Love / Received an email from a young Polish woman - Is she too good to be true? [70]

These scammers are very clever.....she may be genuine....but then again..? I have had loads of such emails from stunning Russian girls half my age . yeah right...? the girl in the photo probably just got paid by the local gangsters to have her pic taken , then the pic is sent to you with a note , probably written by some old crow thats good at English , and in a short time this stunner falls in love with you...next step is of course the visit to you , which she needs money for , followed by a further request for dosh to ease customs problems or maybe her mother will suddenly get very ill and need medicine....end result is some sucker pays out lots of dosh , and a gang of criminals go out and have a good time on your money...just be carefull...read about Russian scammers on the net , see if the patterns described are similar...????

Life / HORSE SHOES....which way up do they go in Poland ...? [17]

It seems that in Poland they have the same tradition as the UK , that of hanging up a horse shoe on the door as a good luck charm...problem is....seems to be some controversy over which way up it goes in Polska...?

In the UK we hang our horse shoes up so that it looks like a letter U , in other words , with the open end upwards , but after seeing my shoe this way up a Polish girl friend told me that this way up would allow the good luck to float up to heaven.....so i turned it the other way up , only to be told by another friend that it now looked like a frowning mouth , it should be the other way up , like a smiling mouth......SO.... which way up does my horse shoe go in Poland.....i could of course do it the English way , but its Polish good luck i need as i am living in Poland......?????

Travel / Alcohol on trains in Poland [40]

At the end of the day i suppose those of us that can have a drink without wanting to cause bother to anyone will suffer due to the plonkers that can,t behave after having a drink....

Love / Broken Heart, An amazing girl from Poland [139]

try shagging another girl as quickly as possible

ooopss sorry , that made me laugh.....! Oh motoman...another one fallen for the cute Pole with somebody waiting for them back in Poland...You are not the first one , and surely not the last....

It seems common for Polish people to forget they are in a relationship once they get out of Poland , and they wind up leaving some poor sucker broken hearted when they have made their money and headed back to Polska...i might add that Brits abroad are no different in this respect...

I know its hard to believe , but there are actually some single Polish girls around , not easy to find , but well worth looking out for....

This girl you met is not single , not yours , and most likely does not give a stuff about you now she is back with her fella....you will get over it , go out and find another Polish lovely...one that is single....!

Life / Dogs in Poland - why do we keep them? [28]

Do you still get that sort of thing on council estates in the UK...guys walking around in cheap shell suits looking like they have an invisible roll of carpet under their arms , and hanging onto some pitbull type dog....er yus , i am not hard , but my dog will rip your liver out.....hee hee...

Life / Wedding Reception Venues in Gdansk [17]

At my cousin's wedding she had a chocolate fondue fountain. There were assorted fruits and marshmallows to cover with delicious toppings.

Its midnight....i am on the edge of a small village in the middle of nowhere......and i feel a desperate need for chocolate.....!!!!!!

Travel / Alcohol on trains in Poland [40]

It boils down to responsibility

Exactly....We were not bothering anybody as we sat quietly getting drunk on the Gdansk train....Anybody thats causing trouble to other passengers , be they drunk or not , should be arrested , fined , or thrown off the train...perhaps they could slow it down a bit tho before carrying out the last option....?

Travel / Alcohol on trains in Poland [40]

After five years living in Poland i had my first bus and train trip to Gdansk to catch a plane to the UK.... I am happy to report that after being joined in my compartment by several Polish bikers i was offered beer , vodka , and even a smoke of a joint that they rolled up....The ticket lady said we were very naughty boys....beats British rail i can tell you....i was off my face by the time i got to Gdansk...

No complaints about Polish rail travel at all.......

UK, Ireland / Polish driver dies as car shears in half... [38]

it was probably done by the emergency services.

Seems unlikely....they would only cut open a car to attend to or remove the driver , but its been stated he was thrown clear of the vehicle , so no need to cut it...Also the front half of the vehicle is in a garden , the rear half up against the tree , why would they cut it , and then dump the front bit in a garden..? its obvious the cars front end was flung into the garden by the impact....

They reckon the car was doing almost 70 mph , trust me , thats more than fast enough to rip a car in half if you hit a tree...trees , unlike other vehicles do not absorb any of the impact , the car takes all of it...sad that somebody died , but good news he didn,t manage to kill anybody else with his stupidity....

Life / Retire in Poland - Good or Bad Idea? [74]

even a word that something could be better in Poland will instantly unite all Poles against him.

Perhaps , in the company of strangers this can happen , but not among friends.... I am always quick to moan about anything thats bad in Poland , and i usually find my Polish friends have the same complaints....I am always ready to shout about the things in Poland that are better than the UK too , so people do understand i am not just an anti Polish moaner....

News / Exploitation of Poles working abroad [30]

News / POLAND'S POPULATION IS SHRINKING... [62]

[quote=Seanus]The rate of births of Poles in the UK was pretty high.

Now why didn,t the Germans think of this...? they could have taken over the UK in 1940 without all this battle of Britain nonsense....

Food / Is it just me, or is the Polish diet rather unhealthy? [119]

Being one of the 'lard-ass' Americans on this site

I am sorry i said that now , but it is true that Americans are geting bigger and bigger , and we in the UK are not far behind in the rush to kill ourselves by stuffing our faces.....Maybe i should start the Wildrover no food weight loss plan and make some money from it....i simply can,t afford to eat lots of food , tho i do like a pitza now and then....

News / Exploitation of Poles working abroad [30]

I wouldn't like to have a friend like that!

She wasn,t exactly my best buddy , she actually lived in a flat under my friends house , but i saw her on a daily basis , and just before the murder she and her boyfriend had begun working at the same place as my friend and i , so i gave them both a lift to work every day...they both had a problem with alchohol , but the woman was also violent when drunk...
