They can be demanding but, then again, so can many people.

Demanding is not necessarily bad. Did you know it's the ambitious, demanding people who actually get somewhere in life? Why do you want to talk people out of qualities that can help them succeed?

Oh and as far as comments go I've heard people say negative things about others, it's common. They say it in English right in front of others who speak the same language, especially where I'm from. They can be rude over here. Rudeness and bad manners are universal.

That's good news! Maybe the better conduct will help ease some tensions?

The main problem is that she has a polish boyfriend (and has done for 3 years) and she has told me that they don't do much and that she is confused. She also seems to be very insecure and can't accept why I like her over other girls and worried that i'll get bored of her etc.

Well this sounds to me like both of you are insecure with each other. You do not present yourself as having a lot of faith in her or her in you. She thinks you like other girls over her and she is seeing another guy. The only way to set things straight is to have one of those heart to heart talks. Tell her you are ready to ditch the other chicks but she gotta ditch her other guy for it to work.

It gets overlooked in the EU because there's too many aggressive countries. Germany, for one. When you are in a league that includes Germany, France and Great Britain, it's hard not to get overlooked. It's all about the ego of nations, ya know?

It's so typical for Polish to get pi**ed off just about anything and this what I like about you.

Oh please. It's not about Polish getting pissed off. It's true for several nations in the EU. Britain, France and Germany run things, more or less.

proof you are committed to EUROPE (not the US)...till then...

BB that's just an excuse. Your country and France need to step away every once in a while and let the spotlight shine more on eastern European countries. Don't be stingy! It's got nothing to do with who supports the US and who doesn't! It's a European trend that one can spot from way back so you can't blame us! Western Europe wants everything while Eastern gets very little.

They should act in their own self interest. BB you are out of touch with reality. You want to take the good and turn it into some kind of mediocre acceptance and apathy. It's time for Germany and France to give Eastern Europe their turn. You guys will learn to share some, eh, BB?

I don't think it's because of the priests, it's Catholicism and Christian ethics that clash with their morals. Many people have a hard time living up to the high standards. They want to be freer than religion allows. Priests included. People have issues with the idea that you can sin over and over and always be forgiven, too.

Dentists are the only ones who are paid to do a BAD job.

Polsky, sounds like you might be finding the wrong dentists. I found a pretty good one by looking in the phone book but the hygienist is so-so. The office I go to hired a new one and she did a great job scraping around the gums. The hygienists are the ones I wonder about. Some are much better than others. I often wonder if they all have training as hygienists because some of them do hardly anything while others scrape the teeth really well and you can feel the difference a day later.

Maybe you should get referals? If you can find good referals, chances are you can trust the dentist.

It's got nothing to do with luck. You should get referals. If your teeth are in bad shape be prepared to pay a lot tho. Anytime teeth need lots done to 'em it costs a lot. Sometimes people will say forget it and get them all pulled. I live in a place where a lot of people have bad oral hygiene and it's really gross. A lot of them never see a dentist when they are young and by the time they are twenty or so they need a lot of teeth crowned or pulled or something and they don't have the money to get all that work done. Best thing to do is brush the teeth, floss them, get them cleaned every 6 months so this situation never happens unless you want a lot of agony later.

All that aside we all know the truth about Gdańsk. Germany wanted it to keep Poland from getting ahead. Germany was in a frenzy trying to figure out ways to keep Poland from becoming an economic force in the region so they pounced on Gdańsk. It's glaringly obvious and quite simple to detect the real motivation.

Germans had enough they didn't need Danzig. It was selfish greed on their behalf to demand it!
Poland needed it to help their struggling economy.

Danzig was Prussian for a long time, PP. Look at your historical sources. 997 AD is accepted as the year of its formation. Was it Polish then? Or did Bolesław's army lose and try again in 1015? You tell me.

True, but it has a Polish connection too and Poland was in greater need. Otherwise it wouldn't have gone to Poland in the first place.

The Polish government wanted to force the Germans to take on polish citizenship or to leave...a forerunner of the later ethnic cleansing.

Why not take on Polish citizenship? Why is it such a big deal anyway? With a little diplomacy it would have been a non issue.

If the city belongs to Poland there has to be some kind of compromise. They have to take the citizenship because they are in Poland. I don't see it as being unreasonable when you put it in context with the policies of other nations.

Seanus, there you go again. We aren't the world's policeman. We didn't police the Danzig situation. It just happened :P

It doesn't matter if Germans occupy the town. Would you give LA to Mexico because of all the Mexicans who speak Spanish? Who lives there isn't really an issue if you compare it to other countries and their policies in such matters. With your logic US would give Houston to Mexico.

Erm...Poles are currently "occupying" Danzig..Some Germans want it back, what do you think should be done with those Poles?

I think you should just leave things as they are and quit changing things all the time. You think changing a border makes a difference? Why do you think we never do that in the US? It's a bad move, meine freunde!

LA is all Mexican surrounded by Americans. That sounds about right. We are keeping LA anyway because it would pathetic to lose it based on that fact - there's a bunch of Mexicans living there. We need LA and Mexicans can build up their Cancun. Mexico has lots of great places to build on. All they gotta do is put forth the effort. Mexico has plenty of land, better weather than the US, nice ocean front property. They have no excuses.

Well...that the people in Versailles didn't was the starting point of WWII.
It wasn't the people of Danzig who changed the borders...

That was at a time when everything was so arbitrary anyway and I am sure there was ample reason to change them. It was to help one country who was struggling inbetween two aggressive ones.

Yes, we changed them in the past but not recently because it tends to annoy people :D

They were looking after their best interests, can't blame them for that! You should have let them have it awhile, build up their economy, then try to get it back later :P

nope but I wouldn't mind to take Mexico instead since we already have so many Mexicans here ;-) Besides before we give it to the Mexicans, we would have to give it to the Irish, Scots, Welsh, English and Germans since those are our true ancestors if you go by the percentage of immigrants who created our country.

Yep might as well take the census report and give away the entire country based on that :P
