UK, Ireland / ARE YOUNG BRITS LESS INTELLIGENT THAN POLES? [56]

The fact remains that educated Poles come to the UK to do 'lesser' jobs but still get paid more than in Poland. U don't reward educational achievement so highly in Poland, where's the intelligence in that?

Life / Help with getting a NIP....nightmare! [16]

Ur company should be helping u 2 get that. U r obviously a foreigner and should be assisted in such matters. I got my NIP last year. U should ask ur company to get the documentation and guide u through the process.

History / Are Germans going to pay for WW2? [180]

Again, the point needs to be made. The Serbian administration, under Slobodan Milosevic, was heavy-handed and downright evil at times. But, that was the government. I'm sure that Serbian people are decent and fair. I prefer not to see divisions between the Balkan states. I'd like to meet Croats and Serbs. Their respective languages sound nice and I'm sure there'd be plenty to discuss with them.

News / France to lift job restrictions on Poles [84]

I'm willing to accept that we have a suckle on the proverbial teet from time to time but let's keep stereotypes as just that.

Life / Asian and Polish culture - how do they compare? [24]

What do u mean by Asian culture? Let's take China and Japan. They have quite different cultures u know.

I lived in Japan for 2 years and have lived in Poland for almost 4. Please ask me more specific questions.

He wasn't offensive and broke no rules. The thread title has even been amended. Surely the fault lies with the posters rather than with him. Nobody had to reply. The issue is touchy and taboo for some, hence the responses.

What if Osioł had posted sth like this, nobody would have batted an eyelid.

Life / Polish Jazz / Jazz nad Odra festival in Poland [28]

I'd second that. There's a thriving scene here in Gliwice. A resident native speaker, Mr Bruce McCallum, often joins in with his harmonica. He's a dab hand at it. The Poles certainly produce musicians of the highest calibre.

News / France to lift job restrictions on Poles [84]

Ah, but he doesn't request them Osioł. They are given as of right. In Scotland, we have a different education system. Our fees are paid through the SAAS, or were in my day, plus we may get a grant/bursary over and above that. Scotland can be pricey just like England so I don't blame noimmi one bit for taking that which is entitled to him.

Law / Poland: the most attractive European country for future investors [55]

Or have learned to live on less, which is no bad thing. There is still materialism here though, it's the instinct of some to be so. Those who look for fast cash will get their come-uppance tho.

Foreign investment is welcome here. U look at cities that have attracted mass investment from outwith and see how beautiful they are. Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai are 2 such examples. Warsaw is a bit late for that but it will benefit in other ways.

What r u talking about? Brits are winners in globalisation? I was merely raising the point made by PolskiŻolnierz when he got angry that foreigners creamed the profits, leaving educated Poles to fight for the scraps.

I hardly see that as fair but that's life. U feelin me now?

Life / Shattered dreams. Poland is more expensive to live than the UK. [23]

Plus and even Tesco are reasonably priced. Poland is nice and cheap overall. Fruit and veg are usually cheap although I have seen weird fluctuations, e.g cauliflower prices.

The fact remains that, in the main, 425zł will take u much further than 100 pounds.

Glasgow is a nice city to be in. The people have such passion and there is a good atmos overall. I'd happily live there.
