USA, Canada / Polonia in USA - Happy 4th of July! [42]

How much has the lineup changed?

The group still looks and sounds fantastic. Philip Bailey does have a magical voice.
I just wish Maurice White was still performing. He was absent due to his struggle with Parkinson's disease.

USA, Canada / Polonia in USA - Happy 4th of July! [42]

How hot was it?

I believe today it hit the 100 degree mark. Yesterday some parts of the Inland Empire hit over 108 degrees.

My dog is sitting on my lap petrified, from the loud noise of the city's fireworks show. It
finally finished a few minutes ago.

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

I do enjoy the freedom of being single and independent.

At times I feel it would be nice to have someone to come home to. Someone to comfort me, after I've had a bad day, instead of just my Chihuahua being there for me.

Love / Are men more unhappy about being single than women [47]

[quote=Amathyst] Are men more unhappy about being single than women
Amathyst

I'm not quite sure whether either gender is more unhappy about being single.
Recently I had been casually dating a very nice Polish guy. The only problem is he was getting very serious, much too quickly.

After just a few dates he had already told me the L word. In a sense I was flattered. At the same time it made me run in the opposite direction. I like taking my time when entering a new relationship.

He's always had long-term relationships. Perhaps he doesn't like to be alone. I suppose he feels he must be in a serious relationship at all times.

I hope he NEVER discovers this forum, or I'm dead meat!

but sadly chihuahuas are from Mexico....:(

I know they're from Mexico. Lately they've also become a very popular dog to own. They are now very much of a part of American culture.

Food / Polish romantic dinner (suggestions)? [30]

No matter what you make your wife for dinner, try spicing up the meal with something chocolate for desert. It's a wonderful aphrodisiac!

Genealogy / Looking For Polish girl Ivana (Yvonna?) living in Amsterdam...Please. [8]

she doesn't really look "Polish

I didn't know we Polish women were supposed to have a certain look about us. I've seen some of my ancestor's photos. Many were beautiful women with dark hair and dark eyes. However, they certainly didn't look Italian.

Food / How is vodka consumed in Poland in bars and restaurants [21]

best drink for me is 100 ml of vodka +200 ml sprite

Vodka & Sprite sound like an interesting combination.
How about changing the recipe around a little: 200 ml of vodka + 100 ml Sprite??? WOW!

USA, Canada / Americans who call themselves Polish - how do you feel about that? [112]

The American accent is the most easily distinguished accent in the world, even easier to recognize than a scottish accent.

Oh, okay... if you say so??? I suppose that's why when my relatives and I travel abroad, people are usually not capable of distinguishing which country we live in.

You're generalizing too much dannyboy.

Aha! You've been Americanized....

That includes you too homeboy!

USA, Canada / Americans who call themselves Polish - how do you feel about that? [112]

If their mother was 1/6 polish and their father was 1/6 polish, they would be 2/6 polish =1/3

:-)

Correction: The offspring would also be 1/6 Polish.
1/3 total contributed from both Polish parents x 1/2 (or.50) = 1/6

LOL, I can't believe your trying to deny that an American accent exists.
There is nothing wrong with having an accent by the way, everybody has one, regardless of your nationality.

Bye, I have to go and answer the phone with my American accent.

USA, Canada / Visiting Chicago again in a few weeks!! [19]

Anyone willing to help me find some good places to eat/go to while there?

I don't live in Chicago. However, my relatives like to eat at Bobak's Restaurant,
