Paradoxically I have seen the most attractive and preserved nature in former communist countries.Huge forests,lakes,rivers etc.I think if they were to be exploited in market way,they would not have remained the same so long.Especially in Ukraine the extent of forest land is unbelievable.

Poles have an average IQ of 103 while English have 101.Anyway the IQ of the two folks is close,so there is no reason that british students should get better grades than polish ones.Except one case.If the Poles who decide to study in UK are the ones who fail in the competitive polish exams for university entrance.In this case students who can afford to study in England represent a kind of new elite middle class descendants and not something special intellectually.(like the Asians for example).

For the West Poland is eastern Europe.I never read any document describing it as central Europe.Czechs claim they are central europeans to make themselves distinct from Russians.They even deny their slavic origin.They say they are central europeans,not slavic.The Poles do not deny their slavic traits.I do not think they have a problem with eastern Europe term.Unless it reminds them of the german description of eastern terittories,the name that they gave to the occupied terittories of Poland in WW2.

Sth that worked for me was to get to polish forums and write in polish with help of dictionary.You have t answer quickly and gradually manage most conversations.With slavic languages if there is no talking partner it is almost impossible to learn cause written speech is different from oral speech.Very much in russian.

Yes,Czechs seem clever.They had also a lot of literature and lots of contacts with West,so maybe their language became more complicated.

I would have thought that Chech and Slovak are both similar to Polish in difficulty.

Czech seems more difficult to me.A bit more complicated,intonations etc.Polish is more straight.Thre is also the dark czech sense of humour.

Slavic languages are attractive.They have structure but not as rigid as german and they are melodic.Russian more primitive.

Do you mean that males try to learn these languages because they want to go to these countries and pick up a nice female? I think that it is deffinately the reason why many TESOL teachers go there.

I always wondered what made me learn these languages.If you speak them you have an extraordinary advantage with the local ladies.

Polish girls are extremely easy to chat to.You have to be situational.Avoid cities like Krakow with lots of tourists who have created a bad reputation for foreigners.

Polish girls like handsome guys,not very extravert and serious.
They also like dancing,reading and some sports.They do not like italian style mafioso.
In general they are very happy girls and sweet.They can appear crazy sometimes.It is slavic mentality if you are used to it.

Poland is one of the most open countries to homosexuals in the world.There is now a law that every person with foreign passport can enter Poland freely provided he is homosexual.Governement even thinks of giving gays discounts for buses,trains to move easily and spread freedom.
