News / Poland wants $55bln of new roads for Euro 2012 [51]

They're just very small minority, and can just scream loud, but in fact do nothing.

These '88' folks are starting to feature more and more on news items. They pose just as much of a risk to Euro 2012 as the roads. If the media latch onto these folks and spread the word then the damage will be difficult to clean up.

I mention this as a possibility, nothing more.

Maybe its time for the Polish workers to come back home to Poland

I have mentioned, more than once, that German workers are already here.

This project doesn't stand a hope in Hell of being completed. Every time a road is planned Joe Public sees it as a chance to make money. The government will have to settle with farmers, alotment owners and home owners who will hold up the process. There is a myriad of other problems too.

Anyone who thinks it will reach completion in time is living in cloud cuckoo land.

Well - he does text her all the time but doesn't ring as too expensive, it was in the front of his wallet - he went to pay for something at the till and she couldn't miss it - I still think it's kinda nice really - I've had similar cards sent to me but have never put them in my purse unless they meant something (which they rarely did :.) - thanks though

Understood. And now I know more I understand your frustration. They have plenty time to figure things out.

If he had feelings he might have phoned etc.

UK, Ireland / Glasgow primary schools for the Polish community? [18]

I'm hoping that someone will tell me they came over here and there kids started school and loved it,

This may help.
On Saturday I was talking to a 17yr old who had spent two days at a school in Edinburgh a few years ago.
Her thoughts were:
Bigger classrooms, teachers were different, smaller class size, different subjects, swimming pool, grass [decent sports grounds], cookery classes.

I got the idea that the differences made it interesting for her. But it was only a five minute chat so I can't add any more.

I did and the shape of the cross looked like Krzyz Walecznych, but it gets pixelized at higher zoom.

Have a look at the photo through a magnifying glass and then report back to us.
You might find a date or other info, which won't get pixelated.

Could it be that she feels guilty about being with you when her father was sick.
Maybe she blames herself and possibly you.
All you can do is be there if she needs you and keep your distance when she doesn't. Knowing when, is the difficult bit.

There might be other things on her mind too, but now is not the best time [for either of you] to discuss them.

Look what I found Wroclaw!! :))))

All new to me. All my research so far has been in the UK. I just try to apply what I know from the UK records to Polish records. Much of it seems to be similar.

isthatu might be able to help with regard to the uprising.

Check a few military websites for additional help.

Unusual records. A persons Will, property records, school records.

Have her make a list of addresses and then take loads of photos.

An aside. At the weekend I bumped into someone who'd flown from LA to take a photo of the family home. Unfortunately it had been built over many years ago. I sort of shared her sorrow.

The Polish National Archive website has pages in English.

I didn't read the article on dentists in Wroclaw. But I can tell you that at least one has a branch office in the Chicago area. Poland's dentists are doing well.

Life / Recording Studios in Poland?? [4]

I am looking for details for some recording studios in Poland.

Loads of them in Wroclaw. However, I don't know how big they all are. I do know that a number of them are not suited to 'rock bands'.

My advice would be to check the floor area of any studio.
