News / First rabbis since WW2 ordained in Warsaw [4]

Splendid. Is it true they are planning to attack Iran by the end of the week or is it a case of all mouth and very few trousers?

Travel / Wejherowo - what is it like? [7]

Google for pictures but there isnt a great deal to see there. Loads of new residential development built by a company who didnt do their sums right but arent too bothered because theyre crooks anyway. It's nothing to write home about other than to moan that you have to live there. Theres a couple of forum members who live there and escape as often as possible. I own property there but wouldn't dream of actually settling for any length of time in the place

Love / Polish Gay Life [142]

I think it's beyond the comprehention of some PFers. And of course calls for the acknowledgement and confrontaction of fears. Which is never easy. Especialy for manly men. Who might not be entirely comfortable with their own sexuality

News / What if Poland has decided to withdraw from the European Union? [54]

No Piddly. As we have already established, just because I think you are a silly c.u.n.t and you happen to be Polish, it doesn't equate that I think all POles are silly c.u.n.t.s. Although I am prepared to accpet that in your family they are. Especially your mother

how many of you would be happy if they siblings or children were gay?

The sad thing is Rafik, that in your mind this is obviously a serious question.

Love / Soldier born in Poland / living in England. Fiance going away for ages. Complicated... [205]

Wasnt the War of Independence one group of Brtis fighting another group of Brits and therefore just another war the Americans claim to have won. But didnt

And understanding that it was infact largely British soldiers that won the War of Independence, and following the logic of most Americans that despite being 72nd generation they are in fact all 100% some other nationality, surely America is still a British colony controlled by it's British masters

History / Why has Poland been attacked so often by its neighbors? [180]

Uzbekistani. Even in my country we laugh at silly Polish meatheads. It is like our national passtime. And when our football players break the rules, we do not look for someone else to blame. We are a proud nation.

Love / Polish Gay Life [142]

Ive known a Polish Poof (yes, I call him that to his face) since the mid 90s. He is a high profile character and has always been very openly gay. Camp is an understatement. He delights in telling me of his frequent 'exploits' with details more graphic than really needed.

The gay scene is very much alive in Poland but how open people are about it obviously depends on individual circumstances. There seem plenty of gay oriented places to ang out in. If you are so inclined. There also seem to be a number of on line gay networks where people chat to eachother. What they talk about I can only speculate although according to my friend, much of it seems to revolve around the arrangement of 'meetings'

News / 14 year old rape victim from Warsaw denied abortion! [348]

This case seems even more contentious
javno.com/en/world/clanak.php?id=159403

The Rumanian government has its job cut out for it. They have to decide as soon as possible whether to allow an 11-year-old girl, who fell pregnant after her uncle raped her, to have an abortion done. The legal limit for abortion in Rumania is 14 weeks of pregnancy and the problem is that the girl is 21 weeks pregnant.

Life / Customer Service in Poland, what are your experiences? [106]

they are not stupid you know.

LOL some of them need to learn a bit before they try it on ;)

Getting change from a 20 and saying no, I gave you a 50. Then getting denail and indignation. Then explaining that the note was folded in a particular way and if they just have a quick look then they would see that I am right. Then getting the correct change along with a meek apology or more indignation

She said that as this was our first mistake in six years of my company’s existence

LOL loving it!

Their mistake becomes your mistake.

How can you do anything but treat them with the respect they deserve?

Life / Customer Service in Poland, what are your experiences? [106]

This is nothing unusual. It's normally down to staff changing shifts and having to cash up whatever before handing over to the next person. That she decided to do it with your mouth full is rude, and again nothing unusual.

What waiting staff dont seem to have realised in many Polish restaurants is that tip size is directly related to service quality. May be it's because Poles largely dont tip, so whats the point of giving good service. Sort of fits with the apparent Polish mindset of showing courtesy or manners is a sign of weakness
