Poland history is a country that has been continually crushed and conquered by its neighbours, it relies on western europe to survive.

And once again you prove that you know nothing about Polish history. So what's new?

Only this morning I parted with 150 PLN for routine blood tests.

lol, you may want to tell forum members what it cost to be treated in the USA, and how much you pay for health insurance. You have it good in Poland

Actually, something can be learnt from every nation. Amerindians never even invented the wheel, but they were way ahead of the so-called enlightened West in terms of ecology. They used bows and arrows to kill only as many buffalo as they needed for food, teepees and clothng and let the rest roam free. The advanced Westerner with his firearms destroyed the buffalo, stripping the hides off millions and leaving the cadavers to rot. Who was the more advanced?

Well its a well known fact that the USA has the worst health care system in the world where by only the rich actually get any decent treatment. So, no i dont want to go there. Im used to countries with free health care where the basic right of any individual is to be medically treated by their own country for which they pay taxes in.

If they are abroad they should also have national insurance to cover health care which their country of citizenship pays for.

dtaylor... do you have an alchohol problem?

Not true...

If people do not pay taxes are they exempt from health care? I guess we'll find out in America; Obama's wealth redistribution program will test this theory.

Actually Polonius, the Bankers on Wall Street and Bush and his cronies have done the same to the American public, life carries on and nobody learns.

No, and i didnt suggest otherwise I said "im used to" read more carefully next time. In any case im from a country which has free health care for all regardless of where you are from, employment status or any other detail for that matter. 10,000 Poles had free abortions in the UK last year alone.

Obamas wealth distribution program! He needs to succeed where Hilary failed, take on the health Insurance companies and bring in a health system free for everybody. Most powerful nation in the world with no free health care! what a joke.

OK well thats my opinion please elaborate on why you think this is not true. Lets take the average trailer trash family with no health insurance. How do they recieve health care in the US?

Fact; what is your source for this fact?

No, and i didnt suggest otherwise I said "im used to" read more carefully next time.

I asked a question; I did not assert that you suggested anything..

The joke is that you think universal health care is free.

Everyone is free to think and have his own beliefs.

If I were you Polson, I would not even waste my time, or knowledge of history on this "sorry little man" When not spending his time reading downmarket tabloids, he is down the pub reciting everything of an intellectual nature he has gleaned from this forum to make himself look good. Believe me!

Free in my country, regardless of wether you pay tax revenues or not

Where is it stated that the health care in the United States of America is the worst in the world?

I think you need to interview poor US citizens for that info. Are you proud of Americas health system?

Of course its not the worst in the World lets say the worst in the wealthy industrialised nation category.

That poll would be biased.

Are you proud of Americas health system?

No, it can be better.

Where is your source stating that the health care system in the United States of American is the worst in the industrialized world?

I dont have a source at the moment and I cant be bothered to look for one, its mostly my opinion based on what I know, have seen and read. As a Polish decendant Im sure you feel a sense of loyalty to your adopted nation. I can also see like most Americans you are totally defensive of youre country even if youre country is at fault.

My belief is that Americas health system is corrupt with the insurance companies and crooked government officials being the main profiteers. Stop nit picking and being petty and just admit it.

The richest country in the world with no free health care, what a joke. Im sure you have youre own health insurance so no problem right.

According to the latest data published by Eurostat, Poland will need 55 years to catch up with the standard of living in Germany.

This sounds like a typical German bulls--t. They think everywhere in the east is a s--thole. If you read "the Guns of August" by Barbara Tuchman, you can see how the Germans used to see themselves in 1914, i.e. the most advanced of all nations, socially, politically and materially, but in reality they were 50 years behind the British in industrial development and probably a century in democracy.

You can see they haven't changed much if you have many German friend (I do) regarding the way they see the other nations.... My German friend told me that I was going to hell when I was taking up a job in Poland. One of them has once said that the bullet trains in Japan are copies of Western technology. I readily pointed out that the railways in Germany were first built by the British, thus are imitations of what Stevenson has achieved.

After living in Britain for seven years, I've become very anti-continent. Sorry.

Of course the UK system isn't perfect - paying for prescriptions in some parts of the UK is an example. But the basic ability to get a doctor when you need one, irrespective of who you are is a good one.

You are living in a dreamland..... yes doctor in some areas available with a few days notice....till this time someone dies or recovers- like in the lottery.

NHS is just dreadfull!!!!!!.
After living Poland I thought that it is bad health system in Poland but I changed my mind now. UK- Dirty hospitals, old people dying as noone bother to feed them clean them, shortage of doctors, midwives, nurses....Visit to doctors time limited, doctors limited with theit prescriptions.

Let's throw it out there, what does the West have that Poland doesn't?

Noone replied to it....

Did you ever stop and consider that it is the richest country in the world because it doesn't give away everything for free?

I can also see like most Americans you are totally defensive of youre country even if youre country is at fault.

Typical bash America thread from a stupid Limey.. A person who owes so much to the "mongrel" across the sea. Pathetic.

Edit: Actually veterans get free health care and there's quite a few of us.

I once came off my motorbike in Manchester, because the Labour-dominated council had installed a totally useless traffic-calming device in a very deserted part of the town without any lighting after dark, and went to the Manchester Royal Infirmary (on my own because the 999 didn't respond at all). I had to wait for two hours, only to hear that I'd have to come back in one week. A week later, the doctor showed me an x-ray photograph, which was a week old, and said that it was a broken collar bone, which of course was. Six weeks after that, I went back there, just to find out that my reservation had been cancelled. Two weeks after that, I went back, and found that my bone was already more or less all right. I knew it, because I was already using my left hand to ride another motorbike.

Where has all the tax money I paid in Britain gone to?

Because that one will turn into a never ending argument. Next time i have a few hours and more importantly around 8 beers next to me ill take a shot. Perhaps start a thread with the same title.

You're interjecting your opinions onto me in order to support your unsupportable contention.

I'll save you the research time: The United States does not have the worst health care system period; end of story...

Here is another fact: Free health care is not free.

I also have no problem what so ever in criticizing my country when I feel the direction of my country is askew.

As for alternatives to the US health care system, that I believe is in need of reform, I've found two model systems:

Singapore & Switzerland - BTW, neither are universal or free.

Singapore: econlog.econlib.org/archives/2008/01/singapores_heal.html

Switzerland: healthcare-economist.com/2008/04/23/health-care-around-the-world-switzerland

easy with the cheap shots Wahldo, if you can discuss then by all means take part if not you probably should get back to WWF.

Really. 10,000 Poles who had abortions in the UK last year would probably disagree.

Depends on which way you look at it.

The answers are obvious, so lets just leave it at that. I have more important things to attend to.

someone has to pay, its prob taken out in taxes like anything else..

my question is, why dont you debate a little more nicer, you act like were bothering you when you come in here to have a discussion at least make your point and stop acting like we made you come here.. if you have more important things to do then dont come back.. otherwise join the discussion and thats it!
