Life / What is the nature of Polish people's hygiene? [76]

I think the reason Polish people don't wash is due to the fact water is expensive and cosmetics are hard to get hold of over here without a permit

No really, It seems to be the case.

Try public transport in the UK..I actually got off the bus half way through my journey a couple of months ago because my eyes were watering because of the wif! Strangely enough it wasnt a Pole that had seated themselves next to me! Not unless he'd spent a considerable time on a sun-bed!

it might not be disastrous during say winter but gets foul in summer

Trust me even in winter the bus can smell like old man pants in the UK...they crank up the heating and the windows are stut it can be even worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UK, Ireland / Sad life of a Polish migrant in UK. Ch. 3 - Food [93]

You are in England, what do you expect?Greeks and Italians are almost starving in the first months in UK(till they get somewhat used).

Stop lying..there's plenty of Greek restaurants and the Italians have pretty much cornered the market for mediterranean food,..Also we have a little thing callled "super markets" shock horror!!!! You can buy meat and veg and prepare you own! Southern you are such tw*t at times! Most Greek men could do with starving themselves a bit anyway! They're not short of a few lbs!

News / Should rape carry a life sentence in Poland? [146]

The logic here is weird at times.

I even tried along the lines of "what if it was a normal guy" he just sank even lower in conversation and said he didnt know what he would do if some girl (who was young) came up to him in a club and he was off his head on booze and ecstasy and unzipped his jeans and proceeded to blow him - he totally made out it was this girls fault! :( Maybe they just secretly think its okay to sh*g children! I must remember not to buy any dress up stuff for my niece just in case there are some dodgy Poles living near to where she lives ;0)

News / Should rape carry a life sentence in Poland? [146]

I wonder if those that slated rapists are now slating PolaƄski, hmm...

I doubt it I had a conversation with one of our Polish secondees and he actually thought it was part the fault of the girl! She was dressed up and wearing make-up and her mum took her to the party..oh that make it all okay to abuse a 13 year old! WTF?? He went on to mention how Polanskies life had been ruined by it and he made wonderful films..(I couldnt work out how his life had been ruined if he had gone on to do so well?)

UK, Ireland / Sad life of a Polish migrant in UK. Ch. 1 - Staring [43]

I prefer people who are aware of what is going on around them.

I am aware of what is going on around me, but I prefer not to stare at people in restaurants while they are eating or stare at people in the street, some people dont like it. It has IMO got nothing to do with "being aware" Im happy to walk down the street with my own thoughts, if Im in the countryside I am quite happy to take in what is beautiful around me, there is a difference.

I hate this about the anglo-saxons. They - we - are so dull and stupid by comparison.

Really? Ever thought, we've got better things to do than stare at random strangers or wasn't you ever told growing up "its rude to stare?" I personally enjoy people watching but there is a time and a place.

Love / How Many Dates Before Sex in Poland? [86]

People may confused into thinking that shelleys tale of cider in the park sex is fantasy...

Why do you think I was confused?

Try any number of slum cities and towns in the UK on Friday and Saturday nights it is a normal way of life for working class 14 year olds...

Try and remember the amount of nice middle class areas where they are doing exactly the same! Do you think only working class people are sh*gging under age and getting pregnant..Hey, I'll let you in to a little secret my sister-in-law did her PHd on it and presented paper in Aus on the subject..I think I know a bit more than you dickforbrains!

Its called broken britain for a reason :-)

No we are called broken Britain because we have destroyed our society...economics plays a big part..not just a few teenage pregnancies...You are stupid!

I remember one guy who lived on an island and told me that in some cases english girls get so drunk that many men fek them while unconscious. He told me one night he saw a big bunch of guys waiting in a row,he got near and saw they all waited to fek a girl who lay drunk with her feet open.My friend decided to wait in the row as well but he told me the experience was not particularly hot,it was like fekking a corpse.

Thats called RAPE!

How bloody inconsiderate! Could you not have gone and had word with him?

But had they been drinking cider?

UK, Ireland / Sad life of a Polish immigrant in the UK. Ch. 2 - Stress [63]

Can we have a wip round so we can send this miserable kant back to Poland?

The UK still sadly hasn't learnt that long hours doesn't mean productivity - and this is one reason I don't want to go back. There's something very wrong with the macho attitude that "oh, I worked 13 hours yesterday, you only did 12, you're not dedicated enough".

High profile projects with a client that wants it like yesterday, mean people have work like pack horses to get it out of the door, because we are not the only consultancy in the UK..I work with some pretty damn inteligent people who are shithot at their jobs...they'll be working this weekend and will be working until circa. 10pm every night next week, in order to please the "client"...by the way, they dont get paid for the extra time...its just expected.

UK, Ireland / Sad life of a Polish immigrant in the UK. Ch. 2 - Stress [63]

Everyone takes it easy in Britain

Really, can you tell my team that because last time I looked most are in for 08:00 and dont leave until circa. 19:00, yeah sure we take it really easy!

You don't fret over the politics as much as we do,

Really? So we dont worry about the mess our goverment has caused with mass immigration? Hmm insteresting..

TVN living in a state of permanent catastrophe.

Nope we have had months of talk about economic downturn and 1,000s of people losing their jobs and companies going to the wall left right and centre!! Yeah our news is full of the fun stuff! Not to mention crime...

This is what draws people over here, that lack of stress.

LOL LOL LOL LOL...

This is what makes people not care what job they are in - even if it's 200 pounds per week, at least the petrol is dirt cheap.

Is that what you earn? You think petrol is cheap..oh okay..

but at work

Tough, if you dont like it, you know what you can do :D

Life / Poles that have lived or live abroad are they different? [68]

One of our secondees at work told me a story: (he's been in the UK for about 6 months now, but with trips home in between)

He went to a ticket booth to get a ticket and said "good afternoon" and was greeted with "this machine is out of order" ( in a rude horrible way)

He got his ticket in the end:

When he left he said "My Lady, I didn't ask if your machine was out of order, I just said good afternoon!"...

I said to him, I thought it was a cultural thing in Poland to be a bit abrupt, he said "No, its a lack of culture"

This is a Polish guy saying this!

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

Er, they don't have the same rights to benefits. In fact a Pole who has worked in the UK for two years and paid NI during that time has less rights to benefits than a Brit who has never worked a day in his life (or one who has never worked a legal day in his life).

Wrong, a friend of mine who has been back here for only 3 months is claiming child allowance (put his claim form in the first week he got back) - been back here for 2 minutes and is back claiming something...As for the Brit who has never worked...well, he's a Brit, let us worry about our own...I hate them as much as the next hard working person.

Would you prefer that those family members came to the UK and so became an expense for the NHS and whatever is left of the British education system? If anything, child benefit payments should be higher for people who keep their children outside the UK!

LOL...Do you know how stupid that sounded??? Why SHOULD we do anything? I actually like the system they have in place in Dubia, 'foreingers' pay NO tax but you pay for health care and schooling is private...let's see how attractive the UK would be then! Look how the Indians are treated in construction and the service industry over there? Getting the picture Harry?

UK, Ireland / Sad life of a Polish migrant in UK. Ch. 1 - Staring [43]

Of course she's lying - if it was a black Londoner, they would have said "Oi blud" at some point, but clearly he didn't. :)

But he had a nice suit on, maybe he'd had a bad day in court ;0)

Looks like ola123 has returned though, doesn't it. What's up ksysia, can't get your hands on "the English land"? haha! :)

Her council flat has just been demolished, she's upset!

Brits are generally more confrontational when people are rude dude to the fact theyre not used to it.

Not quite true, we have our share of rude people in the UK...Also I dont think we are confrontational...we'll just generally moan if some barsteward does something wrong, or say "Excuse Me" or "Do You Mind" in a rather high pitched voice...

I have never heard of a Polish chav who would actually kill someone for telling them to shut up on public transport (or any similar story for that matter). Please compare with the unfortunate bloke who told a guy to stop throwing chips at his girlfriend (London bus, upper deck) and got stabbed to death for it. There has been a similar more recent incident happen along the same lines, but don't remember the details.

Totally agree with you, but do you really agree with the OP? Or do you think she is a bit of a liar?

Actually I think you must be doing something wrong, because Ive never in all my born days had anything like that happen in any city in the UK and I've visited many of them, London a considerable amount of times, from what I remember people are generally too busy to notice other people or too busy admiring their own reflection in windows!

So you are either lying or a complete freak who attracts this kind of attention.

News / ARE POLISH PEOPLE TAKING OUR JOBS OR DOING OUR JOBS??!! DISCUSS. [126]

This is the problem - Brits feel that they deserve to live DECENTLY. The problem is that - why should anyone who didn't bother to educate themselves and who didn't bother to actually work towards anything deserve anything at all except a roof over their heads and food?

Is that right? Oh okay.

I find it bizzare that minimum wage workers DEMAND AND EXPECT plasma televisions, game consoles, foreign holidays, a nice car and so on.

I dont recall anyone saying anything about the above, I was talking about people not worrying about being able to be pay the electric or gas bill...oh hang on you're going to suggest they sit in the dark and freeze in the winter! People being able to save a little bit so they can maybe afford a little luxury item every now and again, by that I mean a day out for the family...

I think you are confusing chavs off some council estate who have never worked, with hard working class people, who for what ever reason didn't have the opportunity to go to university. Men that work 60/70 hours a week for a very low wage, therefore dont have the time for further education because maybe, just maybe they want to spend a bit of time with their family when do have the time. They're not living 10 to a 2 bed flat and sending money home to pay for a cheap mortgage, they are paying over the odds for a house in the UK and working their bolloxs off to keep their heads above water.

You should really think about what you are writing, maybe you've been out of the UK for too long and are out of touch with the reality of it here.

News / ARE POLISH PEOPLE TAKING OUR JOBS OR DOING OUR JOBS??!! DISCUSS. [126]

Haven't you heard yet that " poles do the jobs that brits don't want to do" is a lie.

Always has been, but the British press love to put the Brits down..of course we are all lazy benefit sroungers...

As for Delphs diet, student eat like that because they cant aford to, do you honestly think I want to slog my guts out for 37.5 hours a week so I can eat like a student?

So people should just have to like it or lump it, is that what your saying?.

Evidently we are greedy for wanting a better life! We now have a culture of casual labour in this country...more and more companies moving away from traditional employment, but towards a like it or lump here are the (lack of) conditions..This does not make for a stable economy...It just doesnt make sense how in 10 years we have ruined this country.

Food / Is there McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut etc in Poland? Food survey. [222]

jonni

Greggs is heaven in the shape of a pasty ;0)

So people have swapped fast food for something which is of far worse quality?

How rude, have you never tried a cheese & onion pasty from there????

but I bought some pasties there once, and they were almost inedible,

:(

how about italy?

I think in countries like Spain, Italy and Greece, the locals prefer to cook still and they probably have the best food in europe so why would they want to eat McD's its rotten.

sweetie, this is exactly what a 7-11 shop is

We have the Co-op that open till 11pm and they sell "fresh" food...so not all just sell convenience kack

Out of interest do you thing these: Taybarns places would do well here.

I'd never heard of them...and in all honesty and these Brewers Fayers do 2 4 1, all you can eat just encorages people to eat more, yeh! we become an even fatter nation...Did you see the size of the people in the photo shots?

Life / Communion, why do only half of church-goers in Poland take it? [41]

All it takes is an hour out of their working week or even go on the weekend.

Confession on Saturday is generally what happens...less chance of being with sin on a Sunday that way.

Just a qucki Seanus, why does it bother you so much? it doesnt make someone a bad Catholic just because they dont receive communion every Sunday, I have a friend who whilst he goes to church every Sunday, he doesnt feel comfortable going to his priest here (he does when he back in Poland) for confession, so he does not take communion whilst he is in the UK.

Maybe they haven't been confirmed.

That has nothing to do with it, we take our first holy communion before we are confirmed:

First Confession.
First Holy Communion.
Confirmation.

The British will never really comprehend this.

Hmmm...we used to be a big church going nation, also if you remember we WERE a Roman Catholic country, I went to a Roman Catholic school...we understand a little bit more than you give us credit for sweety.

Well, they're not. And they traditionally haven't been.

Darling they wear name badge in all the supermarkets..no magdas or Polish and none of them are pakis...We are doing our own jobs! Or at leat in Manchester...maybe different in Scotland...maybe??

Crap. This is based on something I don't know

Maybe you live iin a different world..

Food is fresh often in this house and come nowhere near 100 a month.

£25 per week to live and eat on fresh food? and you think I over estimated??? a pack of decent bacon costs me £3, broccoli can cost me £2 for a bunch...I love my fresh veg and fruit...£25 was a conservitive estimate..and didnt include what I spend on sandwiches for lunch! I shop in Aldi now and it still costs me when I buy from there you have to use on the day..it doesnt last! So I tend to buy on a daily basis.

TV, land line and Internet is coming at £40 a month thanks to Virgin can be

I have BT and pay £22 (my bad on my first listing) plus on my o2 contract I pay £5 for broadband..Plus by mobile which I pay £25 per month..thats £53 just on communications a month!

Thats an underestimate if you ask me, PD are you talking form a single womens perspective?

She is talking from a bollox point of view as usual...I gave estimates sweety...lower end...She must also eat like a dog routing in bins because £100 per month was a very estimate.....I like to eat fresh food and "good" meat!

you're taking our girls

Aparently not, since most of the guys on here think they are hoes! (do they like gardening?)
