UK, Ireland / England, Dirty, Expensive and a dangerous place to live? [205]

Um, well, in a way yes. Certain countries impose limits on immigration. You open the floodgates once and they are very hard to close. Britain used other countries through colonisation so why can't other countries use Britain?

Life / Poles' tolerance towards other Races [190]

In all likelihood, you'll just get looks. Even I get that as a white Scot (generally by older people). I feel like telling them to feck off and avert their gaze as I'm not that different. Just avoid certain housing estates and you'll be fine.

UK, Ireland / England, Dirty, Expensive and a dangerous place to live? [205]

It would seem that the English are sensitive to the observations of others. Some places there are dirty and some are clean, end of story. As for the crime part, this could be fleshed out more.

Statistics are available online, the culmination of extensive research and reporting.

Food / Who drinks fruit juices in Poland? Best Polish juice makers? [25]

I think that fruit juices will be drunk more and more by the younger generation. Coca-Cola have Cappy here and I've just discovered that Pepsi have Toma. These add to an already impressive list of fruit juice drunk by young/active people.

Mostly females mix.

News / Polish Poland vs westernized Poland [6]

More variety was introduced. Milk bars still exist in 'westernised' Poland. I think that was a positive development as why should you be confined to only what your country produces? Also, it is a question of degree.

I wouldn't want to live in America as they have virtually everything and when they come to eat Malaysian cuisine in Malaysia, Polish cuisine in Poland, Italian cuisine in Italy etc etc, it won't come as such a big surprise to them. Oftentimes, curiosity is sth a person must have and, in today's upwardly mobile global village, many have the finances to see for themselves.

For those that don't, there's always Google Images :)

Life / Wonderful Poland.......but the attitude of Polish people [150]

A temperament more than an attitude??? Please explain how you see the difference. Highlanders are renowned for their temperament but attitude is a more general thing. Don't want to debate anything???? Nonsense. Have you been at a flat/house where people have had a few voddies? They are NOT backward in coming forward with their views.

Factions within the UK are more interested in getting their hands on guns than here in Poland. That's an issue for the police there.

They know who the father is, LOL, that was nice!!

That's Poland's choice. Giving cash benefits is fine if you have it but communism was hardly about maximising the wealth and GDP of the country. Poland is more Polska dla Polaków. I don't like that but it's not for me to introduce a sea change in their attitude.

I really agree with the rest of what you had to say. The disparity between rich and poor will only get bigger as the rich have the means and contacts to accumulate ever greater sums of wealth. Many crooks seem to slip under the radar too by escaping to France and other places. I think you made that point.

You are spot on with tax brackets. I can't complain personally but I remember discussing it with a Vattenfall director, a really genuine bloke. Also with a senior engineer at Isover, a genius of a man. They both painted the same picture, that the government swipes vast sums from under their noses. There are so many good people in Poland who know what is going on but are powerless to change it. God Bless such Poles!!

Life / Wonderful Poland.......but the attitude of Polish people [150]

Sensitivity hasn't led to harshness with me. Many are on edge but there are also many 'spokojnie' types here. More to the point is that they are ready to speak out and that's a good thing in their case. No more trampling without a fight :)

Likely low as Poland isn't really a gun culture.

Poland managed the crisis quite well. If the Bank of England wasn't so corrupt, with close ties to the evil gits in the Fed, then they'd perhaps have the honour of the Polish banking sector.

Very few Islamic radicals live here and that's a good thing.

The state provides reasonably well for some.

Poland doesn't pitch itself as an asylum haven. It doesn't have the resources yet to provide on a large scale. It was under communism for so long so Brits should understand that.

Picking up that tab is the price you pay for fully embracing a multicultural society.

It often doesn't pay to work. They screw you here. 1600PLN in insurance and tax alone, what a shambles.

News / 14 year old rape victim from Warsaw denied abortion! [348]

Lesser, not everyone uses the RCC as the benchmark of honourable morality. Reason and rationality rule the day, laddie. Not self-righteous impositional morality that you espouse (of the RCC). After all, insanity is, according to the Scottish courts, 'the total alienation of reason'. You are decidedly moving in that direction. We have laws in place, let the legal system serve its function and stop deciding for everyone.

By knocking western legal systems, you are again being disrespectul with your holier-than-thou attitude. I studied the Dutch abortion provisions in detail and they really address the issues with an open mind and through a balanced/objective lens. The difference is, Polish right-wingers take the high ground without fully understanding the complexities inherent to the matter. Your arguments are far from cogent.

Not taking innocent life is a stated want but it's a qualified one. It's a general desire which cannot always be realised. Like M-G said, we don't condone random abortions based on people's carelessness. However, rape often involves no fault of the woman. You keep ducking the practicalities put by M-G and Mafketis.

They can have the same DNA code, yes. That changes very little as you'd be bringing the child into a world based on criminal wrongdoing. How could a woman have any pride from a baby spawned from rape??

You won't get many better fathers than I, Lesser. My compassion and dedication ensures that. I'd love a kid that was my own, not some rapist's. What animal instinct? More sense than me? Maybe there are some but that rings true for most.

Again, you show your black and white vision. Can't you see that one material factor could tip the balance in favour of another decision? Life is complicated and your dictatorial narrow-mindedness places you well down the pecking order in terms of your ability to evaluate and reach a reasoned position.

The process is made much easier if the child is still inside the woman. The child hasn't yet taken its first breath and hasn't yet started to give the feelings of joy that a newborn in your arms gives. It seems like you advocate the bearing of a criminal's child. How about his DNA, Lesser? How about his conduct? Do you approve of creating more criminal life?

Biological in that I want a kid of my own? From where I'm sitting, that's what most men want. Practical was the word that you were looking for. And in this, you come up very short as you have no conception of the living reality of having an alien child. I failed to comment on what??? I have answered your questions.

Laziness?? It's women who bear children, not men :) :) Egoism??? How on earth can that play a part here?

If she accepts the child then that is her choice. I never denied her that choice. Let her have a child by a man that she loves. Then she'll see the value of life and nurturing.

Accepted as the father? According to formalities, yes, but again and again you are missing the emotional bond that is so important. A kid should have a father that he loves and is the fruit of his labour. Why should a woman be a conduit for wrongdoing? The social stigma of rape doesn't need to be stated but she must live with this knowledge.

M-G, Lesser is in my pocket. He can generally argue well but he's losing by force here.

UK, Ireland / England, Dirty, Expensive and a dangerous place to live? [205]

I can't condone their loutish behaviour but they are from estates where it is fashionable to be neddish/chavvy. I wouldn't mind them drinking on benches, as long as they didn't harrass others and let them get on with it.

I remember some bus trips in Scotland and I couldn't wait to get away from those obnoxious cnuts.

News / WAŁĘSA TO AGITATE FOR LISBON IN EIRE [19]

Especially if he is there for personal reasons or on behalf of Poland. Leave voting alone. You see what happened in Afghanistan and Iran, unwanted outside involvement.

Food / Chocolate flavored vodka [11]

RedKola vodka was great. Calories in a glass but tasty :) We had Mars Bar vodka too in Aberdeen. The Vodka Bar should reopen, Poles would love it.

News / WAŁĘSA TO AGITATE FOR LISBON IN EIRE [19]

Drastically slashes Poland's voting power? How so? They (the Irish) have been given sweeteners with Protocols attached but I feel that the reasons they voted no in the first place still remain. Expect another no vote.

When did Kenya enter the war? ;) ;) Wait, maybe Obama can shed some light on that, if only he could find his birth certificate. He's a mongrel pending further proof ;) ;)

UK, Ireland / England, Dirty, Expensive and a dangerous place to live? [205]

It has its dirty parts, like most countries. It's no Switzerland, Sweden or Singapore. 3 S's, hmm, I wonder what happened to Scotland ;) ;)

Expensive it most certainly is for many things. I know a guy who taught here for some time, then moved back. He is back in Poland again after a short stint in England. He is English and said that the prices are what got him.

Dangerous? It's getting more and more dangerous due to the rise of the BNP and gun-related crime. Knives too. I know a Brummy guy who now lives in OZ. He said that he'd never go back permanently due to the violence that you can encounter.

Life / Why do Poles drink so much? [161]

Yeah, Warka started that movement. You can buy a 1.5l bottle of Warka (normal) in a few places here. It works 2 ways, either you get more drunk or you drink it more like you'd drink Coke (i.e progressively).

News / What needs to happen in the world so that Poland and Russia form alliance? [297]

Is it any surprise that this famous Pole, Kazik Staszewski, finishes by mentioning that war is ongoing in Russia? It's rather comical that he opens the song with some German.

His lyrics are hilarious :) Amsterdam gets a mention here, M-G.

A core Europe is a fine theory. M-G, maybe you'd care to step forward and write the Animal Farm type account of this? :)

How come I don't see all this super bread in Poland? There are soooooo many top varieties I've heard about but never see :( :(
