News / Poland-Turkey Relations, a youtube comment [84]

Poland must accept Serbian explanation that Turkish expansionism and islamic fanatism endangering Slavic elements on Balkan.

Firstly, We Turks are not fanatic muslims.
Secondly, there is not Turkish expansionism in Balkans but we of course support Turks ( living in Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo ), Bosniaks, Albanians, Gagavuz ( christain Turks living in Romania ) when they need help.

All the Turks and muslims are in pressure in Balkans. Of course we do our best to support them.

But, the difference from your point of view is ,
This support is defensive not offensive.

On the other hand, I never heard name of the guy you mentioned. But, I can say he is not Turkish. This example does not show Turkish German friendship.

I guess Germans and Poles will never agree as far as Copernicus :-)

If you ask a Turk, he/she will say Copernicus is Polish.

News / Polish-Hungarian friendship - reality till today or just a phantasmagoria [144]

Turk, chuvash, khazar, all then have the same origin. All these people were from the west and central Asia. The megyer tribe who formed later the magyar, and the onoguria federation, they were from the north of Asia.

David,

When I visited Budapest, I bought a book '' A brief History of Hungary '' from History Museum.

The first paragragh of the book is;

The language of the Hungarians was basically Finno-Ugric. But while their ethnic relatives withdrew to the northern taiga with its bears and reindeer, the Hungarians-or rather the Proto-Hungarians-remained within one of the main waves, and, coming into the warlike company of the mounted peoples of the steps, moved ever westwards. In the meantime they came into contact with Turkic peoples, amongst others, and became mixed with them.

Anyway, the important thing is what you feel yourself.
If you say as a Magyar I have no ethnic relation with Turks, I feel myself close to slavic and germanic people it is ok.

Marek, you are the expert in languages. Respect.

But, history supports Turkish-Hungarian similarities as both nations lived together in todays Chuvash republic, Baskhurdistan and Tataristan before 900 A.D. I am sure you know these nations are all Turkic.

The second clue is before Magyars Avars and Huns were living in Hungary who are Turkic tribes.

Turks and Magyars mixed both in todays Russia and Hungary.

The third clue but the weakest one is Turkish rule of 150 years in Hungary in 16th-17th century.

Now, I don't know if there is any relation between English and Albanian in the history ? But, I think not. So you may call it coincidence.

Turks and Magyars are not brothers maybe but you may call cousins.

One example from similar words was ''sea'' . In Turkish ''deniz'' and in Hungarian ''tenger''. But we know that in ancient Turkish the word was ''tengiz'' which turned to be deniz. So, this shows the relationship of Turks and Magyars are very old.

Your comments pls.

No more related than Hungarians are related to Poles.

I know about Hungarian-Polish-Chechs friendship. It is strong.

But if you read history you will see Turks and Magyars lived together and mixed. Our languages are similar.

History / Why official Poland attacked Serbians in 1999? Was it worth? [49]

Come on ? What are you talking about ?

Yes, before Turks, Bosnia was not Muslim but it was not a Serbian land either. Serbs were only one of the nations live there. Croats and Bogomils were also major populations in Bosnia. The Bogomils were also seperating them form Serbs and most of them choose willingly islam after Turks come. Some Serbs and Croats may be too.

The Bogomils spread westwards and settled first in Serbia; but at the end of the 12th century Stefan Nemanja, king of Serbia, burned them, persecuted them and expelled them from the country. Large numbers took refuge in Bosnia, where they were known under the name of Patarenes or Patareni. There, they were also brought into connection with the indigenous Bosnian Church, which was also considered heretical by the Pope and Byzantines, but was not actually Bogomil in nature. From Bosnia, their influence extended into Italy (Piedmont). The Hungarians undertook many crusades against the heretics in Bosnia, but towards the close of the 15th century, the conquest of that country by the Turks put an end to their persecution. It is alleged that a large number of the Bosnian Paterenes, and especially the nobles, embraced Islam.

Today, none of the Bosniaks says that they were Serbs before Turks ? They say we were Bogomils.

Before 1992, the population of Bosnia Hercegovina was 4.100.000. 2.100.000 of them were Muslim Bosniak (%51) and the rest was Serbs (% 36) and Croats (%14). Now, the population is 3.800.000. The population of Bosniaks is 1.800.000 (% 47), Serbs 1.350.000 (% 35) and Croats 650.000 (% 17).

Before war, the majority of the population Bosniaks and Bosnian Croats want to seperate from Yugoslavia but Bosnian Serbs did not accept it and with the military support of Serbia, they were armed and with tanks and powerful guns attacked muslim Bosnians. Siege of Sarajevo lasted almost 3 years. 15.000 innocent muslims living in the city were killed by bombs coming from the hills surrounding the city. You can still see thousands of damaged buildings in Sarajevo. Then Serbs decided to establish their state in Bosnia and Hercegovina, started to kill muslims living in the areas which they decided to draw the border. If you look at the map you will see Srebrenica, Visegrad, Foca, Bileca where Bosniaks were the majority. They killed Bosniaks in these cities and the rest forced to move to the west of Bosnia. They managed to establish their state by this way.

Which is interesting in the rest of the Bosnia Hercegovina, although Bosniaks are the majority, Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats has their own leaders and has equal votes and equal number of soldiers ( 4.000 ).

So, there is not a muslim land or state in Bosnia Hercegovina now. They only pray for being alive.

History / Why official Poland attacked Serbians in 1999? Was it worth? [49]

see our turkish friend. it's all about religion. you're taking the bosnian's side just because they are muslims like you. and in other topics you're trying to convince us that muslims are cool people and turks are ready to be part of EU. pure hipocrisy amigo. european money are good but a good christian is a dead christian. i just wish that western, wealthy europe were more religious. God gives strenght and religion unites people. Western world lost the faith, became liberal and created sick privileges for all of this maniacs loving european social money and hateing european religion, integration, traditions, languages and our skin colour.

McCoy, I don't agree with you. if you follow the threads you will see a lot of posts insults Turks and muslims. This shows how religious western world is. İf to be religious means insult other nations or religions. Yes, I feel sympathy to Bosniaks.

Religion is only one of the factors. ( Arabs are also muslim but I don't like them)
After Turks left Balkans, they feel alone and pressure from christains increased. Most of the europeans could not accept a muslim nation in the middle of the europe. This encouraged Serbs to get rid of bosniaks if possible kill all of them. Europe watched the genocit. Then USA decided to interfere and NATO supported. But it was too late. 200.000 bosniaks were killed. I support Bosniaks because they were the weak side.

Even now, Bosniaks is trying to live in peace in Bosnia Hercegovina. But, Serbs established their own state in the country. Serbs and Croats living in Bosnia & Hercegovina hang Serbia and Croatia flags to their balconies not Bosnia & Hercegovina flag. Only muslims don't hang their flag because they don't want another war.

I believe, Bosnia & Hercegovina has not stabilized yet. Map will change again.

not just anybody, but those who use terrorism and kill innocent civilians to get their 'point' through. if islam is such a peaceful religion then why do you have so many extremists who use the words from koran, twist them so it suits their preachings and use them as an excuse to blow up buildings and planes full of innocent people?

This questions were answered hundereds of times in the PF.

But, your hazelnut brain can't perceive.

Life / muslim community in poland [430]

Being muslim brothers does not mean to unit in one nation. Being a nation is totaly different. Muslims can not unit in one nation because everyone has his/her own culture, language, way of government, approach to islam, land etc.

For example, Turks are muslims but they are far different than Arabs.

I think this is same for christains.

You can change the word '' nation'' with ''community'' for all religions.
