UK, Ireland / Poles in Ireland, are they second class citizens? [90]

We went through the meeting up once every month thing too but can't stand being apart anymore.

We had originally thought of her coming to Ireland mid March but each time we met we moved it forward until it's happening next week. I have some of her clothes in my wardrobe at home and it feels lovely.

I have found my girlfriend to be the most loving person i have ever met before.

Deano dude I hope things work out well for you two too.

UK, Ireland / Poles in Ireland, are they second class citizens? [90]

Have you lived in Northern Ireland Deano or going by what you read in the media?

I am a Protestant in Northern Ireland and treat people equally, be they Protestant / Catholic / Muslim / Jew... whatever colour or creed, and always have done.

I employ Catholics, Protestant, Polish, Portuguese, Romanians, Hungarians, Czecs and all are treated equally on pay and conditions.

God help those I find mistreating anyone in my employment.

Ireland is like any other country, we do have a racist eliment but they are in a minority.

My girlfriend is Polish and Catholic and nobody could love her more than I do.

:o)

Love / Is it worth it, is my Polish guy trying to avoid me??? [49]

it's simply a case of sms going missing!!!!

Hi there, if your read my posting it explains why it's probably gone missing. It will turn up when the newtork feels fit to deliver it. Orange in the UK is good to send SMS to Poland because Orange have their own network in Poland. I had the same problem and it freaked me out.

Glad everything is ok between you both. Long distance relationships do need regular communication to keep them alive. Hope it continues.

PS Ignore Marek S because he struggles to deal with people actually being optimistic :o)

Love / Is it worth it, is my Polish guy trying to avoid me??? [49]

From what he wrote this morning, he is just as worried as to why I haven't replied - it seems we have both sent each other messages but they have 'gone astray'.

Hey there, i had the same problem before Christmas with SMS from UK to Poland. I am with Vodafone at they work with a different network provider to the one my girlfriend uses. This being the case her network provider was under no obligation to deliver my sms and under no obligaton to deliver hers to me. I bought an Orange phone which partners with Polkatel and had no problems. I hope it is as simple as that for you.

Work / "Ethnicity" form - Polish Europeans? [77]

I think I know what covkid means by this.

As an island race we feel a little detatched from the whole european thing. We don't even use the Euro... I suppose in fairness neither do the Polish.

A lot of people in the UK if asked would say they are British first and foremost then European.

But hey that doesn't mean anything sinister... we all pay our taxes into the Euro pot.

Love / 5 months with my polish girlfriend now she's pregnant ! [21]

but were strong like rum so we will get through

make her feel special and keep talking... don't bottle anything up.

Seemingly unimportant little problems ignored now can turn into huge festering relationship breaking problems.

I can't stress this strongly enough because i don't want you going through what i have been through.

Look after her and love her always dude.

Love / 5 months with my polish girlfriend now she's pregnant ! [21]

We did say if its a boy then we would have english first name and a polish second , and if it's a girl the reverse,

That sounds pretty cool... i will keep that in mind myself.

My 1st marriage broke down because we forgot about each other when we had kids so we grew apart. I won't make that mistake again and my advice to you is learn from my mistakes.

I am maybe getting a little away from the point of your posting but I wanted to help you the only way I can.

Good luck to you both and I hope you have many happy years together.

Love / First time meeting Polish girl question... [23]

she simply did not want to meet you.You simply pressed her too much and aranged the date to get rid of you and then sent her friend to notify you

you can not say that when you were not there dude!!!

I'm sure this guy is a normal person or she would not have given him any time in the shop.

I think it's worth his while and if he's going to call her then she must have given him her number... Seems like she liked him to me!

UK, Ireland / POLISH STUDENT MISSING IN YORKSHIRE UK.... BODY FOUND.. [26]

My thoughts are with his parents, Christmas is a terrible time of year to lose someone

Yes our thoughts should be with the family and not trying to apportion blame to one nationality or another.
