Feedback / Text that is unsuccessfully posted is too easily lost. [54]

I know what u mean. I've had that but it's not only here. I did it on Hotmail today. I wrote an e-mail to be proud of in Polish and my connection screwed up and I lost it.

U r not alone on this one Osioł

News / Poland Needs to Shape up [43]

Oh, u got me wrong. I wasn't advocating a rejection of Christianity at all. I was merely saying that, on a social level, it is not NECESSARY. I've done without it but if others want to follow its dictates, fine, that's their perogative.

That's what we WANT, ok. That's what we need? How exactly? Who really NEEDS religion to get by in life? Fine, I'm all for people going to church if they believe that it helps them but it is not strictly necessary. Ur life doesn't depend on it

News / Walesa excluded from Polish national gala [38]

No, they don't Crow. Wałęsa may have gotten embroiled in some shady stuff but that was the way of those times. It was very hard to resist certain temptations and even threats, many succumbed.

People just like to point fingers and criticise. They don't know the full story half the time.

It just means that u can't feel the vibration from ur larynx. F is almost a whispered letter

It's still a V, say it to urself many times and u will hear that it's a V

Demp-KOf-ski sounds a bit off. Vvvvvvv is different from ffffffff. V has a vibrato resonance, f is lighter

U r right to say that the stressed part is KO but wrong to say that it's an f sound, it lies somewhere between an f and a v but is not a pure f. In fact, it's more v if anything. No offence, but many Poles don't feel a V and F difference as I do. I teach it and see that there isn't as clear a distinction in their diction as there is in mine. This rings true for many other consonant pairs.

Life / Religions in Poland. [64]

Sean BM is absolutely right. Buddhism is a philosophy, not a religion as such

News / Polish Japanese relations (history and present time) [90]

I can tell you that Poland is viewed favourably by Japan. Whenever I had a class there on a European country they'd like to visit, Poland was high on the list.

Porando ha kirei dayo ne! Porando ni ikitai yo. Porando ha inshoteki/omoshiroi no bunpou ga aru yo

I often heard the Japanese students pay such compliments. Cos dobrego, na prawda.

News / Lithuania, Poland Leaders Warn EU Against Russia Talks [33]

I agree BB. Kaczyński is a man hellbent on teaching Russia a lesson. It was horrible to see such high-level politicians stand up and portray Russia as the aggressor. How sad!! He should hang his head in shame.

History / German POWs after WW2 - did the allies commit mass murder? [228]

How do soldiers in Iraq protect ur people in America? U still haven't answered this.

Well, I qualified it without doing a U-turn, I explained all to shopgirl. I was thinking of those who torched villages, killed kids and dropped napalm.

U r the horse, oh dupiata one

News / Is it time to tighten gun laws in Poland? [146]

But they were all acting in self defence, hairball. Didn't u know? ;)

The kids were ganging up on him. Nah, I shouldn't even joke, this is no laughing matter. Dunblane was a major tragedy in Scotland. It was a catastrophe for a country which isn't that accustomed to such incidents. One of the students on my first course was from there and she had to take time off. When she returned, she was still shaken and a changed person. Death affects us that way, not just a statistic posted on a government chart.
