Thinking about it I had more memories of bad customer services in UK than in Poland.
Bank- I wanted to open my first account ( just ater moving there no register roll, not history) I went to Natwest they asked for reference from Polish Bank, I got it left it with them they never came back to me when I contacted them again they said that they lost it and that is it- no sorry, no bother.

Second Bank- The same problem ( no history) and I wanted first basic account with cash card. Girl gave me form for full account with cash -debit card and of course it was rejected......awful, nightmare.

I went to coffe bar asking for coffe- ( about £2) clumsy girl pass it to mee spill lots on the soucer- and taht is it. Shouldn't she clean then soucer before giving it too me?

This is the porplem witrh temps- not very well prepared to do jobs who don't really bother.
I find lots places in UK overpriced with poor services.

But Poalnd I noticed taht we lack is sometimes 'good manners' . I remmebr I went ti Notary office to ask abotu smoething ( I could be potential customer bringing them some income) but woam was talking to me standing at the door. I am sure that In similar situation in Uk I would be asked to sit down at least.

I think that she was in this remaining 15%. she was English. Young girl who didn't bother.....

I have noticed one more thing in Uk- why do bit older people who work as a shop assistants usually serve quite quickly but young ones move like zombies?

I think that traditional polish bar is called 'karczma'-they are still in Poland but I don't think thhey are in England.

I was in Edinburgh in June and visited to 'pani Solinska' restaurant. Bit disappointed. Cakes are English there I expected cheesecake, popyseed cake,.... Menu quite small no pierogi, no golabki..... I think there was some fish and pork chops in crumbles.

So how is medical care in UK????? Behind what? ...dirty hopsitals, shortage with doctors and dentists....

Why English fly to countries to Poland to go to dentists or have operation as in UK they are on 10 month waiting list.

Not true. there was tv program while ago- English farmer was paying 7 pounds per hour. He employed lots foreign workers- some of them earned up to 2 K a month. So Tv reporter went to Job Centre to have a chat with local blokes on benefits and thay started...o yes foreign workers drive down wages..we will not work £3 per hour...So reporter said no it is 7 per hour...but 'blokes didn't listen as they were to busy opening another can on Stella.....'

In theory- very easy solution- cut off (or rather review) benefits and send lazy people to work.

I have just come back from Croatia, Dubrovnik- It is beautiful there but a bit pricey and many tourists. I regret that we didn't rent a car and drive arount. I only went on 1 day trip to Bosnia-Hercegovina to Mostar and Mejugorie.

There is one problem with it.Long unemplyment and lots of buzz and doing nothing can be very demoralizating. These 'work shy' people when deprived of the benefits can start begging or do burglaries instead of coming back to work.

Maybe they will do it much quicker that in 6 months? How do you know their profit? Does house owner provide them with all materials?

I am not convinced about channel4 programme either. BBC shows twisted picture of British lazy people on benefits. Channel 4 shows one-sided wievs of some British workers saying that immigrants take their job. But....they were not convincing to me either- sort of people who demand, demand...more money, longer breaks...and O! painful back so will have to go on sick leave.....

Not many of these reputable butchers left. Mainly it is mass-production for Tesco, Asda.....

I went to Horncastle few weeks ago (old traditional,very English town) and bought few sausage rolls there- a bit shock comparing to tesco- there was really meat in them not lots of crap and fat.

I have impression that Americans are a bit obsessed about washing. Few years ago I spent 6 weeks with my family living there....And I was little surprised that they wash jeans-trousers just after one day of wearing it? Isn't it excessive?

I think that you can see quite a few people with mental disabilities in Poland - I haven't noticed difference comparing to England. I remember -when I was living in Krakow- seeing nearly everyday mother with little girl with Down syndrom waiting for a bus. I think she was taking her to school. There are also few groups connected with Church who take these people out for some entertaining. To be honest I didn't see so many disabled people where I live in Uk. Different problem is with people who are physically disabled- Our houses, buses , shops.....are not always designed for them. That is why they often have to stay at home. If someone lives in flat in 4-floor building without lift how can he get out on his own?

Hospitals are dirty, access to doctors are limited- How long visit 10-15 minutes max?, access to drugs also limited, Waiting for treatment( not dangerous for life) 1 year ? Dentists? It is complete nightmare. I go to private one- don't even try to NHS.

I am emigrant so it was my choice to come here but I sometimes feel sorry to British people-they have been born here,work here and deserve proper treatment.

I think that the there are few reasons for it:
doctors are overpaid
lots of money is wasted by NHS
some people come here from abroad for free treatment.

I am probably this exception.
I have allergy problems- In Poland I was properly diagnosed, treatment was offered to me ( special vaccinacion- injections). I Uk I asked Doctor to recommed me the most suitable medicine for my allergy - I found one which helps ( easy access to buy at tesco but was not sure if I can take it so often) Doctor haven't heard about it and couldn't find it in his drug-book???

Another example you phone for appointment and can get week or two to wait. After week someone can get Ok again or already get dead so no problem one more patiens for NHS.

That is true about bribes in Poland- i know it is awful and unethical- but person with average salary can afford it. In UK you have to use NHS( waiting for ever for any treatment) or private healthcare which is so expensive that only rich people can afford.

It is my personal opinion and experience.

And I agree NHS system is complex but patients are not interested in its complexity but effectivity.

It has- Visit Krakow,Warsaw....There are lots of different ( French, Spanish, Italian,Chinese, Indian..) restaurants.

There is one thing - in Poland you can go to bar Mleczny and have tasty, freshly cooked cheap meal.
In England good quality , freshly cooked food is in rather expensive restaurants in average and cheaper ones food is not very nice..... And don't tell me about pub food- awful, greasy, processed burger pies....

Maybe you are lucky- near me there was nice Italian restaurant ( small family business) with very good food- But unfortunately it is closed now..... But most of these chain pubs- from my experience -don't have good food.
