UK, Ireland / Why are we paying child benefit in Poland? [63]

The problem is that the UK state could cut it out overnight by simply linking child benefit to school attendance - which has to be verified by the educational authorities

Very interesting and novel idea. It would even help with he crime figures, due to the parents of kids doing a bunk not getting their full entitlement to CB. Yes I am in favour. Delphiandomine for PM.

UK, Ireland / Why are we paying child benefit in Poland? [63]

Many live in the UK now because they are trapped in a spiral of debt.

Their greed or the Banks greed.? Why did the banks not check if they could pay off the loans they were given.

They banks in the States lent vast sums to people who had no chance of paying their debts. Now the whole world has to pay. In the UK the figure is quoted at 85 billion, to bail out the banks.

Banks should have done more to protect their customers, and the leaders of the banks get paid vast bonuses for screwing up. I have no compassion for banks they should have been made to go under, like any other business.

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

most have lied about they qualifactions to get the jobs in the first place, which result in poor work output.

Seems that Laddy has also lied about his qualifications, as his english/grammer is very poor.

UK, Ireland / POLES SUPERIOR TO BRITS? [260]

What a bull. Soviets would have never won this war without our help whether you like it or not.

Just like England would never have won the World Cup in 1966 if it wasn't for the help of a Russian linesman.

UK, Ireland / POLES SUPERIOR TO BRITS? [260]

[quote=ShelleyS]
I am also aware that Poles are the most ungrateful kunts to walk this planet!

Well I see nearly every other day in the tabloids whining stories about how the Poles are taking every ones jobs etc, are they not grateful that polish plumbers are fixing their blocked up drains and repairing their broken toilets.

Whining is now become a art form with the Daily Mail and Express competing against each other who can come up with the best whining whinging story.

Invasion, overwhelmed, overun are some of the headlines these papers use.
But no mention of the 650,000 Tamil Tigers living in the UK, who are currently protesting around Westminister, as if the Government can do anything about what is going on in that country.

UK, Ireland / Poles claim UK benefits after working only one year instead of going home [156]

Polish people should not be given benefits after just working one year, only british citizens should have access to benefits.

as for british spongers, hang them up with piano wire or whatever; its a completely differant topic.

Glaswegians are you noimmigration in disguse ?
Do you really think that the UK's problems will be solved if all the Poles go away ?
Do you think that the reason that unemployment has gone up is because the Poles have taken all the low paid jobs, and now that we have a credit crunch you want the jobs back.

Below is a picture from London a couple of weeks ago it is about Britons protesting.
Ask yourself if Poles are the problem

UK, Ireland / Poles claim UK benefits after working only one year instead of going home [156]

Polish people should go to poland if they are unemployed not scrounging off of the british taxpayers and sucking out the honey from britannias breasts

I read a report about a year ago that the majority of people who were born and raised in Scotland do not now live in Scotland, because they have migrated elsewhere.

Yes I need to give you a source, but if it is true then the Scots would be sucking the ENGLISH dry.

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

Relationships are supposed to be based on more than the availability of a passport and greed.

I know of an 50 year old English guy who was a buyer for a multi national company who went to Sweden and was entertained by a well known Swedish company on a cruise ship around the fjords. On this so called cruise ship were lots of beautiful young ladies, during the course of the cruise this English guy fell in love with a young Swedish lady. She knew he was married and played up to him. After the tour had ended he was so besotted that he wanted to leave his wife and children and set up with this young woman aged 25.

Upon his return to UK he kept writing and texting to his fancy woman that he was going to divorce his wife etc. After a couple of months the so called Swedish company put pressure on him to give them orders. Almost once the deals were signed the young lady phoned him to tell him she had found someone else and that he should leave her alone.

In this case the relationship was based on a contract, which was not even hers.

History / Poles and Falaise pocket - WWII [90]

My father was one of those soldiers who liberated Breda (1st Armoured Division Gen Maczek), but I remember him telling me that the reason the Dutch put out statement thanking the Poles was because the British at first claimed that they had liberated Breda.

I have no evidence only what my father told me.

UK, Ireland / 800K of Polish immigrants in UK don't pay taxes -what do the poles think [190]

What does british citizens have to do with british immigration ?

It could mean a lot, because foreign citizens once they have lived legally here for 5 years or more can apply to be British citizens. Therefore all those Poles who came in 2004 can this year be British citizens. Then you can not slag them off, because they will be British, just like you.

UK, Ireland / Polish community in Leeds? [25]

You've dodged the question, with respect, as I didn't ask why celebrities with tonnes of cash move around the world. The answer to that is obvious, it's all for tax reasons.

I dont think I have dodged the question: It does not matter if it is celebrities with tonnes of cash who move to other countries, or ordinary people with no cash in search of work to earn money for their familes, in principal it is still the same, they move because it is a financial advantage for them.

If the celebs were not celebs it is most likely they would stay in their own country of birth, and if the Poles that have migrated away from Poland had jobs, or if their jobs were well paid, then most likely they also would have stayed in Poland. (example about 6 years ago lots of British nurses took up jobs in the USA, because the money was much better)

No the ones that remain

Are the Polish that remain in Poland the ones to be proud and the rest have just sold-out

No the ones who you classify as the lot who sold out are still proud of who they are (are you not proud of your parents ) and where they were born, but remember a large majority who left did not leave with the thought that they will never return.

The British nurses who left UK to take up better paid jobs no doubt are very proud to be British.

UK, Ireland / Polish community in Leeds? [25]

I'm glad you're proud to be Polish, but why are you living here then ?

I do fail to understand sometimes why people think that a certain place is so great and yet they no longer live there.

They are proud because they were brought up to be Poles, their parents, their history, their culture and their religion.
The reason people move from their country of origin is usually financial to provide for their family.

In answer to your question: if they think that a certain place is so great and yet they no longer live there, well I guess it is the same with all nations, a bit like the proud Englishman Lewis Hamilton who does not live in UK, or the proud Scotsman Sean Connerry who lives in the US, and many more Celebs. (but that is to do with TAX, which is in my understanding Financial reasons)

News / Why is Tusk still Polish PM? [67]

I wouldn't say that I was knocking Tusk. I merely said that he had failed to make his mark. Enlighten us wiesiek, what has he done of note?

If it means anything 2 u, I prefer him to Jarosław Kaczyński. I'm not anti-Tusk, I just feel that he has made some errors. The missile-shield being one of them.

Seanus,
Please remember he has been in power just over one year, added to this the President is anti Tusk, and tries to put a spanner in the works at every opportunity. Regarding the missile-shield, not sure Tusk wanted it anyway, but Kaczynski did and was prepared to accept at any costs, at least Tusk and Sikorski got a better deal from the Yanks and the PIS government..

News / Why is Tusk still Polish PM? [67]

Good point Crow. Tusk has really failed to make his mark. OK, he has created some conditions to lure Poles back to Poland but he has been insipid in other areas. While I believe that it will be a highly incremental process for many Poles to enjoy the wealth that many Brits and Germans enjoy, Tusk has done little tangibly to bring about a highly prosperous Poland.

Before knocking Tusk, pray tell me what the Duck twins have done that is so good.

UK, Ireland / Integrating Polish people into the British society [150]

Maybe they are shy, or do not speak english well enough to communicate with you. If you have only ever came into contact with that type, then Mr H I'm afraid you should get out a bit more. Are you refering to people at work or Poles in general.?

Yes their are a few unsocialable people but you have that in every race.
What I am trying to say is that Poles when they come to the UK, do not then turn round and blame the english for all the worlds woes, and want to destroy its people or culture or keep using the race card.

UK, Ireland / Integrating Polish people into the British society [150]

This is often given as a comparison and some probably do and many don't. It's just as bad as people coming here and not integrating.

People have to want to integrate and others have to want to be integrated with.

I do not know of any Poles who have recently arrived into the UK that refuse to intergrate.
They go to pubs, try to speak english (some with difficulty I must admit), wear similar clothes to the English. Eat similar type of food. Their children quickly assimilate with the others. Enjoy the same sports, support english football teams, ask any young Polish child what his favorite football team is and it will be a English team, and not a Polish one. Laugh at the same jokes ( if they understand them of course).

In my expierance Poles are better than other nations into intergrating into Bristish society. The only drawback is the language, but that will change over time.

Do the British who emigrate/retire to Spain intergate with their neighbours?

The voting system renders it a two party state, which made it a choice between Tony Blair and Michael Howard. At the time, Tony Blair seemed the best of a bad bunch.

But it was a British General election, it was not a everybody else's fault general election. It was not as if you never had the choice to form a British government.

It was not the Dutch or Germans or the Poles that put in Mr Blair.

The same can be said that the Poles put in Kaczynski, you get what you deserve

isnt it the same system that has been been in existance for many years and the same system that was in force when Britian was Great and people are wishing for the old days

And who would these people be exactly? The ruling classes?

I thought it was person one vote. Or does that mean there are more of the ruling classes than the rest.

But whose fault is that, isnt it the same system that has been been in existance for many years and the same system that was in force when Britian was Great and people are wishing for the old days. As for the self interested career politicians, when has it been any different. If the will of the people is to change things then people should vote for change. Or are they not bothered enough. If it is the latter then why complain, you get what you deserve.

UK, Ireland / Polish football team in Essex wants to play friendly against other Poles [6]

We are a team based in Essex and would like to play some friendly games against other Poles in and around the London/Essex/Kent area. We are not in any league and usually play on Saturday afternoons, but could play on a Sunday.

Hopefully we want it to be a 11 v 11, but can accomodate smaller group if necessary.
