At the Polish Home at a dance. Love at first sight. Went with my Polish friend and she of course new him. The whole Polish community by the next day knew that he had met an American. My Polish husband definately prefers my blonde hair. I'm naturally, a medium blonde not the bleached platinum. He actually notices hair. I do not like or trust banks. Every bank always rolls out the red carpet when you give them money, but good luck getting your money when you want to use it! I think they intentionally stall to make more money off yours. I closed an account in a day and it took almost 2 weeks for the cash? Thank you for the banking information in Poland. True, no generalizations. Pure speculation and experience. You either have ambition or you don't. It is frustrating when people are lazy and want the easy way out. I don't understand one thing: why people assume your rich. Just like in Poland, money doesn't grow on trees. Yes, EDUCATION! I understand that college is free in Poland or you have to go into the service? I don't think college should be a choice. It should be a continuation of the rest of your schoolin. That experience is priceless. The problem is transferring that knowledge and degree to another country. You can do it, never become a creature of habit. I can't even imagine working in a factory day in day out making money for someone else. You can only rely upon yourself to get ahead.

The Polish culture from my experience is very loyal and close. Perhaps, due to historical occupation. My husband lived under Communism. Rations, tanks at the corner, censorship..it's fascinating how these factors cultivated an inner strength, will and religion- Roman Catholisism. Pope John Paul liberated Poles to have religion and churches. In the Northwest we have a smaller Polish population about 3,000 plus, two Polish Churches, and The Polish Home. This is a very tight community dating back to 1870-1880. Which is actually later than most immigrants 16th century. It's a wonderful place that carries on Polish traditions. In fact, that is where I met my husband. I admire the spirit and closenest among other Poles. They will always be caring to one another... Interesting topic... The Polish also, know everything about everyone. Why is that?

That is a good point. I have noticed (please forgive the generalization, but this thread is based upon that.) Why do Polish people always have to try to out do each other? Who has more money and materialistic things. I have found that people who truly have these things don't put on a show. They know what they have and don't.

I think this determines the type of supposed man you are. There are two sides to every relationship. Obviously, it's apparent why she left. I think this is a moral issue within you. One needs to face the reality of their actions and turn it into a positive situation. An innocent child will live with the consequences of your heartless behavior. An intentional denial and lack of responsibility shows your true character. "The child won't even understand you?" It will be a natural bond. It's your blood. The child will feel the connection. I was wondering the same when I go.., but my father in-law took back to Poland the following:
JEWELRY, expensive clothes, art work, beauty products (collagen?-women love the age products perfume/cologne), toys: barbies, beautiful dresses.., oh, and they love our wine and non perishable delicacies, chocolates etc.) It was a very big, heavy box. He brought gifts back to everyone. Our Polish aunt, (from Montreal) just returned and gave everyone $500.00? I would love to hear more feed back. Come on what would you like from US?
