Poland all of those things exist and where they have been challenged it has been rather by Polish "patriots" than by migrants

And it is the same in all Europe's democracies. Except Britain where church and state have been combined for centuries

No I'm not in favor of rapists, Rotherham etc and someone needs to deal with it, but this migrant issue is dominating too much of our political processes, at the expense of more useful things, and letting all kinds of creeps and losers close to power bt playing on the fears of the old and resentful

Civil society

You won't be able to explain it to a poor post-commie peasant who thinks he is great and knows everything because he managed to earn some money.

I've been following the story of non-western migration to Europe since before 2010... it's been a rolling disaster everywhere it's been established.

someone needs to deal with it

Exactly. But a lot of people think it's being dealt with when it isn't.

Poland is not affected yet partly because of the weak social benefit system and the fact that those who arrive are mostly here to work.

But how long will that be the case?

I've been following the story of non-western migration to Europe since before 2010... it's been a rolling disaster everywhere it's been established.

For who ?

Not for me - I have some inconsiderate migrant neighbors but apart from that I have made money and hired new people from the opportunities and I quite enjoy the more cosmopolitan Poland

Not for Poland - living standards and all economic measures have improved hugely since 2010

Rest of Europe - well it's patchy but doesn't feel disastrous.2010 we were told the Euro would collapse, followed by the EU. Neither has happened. Paris and London and Frankfurt have not burned down - they remain very in demand places to live and work

If you are a person who sees everything through a lens of discontent then probably it's a rolling disaster. Quite frankly i am getting sick of the grumpy old reactionaries moaning about this and making it a wedge issue

Nominally. In reality, today it's one of the most sane and secular countries on the entire continent. In comparison, Poland might as well be a Catholic theocracy. No abortion, gay people treated horribly, crazed zealots across the land inflicting their beliefs about a man in the sky upon the rest of the population.

examples?

Are you joking?

Someone like Grzegorz Braun wouldn't be allowed within about 1,000 nautical miles of the mainstream of British politics. Yet in Poland he runs around spewing anti-Semitic, Catholic Taliban nonsense and Polish society is entirely unbothered and in fact gives him more than a million votes.

Poland and the US are basically the only western countries that actually give creatures like this the time of day. Says a hell of a lot about those countries.

No abortion, gay people treated horribly,

Those are the good things...Now name the bad...

BTW, how do you want Poland to treat mentally ill people who like spreading their illness everywhere, including kids, while claiming they are normal?

If they were normal, Poland could be 100% gay and still be just fine. Right?

There are two kinds of atheists. Those who want to eradicate religion, and those who simply don't believe in God, but still respect the believers.

Which one are you?

He's Jeremy Corbyn compared to basically everyone in the Polish right and you know that. PiS and Konfederacja figures regularly come out with some crazy **** that would get them cancelled in Britain, Scandinavia or Canada, but for them it's just an offhand remark on a Tuesday. Your president is a football hooligan known for taking part in organised brawls in the woods FFS - it's a wonder you let him out without an electronic tag on his ankle and a curfew.

Really? Tell us where the custom of shaking the minister's hand after services originated? When the minister was checking attendance and reporting it to the state. Lol!
Being delusional is one thing, but being clueless is another.

Indeed, but hardcore Taliban or other Muslim crazies would be protected by the British state. Don't you have a feeling that there is something rotten in the state of Denmark?

Any sources for this conspiracy theory that you seem to have pulled straight out of your dupa? Communism must really have traumatised you people if you manage to find such a dark and cynical explanation for a simple handshake - no wonder Poland is such a zero-trust society.

Btw, if we're talking about sinister rituals, you still have 'confession', which is basically a way for the church to extract kompromat so they have leverage over a person - something routinely practiced by cults the world over. "Tell me your secrets", says the creepy man in a position of authority. "You can trust me - I won't use them against you".

Being clueless suits you perfectly. I won't shatter your worldview, a worldview of a simpleton.

talking about sinister rituals,

Sinister are your masonic ceremonies where you suck each other dicks and keep quiet about it. Talking about creeps.
---
Defending Muslim hardcore terrorists and persecuting Christians is a standing policy of the present British state. Worry about rituals, your head is deep in your own dupa.

So no sources then, prick. Of course.

Sinister are your masonic ceremonies where you suck each other dicks and keep quiet about it. Talking about creeps.

I'm not a mason but I'm pretty sure that isn't part of it - wishful thinking on your part? Bit of an obsession with men sucking each other's dicks? Within many a Polish homophobe is a secret raging queer who'd love to come out - I guess you can't even tell your creepy priests about it in 'confession', right? Don't worry, I'm sure matko and tato will be dead soon, if they aren't already, so you'll be free from their baleful gaze and you'll finally be able to live your life as yourself.
Torq  22 | 1945

What nonsense.

You can go to confession in any church you like, where nobody knows you, and you don't give your personal details to the priest. So how can your confession be any sort of "kompromat" if it's made in complete anonymity?
