Food / What is your choice for frying,cooking and baking? [9]

Here in America. We no longer see LARD in the stores anymore
Everything is shortening,oils or butter.
Growing up my Mom used northing but Lard to fry with. Lard used to fry chrusciki, pounczki. is the best. In America's south thats all that they use to fry chicken, and make pie crust,and biscuits.

SO why dont people use lard anymore?

Ok Guys & Girls come to my rescue.
Growing up as a Polish American, my Mom made peas and Saurkraut for Xmas eve.
NOW! Do I have to soak the peas or do I just cook them with the saurkraut?

It seems while you have posted your data, topic was moved or closed and your data can not be posted. Sorry!

Shewolf;
Why are you telling Rafik all of that garbage. Sure we have hurricanes. We have snakes. and gators too. I have lived here for 35 years and have yet to see a snake in the wild. Gators yes, if you look for them.

I dont speak spanish or mexican. But I never had a problem with them. LA has many more Mexicans than all of Florida
They also have EL NINO, the Santa Anna winds, and are sitting right on the San Andreas fault waiting for the big quake.
The rest of America has tornado's. SO WHAT.
And oh yes. We have loads of Polish people here. They are not concentrated like in the Northern Cities. But trust me.. We are here

RAFIK;
You can do better than what you quoted. It is now a buyers market in Florida.
You can buy a beautiful 2000 sq. ft. house with three bedrooms, two baths,a two car garage and pool on a nice lot for under $ 200.000.,00.

Unskilled labor starts at $13.00 an hour, Skilled labor can go up to $30.00 an hour.
FLORIDA is GODS country.

USA, Canada / MOSLEMISATION OF HAMTRAMCk! [2]

[quote=Polonius3]Polonius3
Today, 11:57 Report #1

Yeah, I remember when that was a hot issue. Some guy would climb up on a tower and call through a loud speaker for all the Muslims to come for prayer. Five times a day. This wore on the people of Hamtramck. The people of Hamtramck took it to court to stop that practice.

The Muslims countered with the argument.( What is the difference whether the faithful are called to prayer by loud speaker or by church bells) The Muslims won. That practice is continued until today.

I got it all figured out. Heating oil will double in price, to over $4.00 a gallon. I have two fireplaces and a large stand of hardwood on my property. My place is well stocked with firewood. If I get snowed in. Then there are always deer at my door begging for food. NAW! IM only kidding. There is no way that I would shoot one of them

Here is another url telling us not to worry. You guy's have me thinking like you now. I too am going to question these claims. Let them put up, or shut up.

As far as nuclear goes. That scares the hell out of me. I still remember three mile island in PA. That was only 70 miles from me. We were scared. Then there was Chernobyl. Now China is having nightmares.

I looked at your profile. Where are you. GB?

Hey, with all sarcasm's aside. I am on your side. I just wish that this situation never came up. Now am I concerned?. You darn right I am. I worry about my kids, and what the future brings. I am not smart enough to rectify this problem. So when I see someone tell me things that eases my worries. I just hope that they know what they are talking about.

Now on the silly side. I read one of Patrycia's post about cow gas fouling our air. Maybe somebody can figure out a way to harness that energy. LOL. I just had to say that.

USA, Canada / Gas prices in America [127]

Edited by: VaFunkoolo Today, 13:48 Report #111

Oh, thats all right then.

The fact that conventional oil prices are high obviously negates the fact that oil shale production is expensive, wasteful and environmentally hazardous. Silly me for not realising that earlier.

No problem. Even a fish would not get into trouble if he kept his mouth shut.

Oil shale production is expensive, wasteful and environmentally hazardous. It is only now, when conventional oil prices are high, that oil shale production has become feasible.

Above is one is one reason that I am not too concerned about this oil thing. America is about to wake up.
We also have the largest oil shale deposit in the world. Most of it on government land.
We have untapped oil reserves in Alaska. The only thing holding that up are the,tree huggers and nature freaks.

Now the only thing needed is a government with B**** to get things going

Miranda; All that we ever used was Campbells soup.

Wroclaw Boy.;
I use sour cream in my dough. It makes it really tender.
My favorite is sweet cabbage,sauted in chopped onions.
Sealed, boiled until they surface.and fried on low speed in chopped onions and butter. JESUS MARIA ALE SMACZNE
