Love / My Perfect Love Story so I thought [73]

You are overreacting! She's a liar and a cheater so **** her right in the ear! Let them laugh now because the last laugh is on you, they were sick enough to build up their relationship on somebody's hurt and it won't do any good for themselves either. Trust me, just think that and suddenly you will realise you are such a bigger person than they are. You will meet somebody better surely, anything is better than a cheater. Forget her! Good luck!

Life / You know you're Polish when... ? [111]

Jul 17, 09, 17:36 - Thread attached on merging:
You're Polish if...

- You have relatives who aren't really your relatives
- You sing the same song - “100 lat” - on every occasion (weddings, birthdays, baby showers)
- You don’t feel the need to add an "s" to "pierogi" because you know the word is already plural and it annoys you when others do. However, you still add "y" to already plural english words... "chipsy", "dzinsy"

- You have an awesome accent
- You can spot Polish people like Asians can spot each other
- You were extremely surprised to learn that English weddings last hours, not days
- When you hurt yourself, you don't say "Ouch", you say, "Awwa"
- You ever played "na trzepaku", "w gume", or "w Pomidor"

History / Did General Kriskrosnowski really exist? [11]

General Kriskrosnowski" c. 1870. Is that even a Polish name?

I'm not too bad with Polish history but never came across that name. Kris might be a nickname (they were often used by soldiers) and Krosnowski sounds like a Polish last name.

Language / Things Polish people who speak English language say [180]

Kids make hilarious mistakes, I remember my pupils saying "grandpartners", "open the widow", "T- shit", "My mom's got back hair", "I please you" and many more. Oh, I love kids.

Language / Example sentences for different cases. [42]

Why does luty become w lutym?

Although it's a noun it declines like an adjective. Apparantly, the word comes from an old Polish language and means "cold", "freezing" but since this word is not being used in this context anymore but only as a name of the month, it became a noun.

Nominative – luty
Genitive – lutego
Dative – lutemu
Accusative – luty
Instrumental – lutym
Locative – lutym
Vocative – luty

It might be the meaning. I didn't search for an answer, I only said what I remembered. It surely is an adjective not used anymore.

Love / Polish girls devils or angels? [15]

Not girls I would want in my life.

Yet you ended up on polishforums.com. Maybe it's time for you to move on and get over Polish girls?

News / I am so proud of Poland [16]

I lived with a Jewish family for a year. It was the worst time of my life.

Why? You didn't like the kosher food?

I have had no problem with their food or themselves running around in their yarmulkes, hats, beards, wigs and God even knows what else but when they told me off for using a diary plate for chicken and they threw it away, or when I was told by one of their kids I'm an animal as I don't make a Bracha (don't pray) before my meal, it made me feel slightly unwelcome.

According to their believes, Rabbi couldn't touch me, (I'm a female and what's even worse: a goyische) so each time he was passing by, he would try to be as far from me as he could with a disgust on his face. It is actually funny when I think of it now but trust me, didn't feel right back then.

Simply not knowing their rules (because they didn't care to inform me) I used the microvawe to prepare meat. Afterall they were all very upset and told me they need to go through 'an exhausting process' to make a microwave kosher back again. From that point on I gave up eating in the house, unless they told me to make a dinner for them. I honestly suppose everything in their life was depending on religion, including microvawe, apparently.

Do you want me to continue? I could probably write a book...

Oh, and why did you stay FOR A YEAR if you didn't like it so much from the start?

Long story and quite a personal question. I fell in love with somebody and living with them was the only way I stayed near that person. Everyone makes mistakes, eh?

Jump Bunny, I didn't ask for your opinion.
Why did you give it?

Neither were you asked. This is an internet forum and everyone is entitled to express their opinion.

Why did you give it?

Because you are not the first guy on this forum who keeps coming back after they broke up with their Polish girlfriend. Didn't you realise it was your loss? You did otherwise you wouldn't have come back there.
