Love / KISSING ON THE LIPS (problem with my Polish in-laws) [17]

Please can anyone shed any light on this problem i have with my polish in-laws. I am english and met in ireland a nice polish man from a little village in poland. I moved to ireland and we set up a nice life. Everhthing was great and on the spur of the moment we went on holidays and got married. Then we introduced each other to our families. My family are so happy for us. However on me meetin his family i noticed that his mother and sisters greeted him with a kisses on his lips and were very nice to me in front of his face but when he went out of the room, and i was alone with them they said very nasty things to me, "you have robbed my son" You changed my brother " they were very serious and aggressive to me. We had planed to saty 5 nights in his familys home, after the first day i ask my husband please don't kiss people on the lips could you just kiss them on the cheeks instead, he agreed and announced to his parents and sisters that since he has lived for 3 years outside poland and married to an english woman he didn't want any more kissing on the lips, just on the cheeks. I thought that they would understand, that i was from a different culture and kissing on the lips is a sexual thing. Well what a can of worms i unleashed. instead of the kissing stopping it got worse. whenever we were leaving the house his mother not only kissed him on the lips, she jumped up on him and warpped her legs around his waist, threw her arms around his kneck and planted a kiss on his lips and laughed at me and said this is my son and he will only ever have one mother. My husband was very embarassed and tried to stop her from doing this. It got worse i had to watch his sister every time we left the house, kissing him on the lips and staring at me and saying my " brother is polish and you have to learn our culture" "IT IS POLISH CULTURE TO KISS YOU FAMILY ON THE LIPS EVERY ONE DOES IT." It got worse his father every time i was alone in the kitchen, when my husband was asked to go out to chop wood or to attened to the farm the father who is much stronger and bigger than me grabbed me held my head and kissed me on the lips. even though i kept no and trying to fight him off. We didn't stay the 5 days with the family we went to the nearest village and stayed in a hotel. Please tell me is it polish culture to for mothers sisters brothers and father in laws to act like this in poland. Has my husband just got a strange family or do all familys act like that.

Love / My Polish boyfriend and his drinking habit. [60]

It is my experience that polish men enjoy their drink, and when they are drunk they may say and do stupid things. Show your boyfriend these comments and if he agrees he was an asshole that night when he puked all over the place. Give him another chance but if he EVER GETS in that state again walk away, leave him alseep in the middle of the street if you have too. His drinking is not your problem its his.

Life / How to deal with rude rich Polish people? [65]

Hi they might be rich the father who works a million hours a week is the tipical self made man however seems to me that the wife is flanting the money. But what i don't understand is why you care she is not your girlfriend. You just worry about your girlfriend her family is her problem not yours and never invite those ass holes to dinner it sound like its going to be more hassle than its worth. thats the approcch i had to take with my in laws and its great i am saving myself loads of heathache. AND IT REALLY PISSES THEM OF THEY ARE DOING HANDSTANDS TO GET AN INVITE TO ANY OF MY PARTIES BUT I KEEP TELLING THEM THAT THEY WOULD LOWER THEY TONE.

Love / Polish Men and their attitude towards sex and relationships [60]

ok here is my opnion on polish men. I do think that there is somthing special about polish men, over all they seemed to be well balanced and know what they want in life. They are very sexy and know how to take care of a woman. They work very hard and enjoy life. I really rccomend polish men. There is only one problem with polish men is behind every sexy strong beutiful polish man is an controling mother. So please sexy men cut those apron strings.

UK, Ireland / POLISH SUICIDES IN THE UK [21]

i think part of the problem is the the high hopes the young poles have before comming here to uk. I know that the stories my sisters in laws have told to the villagers back home has every one of them thinking we are all millionares and that the steets are paved with gold. So they think that the answer to all there problems is to get over here and get a bit of the money that we have growing on the money trees over here.

UK, Ireland / Dublin city centre - interesting places to see [33]

i am a walking map of dublin. i woild reccommed if your staying in the city centre to get the dart to malahide, Malahide is a lovely costal village with a marina, great for walks a photos. Also malahide has about 73 places to eat and all in close proximiity. The choice of resturants in malahide is amazing and if you go for lunch in the price is usally 2 = 3 times cheaper than dinner. There are many cloths shops in malahide too i would say that the cloths are quiet pricey i don't know where the shop you mentioned in your post.

I think Esprit is in the IFSC centre near the Custom House- unless it has closed.

Is the shop in the IFSC called free sprit not E sprit. Any way free sprits a hairdressers not a cloths shop

Love / My Polish dates mum is wanting to 'get me into the Polish tradition'? [25]

Not really, she is checking on you and see what kind gal you are dating her son. If she like you, which mean you pass test. If she don't like you for her son, it may not work out.

I do hope all things work out for you and new boyfriend.

Good Luck.

This girl speaks the truth i failed her test big time, she didn't like my cloths cos they were not polish fashion she said. She said she didn't like my blonde hair and i should die it red. Oh of course she said i always wear to much make up ( I wasn't even wearing any)

If i was a saint she would of found a problem with me. Please be carefull
