Frozen Food in Poland

Hi everybody,

I am doing an assignment on frozen food in Poland. Just wondering if people in Poland eat pre-prepared frozen meals over there at all? (e.g. your lean cusine style) I have a friend who is polish but he hasnt been over there for like 10 years and he said that when he was there all his relatives prepared the meals themselves. His Dad was over there recently and he only knows the older generation and they were very traditional. Is this changing in recent times at all for your younger professional types?

Lots of frozen food here but I haven't noticed any frozen meals. That's if you mean meat and two veg in a plastic or metal tray.

I think frozen meals in Poland aren't very popular; people prefer to cook themselves (at least in smaller towns; in big cities they should be more likely to buy frozen food).

Personally, I don't like frozen food (unless it's vegetables) -- too much conservants and does not taste like very well.

Yes, there are lots of frozen food in Polish superstores - I think young people start to like it. But I don't think the elder generation is so thrilled about it :)

Im not really a fan of those frozen meals myself, i prefer cooking them.:)

Do many Polish people use a microwave when cooking at all?

And what are the major frozen food companies over there, ive noticed there is 1 called Hortex is there any others?

The microwave gets used every day in this house.
The problem is that we don't have enough products that can go directly into the microwave. This means the microwave is used for re-heating not cooking

I don't think that's a "problem" at all -- frozen foods is full of chemical substances that are not good to your health.

The only frozen food I like are frozen vegetables and some kinds of fruid (strawberries or blueberries). I don't like frozen dinner/meet/etc. I'm Polish.

Don't forget about frozen pizza. Typical dish for students :)

my boy is polish but he prefer eat oriental food than thier meal..especially he like kebab most..everyday he eat kebab..hehe..but what i know,polish like to cook in home than eat frozen food..

Gee... What is this? Another "do you have TV?" question? Listen, Poland is a country in the middle of Europe and is no different from Germany or France. Maybe not THAT rich but people eat pre-prepared frozen meals in Poland. Got that?

actually... as far as i have been told aolt of europe's frozen food is produced in bydgoszcz...
