I was just accepted to teach english in Poland for the month of July and some of August . I will be in this small mountain town, Limanowa for these months. Apparently it is close to krakow. If anyone could give me some information about the town I would appreciate it. I can travel and do things on weekends so any information about places to go in southern poland would really help me out. thanks!!

hi, the best bet is to do a search on google, you should be able to find out info from there, if its not far from Krakow, thats great as there is heaps to see around there.

Zakopane and Krakow are must sees. Zakopane is a mountain town and Krakow is probably the most beautifull city in the whole of Poland. I went in the winter when it was about minus 15 and it didnt take anything away from the beauty. Juts imagine how it will look in 38 degrees of heat. Damn I wish I didnt live so far from there I want to go!!

Youre teaching in July, August? The school Im teaching closes for summer so i guess youre at a summer school?

Hi, Erica.

Krynica is also beautifull.
In Nowy Wisnicz, not far from Limanowa (to the North), there is a hotel which name is "Hotel Atlas".
The owner and his daughter speak Engish.
Have a nice stay in Poland!

Thanks everyone!!! The school I will be at is a boarding school I guess. The students are intermediate in English already. I don't know how to speak Polish and it was not a prerequisite. I am very excited and hopefully I get to meet some really great people.

Hey!! If its the same program, I was accepted and placed there as well! Are you going by yourself? A bunch of us from my college are going, but we got split up into a few different sites.

I'm from Keuka College in Penn Yan, NY (Canandaigua/Geneva are the closest semi-cities lol) I'm not really traveling after as much as visiting. My best friend lives in Germany now because her husband is in the military, so I am fliying to Germany afterwards to visit for about a week.

If you wanna talk more instead of on here, nikito123@hotmail is my email :)

Hey people, I will be in Warsaw in August. If you make it there shoot me a message and I will do my best as a guide. I have lived off and on in Warsaw for over 5 years now. You will find the Polish people very friendly and I am sure you will have a great time no matter where you go.

Limanowa is a small town in southern Poland (former Galicia, Austria until 1918). It is just a few kms NW from Nowy Sacz...
