Torun was part of the Kingdom of Poland the year he was born. Im not a history begginer either. I have read German History, Russian History and Polish history.

If you think where Poland is has always been German you do not understand what you have read. I have an interest in History not any nation, I read history with an open mind.

Nobles changing the king they follow does not change what language the peasents spoke.

I'm not going to bother posting more on this thread. You seem to "Want" Poland to be responsible for something when they were not.

The forced expulsions were brought about by the Invasion of Poland in the first place.

If you want to go back further, Germany invaded Poland to get back land given away at the end of WW1. Who was the aggressor in WW1. Who divided Poland up for 200 years?

Reading about her I can see why the Poles want to block what she is doing.

The Red Army wanted the Germans out. Read about the Yalta Agreement. The East was Stalin's big plan for a buffer between Germany and Russia.

As I said earlier the "Expelling" of Germans, from places like Brenslau/wroclaw and replacing them with Poles from Lwow, was agreed my the 3 main Allied Leaders at the Yalta Conference. The Germans did not agree to anything, they were forced to accept.

Churchill trusted Stalin (fool) and Roosevelt wanted the Stalin to help fight Japan.

They both thought they could talk Stalin round by the end of the War in Germany. As you can see they failed. Poland has always counted in Europe but they stupidly left it to the Soviets at the end of WW2.

I don't think Poland had much to do with the expelling of Germans. This was stipulated by Stalin at the Yalta Conference in 1945.

The russians would have the east of the ammended Curzon line and Poland would get the part of Germany up to the river Oder.

Uk said no but the USA said ok.

Poland had a puppet Red Army Government under Beruit at the time and the Government in Exile were not allowed at the conference.

No, I'm not Polish

No I don't live in Poland because I have a job that keeps me away but I am in Poland every weekend and every holiday.

My Polish girlfriend gets angry if I try and pay for everything, she does not want to be kept by me, she wants to look after herself too sometimes.

In England I was brought up to pay everything when I go out with a girl but the world has moved on. Girls want equality and to know they can look after themselves without a man doing everything for them.

I have had girlfriends from a few different countries and all of them liked to be treated equal.

I might not have been clear, always offer to pay but when they say no, let them pay for their part. Just dont pay everytime.

If they want you to pay everytime, in my experience, they are gold diggers.

Paying everything for her is not being a Gentleman, that's just crazy. Girls don't want to depend upon a man all the time. Its nice to do all the things you say but not all the time, it loses its appeal if its not done spontainiously.

Being a Gentleman is about treating her as an equal and being there for her when she needs you.

The reality of war for the soldier is 95% boredom and 5% being scared. The worst part is when you return to normal life.

True, war is bad but you learn to laugh at what is happening around you.

Conscription is not a good idea, you don't want people who are forced on the battlefield.

From what I have heard, the Polish Army is doing well on operations.

Its not Law in Germany to have winter tyres but.....

If you have an accident with summer tyres and it could have been avoided if you had winter tyres, you will be held liable for the accident and your insurance will be invalid.

There was heavy snow around Berlin February this year and winter tyres would have been handy. I now have winter tyres and snow chains :)
