I've found that when Polish people are speaking in English they are not aware of words and phrases that are 'politically correct'. This means that they might sound offensive, but they are only using the language they know.

If it is people speaking in Polish I don't know what is going on. I've never noticed that many 'agressive views'.

As for this site: Because you don't have to sign-in and there is no Moderator some people use it to wind up others. Small minded people with nothing better to do.

Welcome to Wroclaw. It's a nice place to be, but it's not without its problems. For example the constant roadworks drive me crazy at times.

It's great that you're getting out and about in Wroclaw. I've read your post on the other thread and I can see that you have a busy nightlife.

In winter Rynek takes on a different appearance with Christmas lights and snow, and of course there are no tables and chairs outside bars.

Anyway, you've now got me in the mood to go out. It's about time I started showing my face again.

The problem with Polish sausage is what to do with it. In England they fry or grill their sausage. Here in Poland an Englishman might turn his nose up at a sausage that has just been boiled or is eaten cold. Part of the problem is what to expect when offered sausage. From the English point of view are you expecting something like salami or a typical 'banger' ?

For me a Polish sausage is neither of these.

I wouldn't say that English is easy to learn. It might not be that difficult for some people, but to become proficient can take years. Think how long it takes for pupils to get ready for the Matura.

English became international for various reasons. None of them are because it's easy.

Of course we have hot and cold taps. It's just that many people in Poland have mixer taps.

It's become a cliche for pissed off Poles to say to anyone from the UK. Why do you have two taps ? It's a sort of put down.

This is not a dig at anyone. It's just a thought.

They have used mixer taps in England as long as they have used them in Poland. We have a new bathroom suite [here in Poland] The wash basin has separate hot and cold taps.

Even some mixer taps are set by turning hot and cold taps which are fitted to the side of the appliance. Water doesn't just come out at the right temperature.

It's true that London is too congested, and many other cities in the UK. I think it's an easier life in the south-west or north-east of England.
