Genealogy / Looking for Malgorzata Musial, Jedrzejow [22]

There's a kinder garden by Mieszka 1 (Mieszko street I), but it seems there's no school by Mieszka street. So I assume Mieszka 5 is an apartment building.

Genealogy / Looking for Malgorzata Musial, Jedrzejow [22]

It could be both, but it seems it's a home address. Here is a forum related to Jedrzejow only - forum.jedrzejow.pl/viewforum.php?f=17; you may ask there (it's in Polish though).

Study / Study in Poland and simultaneously a part time job for a foreigner from India [2]

Yes, you surely can work even full-time and study part-time. Part-time students usually study twice a month over the weekend (or 2-3 days a week in the evenings). You can choose between a private and public universities; it's usually cheaper to study in a public school, but not always.

It shouldn't be too difficult to find a job in a big city - but you'd better work on your English and Polish to have better chances. Living in Poland is not cheap so unless you have a good job and make at least 3,000-4,000 Zlotych a month, you won't be a very happy student overall (financially-wise).

Travel / The best holiday destination in Poland? [34]

In a month you could see the whole Poland. If you're into city life, I'd suggest from South to North: Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan, Warsaw, Gdansk.

Work / Real average gross wage and salary in Poland vs Real Estate Situation [11]

Yep, but the problem is all the best properties have already been taken. Ukraine isn't very different from Russia in the real estate area. If someone wants to take a chance, he could try Belarus (and wait 10-15 years until their system changes). Then the profits would be in hundreds of % for the first couple of years.

Travel / Polish Airports and Air industry are pathetic [32]

Yes, with all due respect, I think G is missing the point. Polish airports are based in POLAND and whatever improvements you do will stay in Poland and will be enjoyed by the Polish people mostly (who travel a lot too).

It's like you said "I won't clean my backyard this month because a German tourist stays for a month at my neighbour's house - and I don't want him to enjoy a nice view."

Travel / Polish Airports and Air industry are pathetic [32]

I agree - it's a shame of Poland. In Krakow you have to stay in a line of 200 meters sometimes (and some people have to stay in line outdoors - in rain, frost) as there's not enough place inside.

Law / Bank interest rates and deposits in Poland [14]

70% is not a bad return

I think it's a great annual return. But you still have to pay tax on that.

Shares in food companies can only go up.

Organic for sure.

Law / Bank interest rates and deposits in Poland [14]

40-70% - if anything, it sounds like a scam scheme (unless it's a short term loan, but not annual).. If that was true, the foreign ivestors would flock to Poland ;).

Love / Do Polish Women Date American Men? [46]

Do Polish Women Date American Men?

Surely they do. Whenever I and my Polish wife meet an American, after they find out we are Polish, their reply is "Oh, I date/used to date a Polish girl too!". So it's very common, at least in Chicago, USA.

News / EU or America - which country is better to work now? [56]

A lot of americans are coming to the EU now looking for jobs because they have a massive problem with illegal immigrants from Mexico.

That's nonsense. Mexicans take menial jobs mostly - like working 16 hrs a day on farms in California (100 degrees) or doing maintinance/gardening jobs for $6-8 an hour. I don't see how Americans would take such jobs.

Travel / So.. I'm Leaving for a trip to Poland for 6 weeks. [9]

In Poland people don't operate with "East/West/North/South" words; Poland is too small comared to the US. The Eeastern side is less urbanized than the West/Center of Poland. Do you mean Kielce, Rzeszow, or Bialystok area?

Work / 3000 PLN netto this a good pay [11]

I think 3000 PLN netto is very good in Poland (especially you don't have to pay rent). If I were you, I'd stay in a smaller city (up to 100K people) and enjoy life there; you'll spend more in a big city like Warsaw, Krakow, etc.

Law / Considering Buying a Polish Business [8]

Well, without a sound business plan it might be hard to persuade banks to get you a loan (unless you want to risk and take high-percentage loan). Without 50% your own financing I wouldn't risk it. Also, most old Polish businesses aren't very modern so you may want to be sure whatever they manufacture will find a buyer in the next several years, at least.

Law / Considering Buying a Polish Business [8]

I would suggest to have most (if not all) the funds when you enter Poland; otherwise it may take you a lot of time and stress to get approved. What kind of business niche do you have in mind? Or it could be any kind of business - provided it's well-established?

News / Some Poles burning American flag [299]

I understand, some people or even many people don't like Bush but to burn the US flag, that's bull..........

Name a country in which there were no US or whatever country flags burnt. Just because there are some radical people in Poland who did that doesn't mean all Poles burn American flags. Same with hooligans - if some British hools attacked black people, a normal person would not write "British people attacking black people", would it?

Please don't create anotyer hype/stereotype. The topic of this thread should be: "A few Poles burnt American flag".

I think that paying too much attention to him makes him appear more important that he really is in the PF scope of things.

Agree too.

USA, Canada / Gas prices in America [127]

Some people say that in the US gas prices are still "cheap" compared to Europe.

That may relatively be true - but how many miles on average an European person does compared to a person from the US? I think people from Europe do a lot less miles annually compared to those from the US or Canada.
