News / New York Post : "Polish" Death Camps and more [278]

Three times yes!

It's probably time to leave poland.....????? ******* idiot.

I would love to see you take your anti-polish sentiments to the streets of warsaw, especially outside a football stadium after a game with skin heads around.

(other than some Jews, who obviously aren't Polish anyway)

Jews are jews above their "nationality" of whatever country they reside in. You should know this, shlomo.

News / New York Post : "Polish" Death Camps and more [278]

Have you ever been to Poland? Let me be blunt here, not offensive just absolutely honest, an average Pole is abso-fuking-lutely stupid, he's primitive. undeducated, indoctrinated, he's a simpleton.

If you want proof just read some of our Polish posters, the mind boggles, they think that because a New York tabloid doesn't correctly insert the word 'German-occupied', the whole world thinks that the Nazi death camps were Polish run!

Wow harry, harsh words for the people you live and work with everyday. I bet your partner is a pole, and your kids (or future kids) are/will be half stupid, primitive, uneducated, indoctrinate and simpletons. It is mind boggling how miserable and ****** up you are. I guess this is what happens to people like you who fail to establish careers in your home countries and have to resort to moving to such "primitive" countries like poland.

Regarding the polish vs nazi death camps, it is important to refer to them as having been nazi german camps because if they are allowed to be called polish camps then this will eventually make its way into history books!!!! This is why poles get angry when they read this ****! Few people are knowledgeable in history...

Telling lies about the past does not help Poland to deal with its past and move forwards. It doesn't matter whether those lies are saying that Poland ran death camps or that Poland never ran any concentration camps, the effect of the lie is the same.

Why don't you stop lieing?

You mean expell all the Germans from the 'recovered territories'?

Take this part of the discussion to "russian forums."

Harry, please read "eye for an eye" by John Sack (yes, he's one of your jewish brothers). He writes about jewish run death camps in poland after the krauts were driven out. All sides have blood on their hands.

Life / Prescription Medicines - Do Polish doctors get Commission? [7]

Cardno ask your doctor about "singulair." I have very minor asthma, usually i have a difficult time breathing when its really cold or really hot so most of the time i'm alright and don't need any medication. However when i do find myself coughing and struggling to breathe i usually take a singulair pill before bed.

It's not cheap though (~$5/pill) so if cost is an issue then you should probably look into a generic drug or find an insurance plan that covers it.

Love / WHY DO YOUNGER POLES FEAR MARRIAGE? [6]

Can't say that it is a uniquely Polish phenomenon. Many kids today want to finish school, bum around for a year, start and get well established in a career before they settle down. There are so many more women in the workforce now (compared to 40 years ago...), and in more senior positions in corporations. They feel the need to out-compete men, just to be seen as "on the same level as them", that time devoted to family falls by the wayside. This is common in Canada and the US.

Yes, shawn is right. In canada the average age of marriage now is somewhere between 29-33, while some 50 years ago it was in the low 20's. People in their 20's (both men/women) are also working on finding a career and they want to spend these best years of their lives travelling, having fun, etc. Statistically the earlier a couple marries, the higher the probability of divorce is.

Do they suspect the opposite sex of being gold-diggers (after them for their money, citizenship) or what?

Why would a Polish person be after another Polish person for citizenship?

This mostly applies to polish women's desperation in marrying a foreigner, not pole-pole marriage.

Real Estate / Questions about renting a flat in Wroclaw. [7]

Yes you can live a simple lifestyle on that salary. Many poles have to live on less!

As for finding a room to rent, as a foreigner you will be charged more for rent. It would be great if you could find a polish speaker to look for a room on your behalf. A 1 bedroom flat shouldn't cost more than 600-800zl/month in wroclaw, for example.

Life / POLISH INSECTS CAN RUIN YOUR LIFE.... [27]

I THINK THESE TICS ARE CALLED "KLESZCZE" IN POLISH. A COUPLE OF MY COUSINS HAVE BECOME SICK (FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS) AFTER BEING BITTEN BY THESE PESTS. GOING TO GET CHECKED BY A DOCTOR IS PROBABLY A BETTER IDEA THAN SITTING AND WAITING TO GET SICK.

Study / Celta - Application Form [24]

My markers were pretty critical too, it was one of the best schools in Europe.

For future reference, where are the easiest CELTA schools in europe?

Life / Are Polish people civilised or not? My thoughts... [52]

I have found Polish people especially they guys that come to Ireland to be rather obnoxious, rude and very loud and to be honest intimidating looking people

What about brits coming to poland for stag/shag weekends????? I don't think i've ever met any more abnoxious people in my life!

shaggable but not dating material.

Unfortunately i have to somewhat agree with you here. Many do let themselves go way to easy with foreigners in poland as well. It's VERY difficult to find a decent girl in poland if you're a foreigner.

Also do Polish migrant workers have no shame? When the work dries up - they should really look elsewhere - instead of sponging off the Irish state, Our taxes are being hiked to pay for these unemployed migrant workers...

This part surprises me. Poles in canada are generally hard working and very few are unemployed. Other immigrants are more known for leeching off the system here...

Travel / Prague to Auschwitz/Krakow - safety? [10]

IMO trains in poland are safe. When you get on a train, try to sit in a cabin with normal looking people in it already - avoid sitting alone. I've travelled from prague-wroclaw and prague-krakow on trains before and felt quite safe. As for your skin colour, i believe you should be fine in the big cities, but don't be surprised if you face a little discrimination here and there.

Life / Why do a lot of Polish people stare and why is good personal hygeine shunned? [108]

I think hygeine in poland has greatly improved. Back in the late 90's i recall that the smell of body odour was very common in public, but in the past ten years poles have started to take care of themselves more. I think all young people's hygeine is ok, but the baby boomer generation could still use some improvement.

Love / THE TYPICAL POLISH WOMAN? [148]

i definitely disagree wyspi. (how arr you doing?) western women b.tch and moan only a fraction of what polkas do. b.tching and complaining is in the polish psyche and not western.

I agree. Sometimes i wonder where these brits found the courage to marry polish women. Boy are they in for a surprise.

Love / Polish men (guys) - foreign women (girls)? [21]

Have you never heard of the saying 'opposites attract'?

Statistically speaking couples who have more in common with one another have more successful relationships than 'opposite couples.'

But I do think Polish female and non-Polish male is more common.

Yes, much more more common. From what i hear, it seems like single polish guys in the UK have a hard time.

News / Eye on Poland: Country at the crossroads Oct 6-10 [4]

More programming regarding Poland on CNN International.

The New Poland: A country transformed

(CNN) -- It has been nearly 20 years since Poland's Solidarity movement defeated the Communist Party in an historic election that prompted the fall of communism across central and eastern Europe.

CNN International marks this significant anniversary with "The New Poland," a week of programming examining the transformation of Poland from 1989 to where it sits today on the world stage.

USA, Canada / Work ethics in Poland vs US [66]

a degree or skills don't guarantee a job here either. it helps but that's it.

True, luck and/or entrepreneurialship (among other things) can be at least as equally important. But i'm talking about the poles described by the 1st two posters of this thread. They clearly don't have these 2 traits nor do they have any skills/education and are forced to work in packaging/assembly (and complain).

Life / Polish men in shorts with sandals and socks.. [63]

I agree socks and sandals are bad combo.

What about shorts, shoes and long socks pulled up like golfers?? This sticks out more, IMO.

Poles need to be introduced to ankle socks.

USA, Canada / Work ethics in Poland vs US [66]

I guess I do the same when in Europe, gotta convert all those kilometers and centimeters and celciuses into normal measures. :)

I had to learn and use both the imperial & metric systems at school. Metric is much simpler for conversions- you just have to move the decimal point ie: 1m = 100cm, 1L=1000ml. With the imperial system you have 1 gal = 128 ounces or smth, water freezes at 32 degrees, 1mile=1760 yards or 5280 feet etc.. - wtf? Unfortunately, canada hasn't completely shed the imperial system.

k.i.s.s. - keep it simple stupid

USA, Canada / Work ethics in Poland vs US [66]

Again with the generalisations.

Poles that come to America are shocked that they have to work. They imagined money with little work, but the reality is different.
Those that were used to the Polish way of working find it hard to adjust to actually work 10-12 hours a day without a cigarette break every 5 minutes.

They have to work 10-12 hours because most of them have ******, dead end jobs!! I made a post regarding this in another thread once but i'll repeat myself anyway.

Many (not all i know) come to the usa with no education/skills and they expect to get a decent job! There are plenty of 9-5 jobs in the US, there is no reason to have to work 10-12 miserable hours/day at a meat packaging plant, for instance.

Sometimes you have to invest (education/skills) in order to get something in return. They think the "amerykanie" will give them high paying, prestigious jobs "w biurze przy komputerze" and they will live happily ever after. WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life / Women in Poland dyeing hair red [30]

I thought dyeing hair black was more popular. IMO this colour does fit most girls - especially the pasty white ones. Too much of a contrast.

Life / Would you intervene in a mugging on a street in Poland? [16]

I would intervene if there were no weapons involved.
On 2 occasions people tried to mug me: once in wroclaw and the other time in prague, cz. Both times i refused to give up my wallet and after some pushing around they gave up.

Polish priest publishes sex guide

A Polish Catholic priest has published a book which provides married couples with a theological and practical guide to spicing up their sex lives.

I am curious as to how helpful this book could be to a couple experiencing problems in the bedroom. It is after all written by a celibate man.

Any idea what percentage of private english language schools in Poland (especially large cities) are owned by Poles? By Brits? By Americans?
