what happened during the crusades? how many people were burnt for witchcraft etc?
and and and... all in the name of christ...

Yes and that was between 1019 and 1291 we are slightly more civilised now- also the witchcraft thing, Im sure the witch prickers were unhappy we did away with those barbaric practicies but hey hoe!! Funnily enough we dont put people in stocks or whip them publicly either anymore....

Like I said the muslim religion is based on lies and fear, not a very nice religion if you ask me...

Lies , what a silly thing to say , what evidence you have, u know nothing about islam, and im sure nothing about ur religion.

didn't mohammed say that men and women are equal? Yet it is plain to see that women are mistreated by men.

They claim the founder of Islam is a prophet named Muhammad...however Muhammad himself says he is not a prophet and has never personally heard from God...in fact Muhammad who heard voices thought himself it was from evil spirits....his wife encouraged him to change his mind and claim God had spoken to him...

Muhammad was a pedophile, having sexual relations with a 6 year old and 9 year old girl.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (I Tim. 2:5).

Love / why wont he communicate? going crazy [90]

marek s

Dont be so damn mean...

Okay - you havent heard off this guy for nearly 2 months, I seriously doubt you will hear from him again, you are just making yourself go crazy, its coming up to Christmas just look forward to it....maybe he believed what he told you.. when in reality it could never happen...

I dont think you should go to Poland looking for him, it doesnt make you look very good - how would you feel if you had lets say - met a guy in another country, had some realy nice times with him and convinced yourself you could see a future, when in reality, you had committments back in England, then you come home to England and resume your normal life again - the guy keeps texting you and ringing you, you ignore it but he continues, I can tell you this, you would start to get f*cked off with it..

If I ignore someone its because I dont want to speak to them, simple....

News / Poland turning into a religious state? Polish politic and Church. [96]

Nothing ridiculous? How about constantly burning cars (constructional weakness?) and other attacks?

How about france being a wonderful cultural place with an electric atmosphere....and every country has its riots...

Simply those who failed to assimilate should be sent. Of course you need pay them some cash.

when you say assimilate - do you mean those that dont speak the language? dont eat the same food? dont have the same religion? prefer to live with "their own kind"? Sell their own food in their own shops?

OK, so lets sacrifice France :)

Dont worry, Poland is in the EU now, you will get your fair share too :)

OMG, you leaned nothing from the mistakes of French immigration policy.

Neither did England, but maybe we will work on it....

Hard, very funny... Most British whom declare to be Anglican doing this from nationalist/traditionalist reason not religious.

sorry can you repeat that , I dont understand.

But you somehow blame religion for this.

I was merely stating that forcing someone to study religion that will in no way help them with their careers is in turn going to have a knockon affect.

the more I found it to be the path I wanted to follow

Would imagine its quite an univentful path, quite a boring religion if you take away the suicide bombers and death threats to cartoonists and novelists...and odd honour killing.

Religion in the UK is marginal factor. Few Poles went to the UK and some time ago I read British media claiming that already number of masses going Catholics is bigger than Anglicans

Thats not going to be hard and probably more muslims going to the mosqe than catholics - what is your point?

Perhaps you are not as much intelligent as you think? Otherwise why would you claim that religion is supposed to provide somebody a good job?

read my post again, I said quite the opposite.

In what country they are forced?

I would say compulsary is forced, no?

I really dont understand how in this day and age religion can be such a strong influence on people, maybe 200 years ago when people were not as inteligent or had fewer choices but in 2007, it beggers belief and how is making someone take religion going to help them get a good job? Life is a bout choices and I think an 18 year old can make up their own mind if they want to continue to study religion, it should not be forced.

just my 2p worth

Certainly one interpretation of the relevant verses is that apostates should be killed. Not all Muslims accept that interpretation

A great number of younger muslims agree and almost all interviewed agreed to a certain extent that if not killed they should be punished (recent documentary on).

A religion that as far as I am concerned is based on lies - man made lies - doesn't sit well with me. It insights hatred and oppression. Like people have said Christians are forgiving and because we are Westernised then we are more liberable in these matters, inbred pakistani muslims, however, are not.

In the Jewish religion it’s not look upon favourably to marry out of the faith but there are no murders and very rarely people are cut off financially these days whilst most cultures evolve and move on, Islam goes backwards....less forgiving and more controlling!

News / Poland adopting the Euro, but when? [65]

Really, you'd be surprised. I was discussing an ad for Wizz Air with a colleague (fairly smart individual) recently - he didn't get the line "get a loty for your zloty" until I explained that the Euro wasn't the currency in Poland.

And smart does not = well travelled does it now :)

Do you know what the currency of Croatia is? Do you know what the currency for Hungary is? do you know what the currency for Latvia is? and to be honest I have no idea what loty and zloty would have in common?

UK, Ireland / 13,000 Polish births this year, in the UK [180]

I am sure there will be lots of jobs in UK for Polish doctors and nurses

Let me educate you here - last year only 1 in 5 newly qualified nurses got jobs because of the shortages of places in hospitals - for midwifes its even less its about 1 - 30 .....so I would completely disagree, we have enough already that cant get jobs..

What is the difference between... Poles who work in Britain and send money home.... and Brits who have been working in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf, since the 70's.

The Brits don't or at least didn't pay tax and they worked with the express reason of sending money home to build their future.

I can't see any real difference between the two.

And don't forget the days of "Auf Wiedersehen Pet". Ten to a room and sending money home.

The way I see it you don't have a valid arguement

Im not meaning to nit pick here but there is a substantial difference

1) They were there on contracts and their companies provided private health care - so there was no cost to the tax paying Saudi - accommodation was generally apartments on ex pat complexes

2) if they did take their families with them, the kids go to private schools with English teachers.

3) Brits didnt go there in their millions and they were highly skilled engineers / pipe fitters etc.

4) re builders going to Germany - they went on contracts and didnt take the family, and they would have paid tax when they got back home - and they didnt go to germany in the 100,000's or take kids with them.

4) Im sure that the Brits that went to Germany spent plenty of their hard earned cash in the boozers whilst they were there :)

News / Poland adopting the Euro, but when? [65]

It's amazing how many people in the UK think that the Euro is already the currency in Poland. Before my last trip, my dad offered to give me some Euros that he had left over from his trip to France :)

I would have thought it would be a surprisingly few actually since their currency is advertised...same as the Czech currency on most currency lists in most exchange places these days.

secondworldwar.co.uk/dates.html

Churchill waited for three years before launching attack on Normandy in order to cope with a german army weakened and exhausted from the slaughter in eastern front.

Would strongly recommend you do not do it with a guid, they go round to fast, first time I went I did it with a guid, second I went with a group of friends and we did it on our own...so much better.

We paid a taxi driver 80zl each and he took us between the two sites and waited for us and paid for guid books ect..(btw the taxi driver was the person who picked us up from the airport so we had met him prior to that day)

UK, Ireland / Are polish pupils harming native british childrens education? [280]

Patrycja. First of all, I never mentioned the American educational system in my posts. Your whole story is about a school in the US. Second, I never stated that some schools (both US and british) may indeed lack proper funding. Third, how does your story relate to the topic of this discussion?

Patty was just explaining that problems happen in the US in education - now apologise for being a ****!

Well I dont see any other kunts on this thread do you?

doesnt everyone deserve a good education if it can be provided..

Everyone does, the problem at the moment in the UK kids are not getting a fair whack at it. simply because the lack of resources and diverting rescoursing to what most british think is a complete waste of money....
