USA, Canada / Shootings in America; over 30 people shot [52]

i should qualify insurance, by that i mean, some places are more afraid of insurance that they are not tight enough on gun control rather just to 'insure' itself from lack of gun control which is tragic

wtf is happening to this world?

insurance. people not taking responsibilty. self medication. no discipline as children. no boundries. no respect/fear of authority consequences. dissillusions from religion and spirituality. anger management (or lack off)

I do agree with guns dont kill people, people kill people (the guns just make it easier)
(this is NOT condoning what happened OR gun use - just the fact that it is people who point and shot them)

The availability of guns should ONLY be in the hands of the armed forces and armed response units of the civil wings. Though, im nearly certain, we'd just find a more 'creative' means of killing one another.

News / Abortion - how is the Polish government going to deal with this issue? [273]

so I do blame the parents for not
discussing enough.

i can agree to this, some parents just wont discuss it.

dont forget the boy involved

your right here!!

who must
have decided along with this girl this was their only options.

not always true, it does happen that the girl takes it all upon herself to hide it from the world.
it is possible and has happened that boys/men never hear about it (in certain circumstance)
like those celebraties who get women turning up saying this child they never knew about is theres

or perhaps he wasnt taught to be more abstinant

you can teach men this, trouble is the hormones really do override the male brain at this age.
a minority sure, can be abstainant but all can be educated to 'precaution' and that they can and should come ask for help (that applies to both gender of course)

I would think both need some heavy education on what /how/ who, and help that
they should seek if pregnancy should occur. but mostly to just not have sex at all
and show them outcomes like these and what could happen in the long run by legal
matters..

yep! :) and parents then can decide to allow the child attend the lesson or not, then the responsibilty falls to them

News / Abortion - how is the Polish government going to deal with this issue? [273]

the responsibilites of becoming an adult.

sex education is important and a political minefield which is why its SOOO bad in nearly every country. However, the issue of sex education cannot prevent rape.

and how Poland deals with abortion, sex education is not the main area to focus in on (but an area nonetheless)

the article crow posted too, shows that sex education in secondary schools is optional, that parents can keep there children out or in of it, which i think is much fairer than no sex education at all.

Language / Example differences between Polish and English [30]

Example: 1. I'm going to the other room. Call me when dinner is ready.

you can still use 'call-me' to mean phone

ill see you later, call me.

you dont need to say 'give me a call' as you also point out

i think the key, is placement in the sentance and the context it is in (like many polish words also)

Life / Is it legal in Poland to force a girl to sleep in your bed? [10]

Kevrlet.

you've been given sound advice.

1. its not acceptable to confine and rape women anywhere.

1a. If it is confinement & rape. you do nothing. let the police deal with it or you will end up in trouble.

2. good friend and ex-boyfriend

2a. Most likely the answer 'lies' here. Maybe she wanted it at the time and regrets it now and just doesnt want to talk about it and wants to be with you but trying to make here mistake look like she had no choice.

Either way - its her you need to talk to you frankly. Maybe even ASK the ex what happened.
do not get violent as it will be you and no one else who will be in trouble

Is there an idea of separation of Church and State in Europe?

oh yes! church and state MUST remain seperate entities! it is evident in the past that the church cannot wield power (holy wars etc)

Let the church focus on spiritual matters and not conquest.

Polish President Loses Loyalty Vote As Poland's Government Splits - Speaker Dismissed

interesting story. ive no problem with parliment failing out like this but i stand by the statement the church has no place in the parliment.

Life / what is the best bank to open an acount in Poland [12]

"the best bank" or a "good bank"?

current account interest rates.
low fees for using the account (or no fees as irish banks have started - terms & conditions of course)

Internet banking is another - do they offer it? is it a good service etc

UK, Ireland / We welcome Polish people to Britain! [224]

BUUUUUURNNNN :) schmack on target!!! well said!

no one 100% of anything these days. and were better for it! (inbreeding is unhealthy :) introducing as much genetic diversity is healthy for the human genome - as its base instruction is to take the best data)

UK, Ireland / We welcome Polish people to Britain! [224]

can you say 'minority' :)

this is small minded view held by dull and ignorant people who cannot appreciate the advantages of the EU.

A healthier economy, labour force on demand, intergrated we are stronger,

Racism, and this is racism we're talking about, is not the answer

Real Estate / Foreigners: Please don't buy Polish Land! [823]

So ? It doesn't make my post incorrect.

it does if you are blaming them for what is happening to the prices. they are the minority and it is typical in all countries to blame foreigners for your own situation.

are you blaming them for the situation?

if yes, then it makes your post incorrect
if no, then it is an addition to your post

History / Poland - Looking back to 1990. [18]

I've got no doubts whatsoever he'll say yes to the Constitution.

me neither, it would be daft to want to join the EU and NOT want it ( the UK has that old empire mentality at present but it will pass :))

Take care!

Love / Can anyone help with my brokenheart???? [67]

I feel you are too insecure. you seek to be told your loved rather than just felt loved.
You want her to have eyes only for you and have no fun or smiles with other people (espiecally men). This leads to controlling and this is bad.

You are becoming paranoid and jealous. This would drive you crazy and drive her away. (becoming a self fullfilling prophecy)
If you think she doesn't love you, you cannot force her to love you. You cannot 'pester' her to say she loves you.
If you REALLY loved her, you wouldnt be so self centred about it and would love the fact she is able to have fun. she would appreciate this more.

The solutions include, lightening up the reigns of control. Stop being paranoid and pestering her about her every movement. She may not love you and she may leave - but the way you are behaving will speed that up! No women likes to be controlled by paranoia! (some women like bad boys but all hate whiners!) - (men hate women who whine too ladies :) - less its ahem, nuff said)

hope this helps

History / Poland - Looking back to 1990. [18]

If only our political situation, re relations with Russia and Germany got clarified, but it's not up to us, largely.

i think the EU constitution will make this much clearer Puzzler :)

thenews.pl/archives/358-Poland-ready-to-work-on-text-of-EU-constitutio n.html

Poland is ready to work on the text of the future EU constitution – said Poland’s president Lech Kaczynski during an informal meeting of the presidents of eight EU countries in the Latvian capital Riga.

At the same time Polish President Lech Kaczynski remarked that the text needs some changes.

Presidents from Austria, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland and Portugal took part in an informal summit in Riga hosted by Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga.

It was the fourth time that the leaders of the eight countries have gathered to debate topics of European importance.

The talks focused the future of the enlarged European Union and challenges connected with it. In the first debating session the presidents discussed the future of the EU's stalled Constitutional Treaty, EU integration and European competitiveness in a globalized world.

Speaking at a press conference in Riga, President Kaczynski also said that Ukraine could aspire to EU membership in 10 years.

He reiterated that Poland supports the EU and NATO bid of Ukraine, which is now in the middle of an internal political crisis.

News / The Impact of Poland joining the EU [64]

So even if we're in the EU we're still not West?

i mean west in geographical terms only, to england and ireland. no other implications are being made here.

Europe needs to be put in order first, and European people cared for before others.

true, the constitution is a big step here.

I don't believe in so-called global economy; I think it's just a bunch of cunning American propaganda. The earth resources are too limited, and so we must compete for them, especially with entities that use masses of them, such as America and China.

i feel that its not something within our lifetime and canot see it in a long time but i do believe it will happen in the distant future.

at least for a long time, until our European house gets put in order.

I agree. We should have agreed the constitution before expanding even to poland but it is no harm. it is an advantage for poland to have a say in it now :)

but we must get it sorted now before any further accessions made.

PL is in the childhood phase - would you agree??

Nope. id say Poland is one of europes oldest cultures there is. But that when the EU was working together in growing economies, Poland was unable to do so due to communism and russsia, then the priority was the Polish Solidarity movement and now they are in the EU and it will only be 10-15years before Polands economey is as strong as any major EU player

News / The Impact of Poland joining the EU [64]

I think EU is not that bad for our economy. Ofcourse if there comes a next best thing (which will come as the world progress), I will vote Poland to join that group!... for the time being, EU is ok.

yes, but naturally such a group would stem form the UN style size org or learning from the EU's footsteps. It was the EU ad nothing else that has done more for uniting the people on the continent. Of course when all European countries are in, the Union would HAVE to change as it would begin to accept middle east, africian, asian nations at first.

so this new group your talking about, all eu countires would be there. poland is not a seperate entity on its own. its apart of a union. and like any other union, they do what is best for everyone. but yes of course that includes us all joining a new group that is better for us all.
