Travel / Will my rented car be stolen or broken into when in Poland? [24]

If you can avoid driving in Poland-then do. The Poles love to drink and drive and they 'run out of road' so often. Hiring a car can be expensive too but an Opel Corsa does not sound like a luxury car to me.

Language / Adjective and adverb comparison [19]

bardziej krótki, najbardziej ładny?

In that case does such frases as 'mam wielki rower' or 'mam wielki dom' sound better?

You can of course simplify the process by using words such as bardziej and najbardziej before the adjective.

UK, Ireland / The best place to buy a house in the UK [120]

One of the best places to buy a house in England is Dover because there is a port and you can escape quickly from all those hoards of Polish coaches full of Poles invading our once beautiful land.

Language / (part 2) Polish Language Pronunciation - Sample Words and Phrases [311]

If you have the ń at the end of a word and not the standard Polish or English 'n' then you must pay attention in the declension system as dzień becomes dnia in the genitive singular. The Polish town, Poznań becomes Poznania in the sense of ja jadę jutro do Poznania. The Polish letter ń can represent nouns of both masculine and feminine gender. When a noun ends in ń and is feminine the genitive is ni.

Feedback / CLOSING THE TRANSLATION THREADS [55]

ope she doesn't end up in jail with your translation of official documents ...

Why, have you ever seen them? Anyway, a lot of Polish translators in Poland are simply ex Polish school children who have studied English at university and have no idea of the complexities of the language themselves.

aven't you ever heard of the sworn translators

Yes, and some of them in Poland are rubbish. In fact, I am helping a lady in Poland who has documents translated by a so called sworn translator and the mistakes are serious. Poles do not know English nor understand our culture.

What if a less than qualified translator gets there first?

Everybody on this forum is unqualified. Who or what is a qualified translator?

UK, Ireland / Polish girl married a British guy - when will she become British citizen? [29]

ell, the point is that they want to go to Australia and becoming a UK citizen will m

This is really very much what I expected all along from the start. These Poles are very clever and manipulative and know how 'to start the ball rolling' as it were. I would never trust a woman like that. Wait until she gets her greedy hands on an Australian passport and its 'do widzenia'!! Opening up th eE.U. now presents an epidemic around the whole World as the influx of Poles now corrupts mankind in every sphere around the entire globe. At some point in time, the Anglo Saxon races must come together and form a bond against the ever greater flow and tide of Roman Catholicism emulating from that vile country Poland.

Australia / Polish postal services - parcel delay sent from Australia [13]

Things do go missing sometimes with the Polish postal service. It might arrive and it might not. When the Polish postal staff see a foreign parcel with foreign stamps it might make them think of redelivering it to themselves! Sadly, it does happen.

Language / (part 2) Polish Language Pronunciation - Sample Words and Phrases [311]

W is always like the hard English V as in vinegar except before a sort consonant so ja jestem w Warszawie will be hard like an English 'v' sound but ja jestem w Częstochowie the 'v' will become an 'f' sound to make the joining process easier. Try saying v Częstochowie. This linguistic process happens and takes place in all Slovanic languages, even the Russians accept this practice.

Real Estate / Crazy House crazy times Sopot [9]

It all just goes to show what a strange defined form of capitalism exists in Poland today and why I want nothing to do with the flaming country either for myself or any member of my immemediate family.

also find Czestochowa to inexplicably have the prettiest women in Poland.

I do not know if this is true really. I am sure that there are pretty young women all over Poland and not just in the cities. My wife comes from Częstochowa so I must have good taste in women!

against russians, but if they are all like you, then it has to be the most pathetic nation I have ever heard about. But i guess it's just you.. getting excited writing bullsh*t about Poland, at least as long as nobody knows

They certainly ruled you for long enough and they only gave you back when they had enough!

It might also help to explain why they are so cleaky and are always found to be in groups. The Roman Catholic school forgives them for everything, which might explain why their social skills are so very poor.

Love / I have met a wonderful Polish woman, but she has a 9 yrs old daughter [66]

suppose some people mature later than others, im 22 and i think im a bit more mature than her. but then a Polish friend of mine who is about her age found herself in a simular situation, though both her and her husband came to uk with their daughter. He controlled her a lot cos she had a thing with another bloke back in Poland (they only got married cos she got pregnant), they stu

You have to remember that Polish people do not mature any where so quickly as their English counterparts.

Travel / Czestochowa - what is it like? [30]

Czestechowa is a vibrant city. There are many reminders of the Soviet rule

We are talking about Częstochowa in Poland not new York U.S.A.! Częstochowa is a Polish town-it certainly can not be described as a city be it vibrant or not. Besides from the long Alley called S. Maria and the Monastery there is nothing of interest in Częstochowa. There is a college or two but no university. There are even two railway stations but the second one looks like a coal yard! A sad dirty town with high enemployment. The young have fled in their thousands to live and work overseas. I was in częstochowa not so long ago and I went and met a friend of mine and she said "napewno to miasto spadło na psy" her own words. In short, its a dump.

Travel / Czestochowa - what is it like? [30]

Can someone please tell me what it is like to live there? Is there much to do there?

Yes, I know the place very well indeed and you should avoid the place 'like the plague'. It was not so bad before but is very depressing now. It used to be an important town being like a little 'capital' town of its area but since they have redistributed regions, Częstochowa has been downgraded and they say that petrol costs more there than anywhere else in Poland. A sad boring concrete block sort of a place. The name sounds cool the place looks however, in reality, disgusting.

Love / I have met a wonderful Polish woman, but she has a 9 yrs old daughter [66]

Even if one girl would steal something from some guy, that wouldn't mean all polish people do something like that. And I doubt it, that an 8 year old would be capable of "stealling all someone's things and money". Some people really shouldn't been allowed to use Internet...

You would really be surprised by some of the experiences that I used to have in Poland many years ago and believe me, even as guest in someone's house you would be even more surprised by what young children can do. From a children's psychological point of view it would be interesting for you to see at what a young age, children learn to lie and hide their guilt.

Love / Polish women are the best!!!!!! [77]

nse the presence of a hen-pecked husband here?

Not in the slightest. Hold on, I must run in to the kitchen and look for a bandage, that cut lip of mine is bleeding again. I really must learn to watch my p's and q's in front of my wife!
