Travel / Krakow going down the toilet! [184]

They wrecked Prague, this all started in 2001, I was living in Prague at the time then suddenly during my evening coffee in Old Town Square, I heard ole ole ole ole, I looked over and their were about 10 or more guys with football shirts on " What is it with the football shirts anyway"? they were hurling abuse at the waiters on the terrace... I thought to myself, well here is the end of the quiet relaxing place that I had enjoyed for almost 1 year. The cheap flights were distroying the place. I noticed also over the past couple of years that Krakow and Gydnia/Gdansk has gone in a similar way, luckily I can remember it when it was a better place to spend time.

Yes,. that was the idea, glad that you seen the message, I just hope that some managers from Wizzair also see it and do something about it.

Travel / Glasgow to Katowice - Wizzair OK? [21]

On the 24th of May 2008 I booked return flights from Belfast to Katowice for my pregnant wife, 17-month-old child and I. We booked and paid for these seats online at a price of 294.86 GPB.

The outbound flight, Belfast to Katowice, Poland was uneventful however on our return date of the 24th of July 2008, like always I checked the internet in the event of flight delays as we had a two and a half hour journey to the airport, but could not see Wizzair flight W6 117 which was due to depart at 18:45 from Katowice to Belfast.

I informed my wife and asked her to call the customer care line as she could speak Polish, and realized that the cost of doing so was 3.66 Pln per minute equivalent to GBP: 0.90 pence per minute. We had no choice as we needed to speak to Wizzair therefore my wife proceeded to call the customer care line which was answered by Wizzair’s telephonic robot which proceeded to ask her to press various numbers on her handset until she got to the correct department were she was kept on hold for little over 1 hour which at this stage she had to hang up due to the mounting cost.

After the unsuccessful £58.50 phone call to Wizzair, I decided that I would call Belfast International Airport who confirmed my fears that Wizzair flight W6 117 from Katowice to Belfast had been cancelled by the airline without giving my wife and I notice and that Wizzair had retracted all services from Belfast to Katowice indefinitely. We tried Wizzair’s customer care line again however was the same scenario therefore I sent them an email in hope of some return contact, instead I received a message stating that due to technical difficulties it may take up to 30 days to respond to my email.

I was due to start back to work that evening therefore we looked online for alternative flights, as we could not contact Wizzair, however Ryanair and Aerlingus were around £800 GPB therefore we booked the cheapest alternative, which was Easyjet from Prague to Belfast 4 days later, at a cost of £289.00 GPB.

I have since sent multiple emails to various Wizzair departments of which none of them have been acknowledged.

Below you will find a breakdown of my costs due to Wizzairs cancellation of Flight W6 117, not to mention the unnecessary hardship, which my family and I have endured.

Wizzair Flight costs: £294.86

Phone calls: £ 58.50

Easyjet flights: £280.72

5 hour Connection from Poland to Prague airport £60.00 Fuel costs

Loss of earnings: £450.

Total losses: £1,152.36

Still no word back from Wizzair, beware of using this airline, check other reviews on the internet, don't just take my word for it.

Law / Child Support Payment in Poland [47]

Hi, csa.gov.uk

If the Parent with care is not living in the UK then there is not a lot she/he can do.. however if the Parent with care lives in the UK then there are ways of seizing the maintenance from the resident or non resident parent.

Law / Child Support Payment in Poland [47]

Sorry UKPolska, you are wrong, I am basically stating some facts in the second part of my last post. I am all for parents paying for their kids, however we do not know the full circumstances of the relationship between the two parents. You failed to comment on the £750,000,000.00 per month I mentioned he should pay. At the end of the day, if the guy is decent he will look after his child in every possible way and to be honest it shouldn't all boil down to money, which unfortunately it normally does when partners split. Oh and, No there are no reciprocal agreements between UK and any other EU country regarding Child Support, just thought I would let you know.

Law / Child Support Payment in Poland [47]

Hey mate, I think everyone is getting away from the answer to your question and here it is: £750,000,000.00 per month. At least that's what the mother of the child would like to have, and your shirt, tie and possibly even blood. On the other hand, if she resides outside the UK, she cannot have anything as the child is not living in the UK and is therefore out of jurisdiction: Child support does not cover:

If the parent with care is resident outside the UK; or if the child is resident outside the UK.
step-children;
school fees;
where the absent parent is resident outside the UK (unless working for a UK-based employer); Hope this helps.....

Travel / Ryanair cancelling flights to Poland at short notice [55]

Yes,.. I would have been really pissed then... As you said, Stuck, nothing else for it then i'll just have to drink more Tyskie untill I get home, burp!

They enter a contract to buy fuel at a fixed price for a set period. Many airlines have agreements giving they fuel at a fixed price far below the market price. Jet2.com are paying something like the equivalent of $60 a barrel for the next 2 years whereas the market price is $125 at present.

Jet 2 should sell fuel to Ryanair for $100 and make $40, Ryanair would still save $25.00.... I wonder if they thought if that? he he

Travel / Ryanair cancelling flights to Poland at short notice [55]

Just found out today that my flight was cancelled by Wizzair from Katowice to Belfast, they didn't even notify me I found out by chance when looking for the departure time on their website and the flight no longer existed. Tried lots of other airline to get myself, wife and two year old girl home, however getting to Belfast was an extortionate price for the three of us, ended up having to Fly Easyjet from Prague to Belfast this Sunday...

Now i'll have to fight with the buggers to get compensation

Real Estate / Current price of Homes in Poland [41]

Any body has any other views on commisions in sale of property, when you buy in Poland the agent tells me prices have gone down, when you buy the agent tells me the property will double, I'm confused

You will get the jist of things sooner or later, hopefully sooner. When a foreigner wishes to buy in Poland.. the agents inflate their price as they think you are a millionaire and an idiot. Don't do anything unless you have it on paper and you understand it fully. The only way to win is to have a contract in which way if they try to stroke you, you can take em to court.

Real Estate / Don't buy a house in Poland if you are British!!! Corruption!!! [67]

Ola sounds like you have a hatred for Brits, if so what are you doing in UK? seems that you are Racist. It's tough for a lot of people currently no matter where you live in EU and other countries are worse off than us. I lived throughout the seventies in UK and even though we had very little or no prospects, we still managed to survive. Wouldn't even have dreamt that we would ever have owned our own homes in those days, even to own a car was a big thing then. So less of the F*ck you brits we are gonna steal your jobs and your homes attitude. You gotta get along with people in this world in order to have success in living in it.

Real Estate / Prawo Odkupu [8]

Edited by: Wroclaw Boy Apr 24, 08, 04:35 Report #4

I know what the law means. Its the governments way of selling cheap agricultural property and then placing a clause in the contract where bye they can buy it back for the price you paid within five years - no questions asked.

I bought 6 hectares of farm land a couple of years ago and my wifes parents are using it t grow crops, however the council have informed us that this land is to be flooded to make a Lesiure facility ( Lake ). We bought the land privately and hope that since the council are a government agency that they can not buy it back for what we paid for it as I know that land prices have doubled since then.

Life / current pound zl exchange rate [14]

Think the best way to win is to find someone who has a lot of £'s who wish to buy PLN or someone who has loads of PLN who wishes to buy £'s you could always look at the exchange rates and come to a reasonable agreement which would benefit both parties.

At the moment I would be interested in Buying PLN for a better than banking rate for Sterling, so if you know anyone who has excess PLN and wants £ sterling then let me know....Of course it will have to be authenticated..

Travel / Krakow going down the toilet! [184]

Not quite ringing true there matie...You've been watching Benidorm on telly haven't you...go on own up! I very much doubt that scrotes can afford 5 star accommodation for a family of 20!

I visit Spain quite a bit and stay at a friends apartment, not in the 6 years I have been visiting seen this kind of behaviour, mind you, you get a better class of yob in Marbella ;-)

Watch TV? Me? I never have the time for that Luxury, what is this Benidorm thing you are on about?
Funny I thought the same when I seen the "scrotes" in the Hotel, HDF could they afford to stay here, must have been some special offer for that week.

Anyways Lucky you that can stay in your friends apartment, this way you are sure never to see the likes of this unless you invite the scrotes round for tea.

Maybe I exaggerated on the numbers of families it may have just been 19...

Travel / Krakow going down the toilet! [184]

My g/f has just got back from her home town (Krakow) and she explained to me that many Brits are being refused entry to clubs there. This is a joke and is nothing short of racial discrimination.

It wouldn't happen in Britain which I guess is why most people would rather live here.

I suppose it is Racial discrimination when an English doorman refuses a drunken lout from entering nightclubs throughout Britain. You just have to look at most towns throughout England on a Friday and Saturday night, people peeing on the streets, vomiting, girls sleeping in doorways out of their minds and with little or no clothing on. It is a Europe Wide known Fact that Brits do not know how to behave when they are out for a night out. I have seen it in Spain, Italy, Holland, Czech Republic, Riga-Latvia, Germany, Portugal, Greece, Turkey. I was recently in Spain and stayed in a 5 **** hotel, a coach load of Brits had just left the Hotel when I was checking in and they had all **** in their rooms before leaving. The next 7 days were a nightmare, there were twenty or more families similar to the Gallaghers from that series on TV ( Shameless ) They were screaming and shouting throughout the night at their kids and each other, smashed glass around the pool, threw up where they stood, they were shouting from balcony to balcony, the place was made Hell on Earth. The quietest time was from around 06:00am to 12:00, when the nightmare started all over again. Now do you see any other nation behaving in this way?

Travel / Krakow going down the toilet! [184]

The blame lies with the cheap airlines. If flights to Krakow were more expensive there would be no lager louts and stag parties.. simple as that.

Well in a way they too are responsible but banning cheap flights would only hurt the normal hard working conscientious person too. Basically the Police need to have a zero tolerance approach to these idiots, if they step out of line when visiting any country then they should be arrested for breach of the peace and banged up for a few days and deported, this means that they will not be allowed back into the country. Infact I feel that if people are travelling and cause trouble there should be a points system, just like a drivers licence. For minor offences like peeing on the street it could be 3 points and a £60 on the spot fine and points given depending on the seriousness of the event Too many points then they take away your passport.

Travel / Krakow going down the toilet! [184]

I Lived in Prague for one year in 2001, that was the year that the cheap flights began from UK into Prague. I loved Prague it was so relaxing, people were lovely, you wouldn't meet too many people from the UK, there were only a handful living there, then all of a sudden whilst enjoying my coffee on the terrace in Old Town Square, I heard, Olay, Olay Olya Olay and a bunch of English people shouting and singing in the square, must have been a stag night. The group proceeded to hurl abuse and insults at the waitresses and waiters, I thought at that moment, Prague would never be the same again. I left in January 2002 after seeing the place change into a Zoo for English drunks. It's now happening in Poland, Krakow and Gdansk, it's a pity that the Police don;t do anything about these Hooligans, they should be brought to book for public order offences.

UK, Ireland / Polish mother and son jailed for life (POST THIS THREAD BY ITSELF) [32]

serve time, we can charge them or they can be charged in their own country if possible i don't really care to be honest, however they can go and spend their jail time in their own country. I'm also happy for any British prisoners to be sent back to Blighty to serve there sentences too.

I think that they will be pooing in their pant's being sent home to Poland, in the UK they would have Satellite tv in their cells, central heating, Good quisine from the kitchen, they will even get free education. In Poland they will get nothing but a hard time, no TV in their rooms and certainly the food will not be good... Serves em right, All Criminals should be deported to serve sentences in their country of origin, it's time the UK government stepped this course of action up.
