Genealogy / Need help with new surname, DOLENGEWICZ [4]

Guest
Nov 4, 08, 21:20 Report #2

Anthony and Elizabeth Dolengewicz had 13 children. I am the daughter of their son Jerome. My name is also Elizabeth after my aunt and grandmother. Anthony was born on the boat from Poland and immigrated to America from Canada. We have his immigration papers. They eventually settled in Jamaica NY and then Patchogue NY.
Hope this gives you some direction. Not sure where you are going with this.

Sorry it took me so long to write back, Anthony and Elizabeth are my great great grand parents.

Genealogy / Kołakowski - Russian records to Polish or English [5]

Barkko, Where in Poland were your family from?

On April 6th, 1906 Teodora came over to join her brother Stanislav Roman. But when Teodora came over, She was not alone. It appears that she was traveling with a possible cousin, Helena Kolakowska, They were both going to the same person, Stanislav Roman in New Hyde Park, Long Island, New York.

Yesterday, 21:40 Report #21

Hi,

Are they limited to baptismal certificates from NY, or do they have some for the rest of the country?

Basicly I knew the church where things took place or i found out where they were living at the time and called the churches near by.. Also called the Polish american hall to find out Polish churches in the area and I was told about St. Hedwigs church in floral park so I gave them a call and gave them the dates I had and withen 2 weeks I got the certificate in the mail.
