I think Polish people are concerned that if they take a DNA test it will reveal something other than Polish. But my own test matched me up with Northern Poland and Belorussians.

Broken1, I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. That's so sad. I think you should just let yourself feel the pain because that's the only way you're going to feel better. You can't just make yourself forget someone. It takes time.

Unfortunately polish cuisine is still recovering from the times of communism, where people ate what was basically available.

Do they eat road kill there like they do in some parts of the US? :) That's when a car hits an animal and it dies on the road.

well, I'm flying out to Poland on Tuesday for Easter, having heard my story so far, what would you advise if the ex wants to meet me while I'm there.

Whatever you decide to do, I don't think the relationship can be the same as it was before. If you were to get back together with her, the way she treated you is going to bother you and get between the two of you. She already ruined it.

That's what I'm interested in knowing. I wonder if anyone has had a postive experience with this.

And why do you need this information? You know, this could show variety of results, especialy in this part of Europe. I am part german myself, but I am 100% a Pole.

I suppose people would not want to admit it if they got results that were from an entirely different part of the world. :)

What does it mean? Now I am curious too.

I've read of people finding out that their DNA is African or just something they never imagined and they are very upset about it. I wonder if anyone has taken a test like that and their results have matched their ancestry.

needless to say I was heartbroken & confused & I'm just wondering is this a normal way to end a relationship in Poland? or is it just her way?

I've seen men complain about this same exact thing many times before on this forum. Apparently, it's not uncommon for Polish women to behave this way. I guess in other cultures, people explain why they're leaving you.

Yes, I noticed it before but the date on that one was 4 days before she wrote about this problem. In her new message she said he had hit her "the other night", which means it probably happened after she thought he was such a nice guy.

Ask yourself this: if you had been a 6 foot, muscle bound police officer with a gun in hand, would he have hit you? I don't think so. He would have controlled himself. Why did he do this to you, then? Because he can. What's to stop him from doing it again? I'm just trying to make a point.

In that case, just ask her: "how do you feel about me?"
that way you can still have a friendship if she doesn't say what you're hoping for.

Women are just as unsure as men are about things. If you're not sure about things, she's probably not sure, either. You would just have to tell her that you're interested in being more than a friend.

If you don't tell her how you feel, she won't know. Telling her in the past doesn't count. I think you should just tell her if you really like her. But that's if you're willing to risk losing the friendship. Once you become more than friends, it's hard to go back. That's just my opinion.

when a woman says you're sweet and that you're a good friend, it's not a good sign. Sorry to say that but it's true. I just think these women are hurting you and you deserve to find someone who knows without a doubt that you're the one. I think there's someone else out there who is better for you.
