I have to say that was really interesting to me, my mother is dark skinned and dark brown eyes (obviously dark hair or was when she was younger) her grand father was jewish - he was adopted around the late 19th century (circa. 1875) but only used his own name when he joined the army to fight (he used his birth name - just to clarify - the name he had before he was adopted) Bachon, any ideas on the origin of this name.

Im trying to be objective here, if this guy doesnt have a good education and the only jobs he can get are manual labouring jobs he off his ass and going out to earn a living, (there are lots that dont in this country so my heart goes out to him) - and then his company decide that their is a cheaper labour pool to tap into, yes its unfair, but lets not blame the Polish, employers are doing the dirty...what the solution is I have no idea, but I am aware of this happening.
And CP you are soooo right in your 3rd paragraph, jeez they showed a programme on and this family were given a car because they had so many children, they thought it would be easier for them than using public transport....welcome to good old britain :)

there were 5 of his collegues/friends at the table so we did not really talk a lot...

As for London - a mate of mine moved there and he commanded a salary of £55K in your profession
Thats actually quite funny because we have masses of southeners moving to my city because the salaries are good and the standard of living it better = more for you money in a great city :)

Well, I use a cycle that fits what im washing bedding on a 60 degree and towels on a 95 degree both of those take over an hour 35 or 40 degree take about 40 minutes...but there are quick ones that dont (as far as im concerned) wash the clothes properly.. and then their a wool washes and delicates ect...I had no idea that washing machines in the uk were so different to those in the us
