people make friends entire life... but it's very hard to find a real true friend, and it doesn't happen often...
it's a difference... a friend as kolega/koleżanka and a true friend as przyjaciel...

friendship of one person is irreplaceable...

true friends are the ones that leave footprints in your heart ... :)

that's so true...

thank you :)

life astounds us, we meet many people, but the best friend is only one... the truth is that everyone will leave us someday and we must accept it, i wish you to be strong and don't forget to remember her :)

<virtual hug>

A really good mate of my husband's moved from Machester to California about 7 years ago, so we only really meet up about once a year, but we always have a riot whenever / wherever we meet up and pick up the banter from where we left off.

Flight prices are becoming more and more affordable, and where would be be without skype?

wow thats kinda serious, i thought a best mate was somebody who would always stick by ou through thick and thin, the kind of guy you would trust your life with. I've got that type of mate, met at primary school at age 5 still best of friends now at age 23.

but the best friend is only one

that is not true. one at a time maybe.. as others have said, people come and go and so do friends and buds. eventually one will have another best friend.. sure it will be different but nothing in life is stagnant. or just get a dog. :)

Better to have had this special friendship , and been parted , than not to have had it...you will always be friends...nothing will change that....visit them as often as you can...you will have lots to talk about.....

no actually i agree with Panienka in a sense, as i have always had the same, 'best friend'

after some time they really are only an aquientence. think about it.

i've thought about it and i still disagree, the ages that best friends usually drift apart are between 15 - 21 something like that when the most changes happen in your individual lives

My two best mates, ones in Australia for a year and ones training as an officer in Sandhurst for months.

Yeah...it sucks.

thus far. i've had a few best friends over the years. people move, people have families.. there are many reasons why one will have more then one best friend in their life.

i've thought about it and i still disagree, the ages that best friends usually drift apart are between 15 - 21 something like that when the most changes happen in your individual lives

so you actually agree then. :)

most drifting apart happens after 22 y of age if one attend a uni.. if not then after 18-19.

Meaning of friendship?

Being able to be completely open and honest to one another, understanding eachother, appreciating a sense of humour in eachother, willing to keep a secret, being forgiving to one another in case of mistakes, trusting in being in good company, feeling safe around eachother, helping eachother out when problems come up, sharing with eachother, caring for eachother, looking after eachother, having eachother's back, standing up for eachother, protecting eachother..

That's what I would call friendship..

My the best friend ever is going back to Poland... We will be in touch, but it will never be the same... I feel really sad last three weeks, and i feel like everything else around me is falling apart...

So yeah.. I understand it's tough when your going to have to miss something valuable like that. May take some time before you find someone else who has the same or atleast similar qualities.

But, I'm sure you two will keep in touch no matter what and I'm also pretty sure you'll meet new people and make new friends..

That's life sometimes.

I don't know what I'd do without my best friend. I knew her from before primary. She was always on/off best mate - but when we weren't, we were still always extremely close. She's like a sis, without all the family arguments.

I'm sorry that has happened to you. All you can do is make sure you can keep regularly in touch and meet whenever you can. It's so sad.

the ages that best friends usually drift apart are between 15 - 21 something like that when the most changes happen in your individual lives

I had two like that, my mistake was losing touch.

There is only 1 person u know ur whole life, and that's u. When u cease to know that person, u know that sth is amiss

So i see it depends on the person. You are able to choose a few best friends, but not me. I have many friends which i really like and i'm closely, but the best for me is only one. And i can do more with this one than with others and i know we will always help each other. This friend is the most similar to me and i can't imagine that i could meet someone better. I think it's my nature i must find one best friend and be for him.

yeah maybe a little double standards there, but your not the only one who thinks that a best friend is 'one' person, i have believed it since i met my best friend at the start of school, he is still my best friend now, the only thing i would say is that a girl/boy can't be best friends, it just dosen't happen

oh, i'll disagree with that too. i have had a couple of female best friends. one i ended up dating for a long time as she was that great.

I don't rate my friendships. No particular person is my best friend. It has been this way since I started going to a different school to my then best friend (I was about 12). I do have very good friends though, I have lost a few over the years, and gained a lot more. Some of my friends have been girls, but I didn't want to have sex with all of them.

i won't feel the same both my friend (girl) and my husband

ow right, lol, i thought you meant your friend was a male, not that i thougt he was your future husband etc. I think Arien thought the same as me, that your best friend was a man as you said 'him' :) never mind its just that tired thing again:)

PG It is really really tough. And the last time my world was falling apart you totally were there to help me through it.

You will keep in touch, and when you are together for visits and such you will pick up right where you left off. You will make new friends and you will slowly fill the void, but in the mean time just hang in there.

You have us to lean on. :-)
