News / Black Immigrant living in Poland infects dozens of women with HIV [174]

whatever has been built on destruction will head for its own destruction, no matter who the builders are..

Very true statement!!!!

Negroes are especially prone to having AIDS due to their animalistic inability to control their sexual desires.

Bwahahaha......you have just described the male gender! You really shouldn't generalize because it truly causes you to look foolish and somewhat ignorant!

History / Memories of the Polish communist era [115]

Some of the Polish elderly people I have spoken to describe it as being like an onion - with good layers and bad layers.

Don't mean to jump into your questions about communism directed towards our Polish friends, but I think every political entity has its good and bad layers....that being said, I also would like to hear the viewpoints of those who have lived through communist era.....it's alway good to read a different viewpoint, I think. :)

the BBC commission nature documentaries, drama and impartial news reporting.

We have "Public Television" but it is supported by donations.....we are not required to "pay" for it.

Work / How hard is it for an American in Poland? I'm computer networking IT / salary [12]

I'm sure you can count at it.....as with any country, border control is going to be a stickler....I live in the US and coming back from Canada one time, I was given the third degree (I was staying in Windsor but transitting to a hockey game across the river). Granted, it was just after 9-11, but I was freaked out.....anytime you enter into a country, customs will be there to check everything out.....especially in this day and age!

Love / My Polish girlfriend misses home...how can I help? [17]

If she is really interested with you that should be helpful. If she is not .... You should give up her and trying live without your princess. I know that is hard but this is reality, maybe now you are not a of cap of tea for her any more.

Is there some reason you think she is not interested in Sonicsoul? Based on what he wrote, I don't see any signs of disinterest on her part towards him......just that she misses home....please enlighten us with why you feel this way.

Life / do polish girls get pregnant while in school? [28]

EnemyCommander

Not to get too personal, but at the same time, I guess I will.....why are you interested in whether or not she is pregnant? Not that I expect you to answer me, but did you take advantage of a young girl's lust and think that possibly you got her pregnant......or, are you truly concerned with this girl's welfare? I'm not judging you.....but we need to know the details behind this scenario.....

USA, Canada / Americans who call themselves Polish - how do you feel about that? [112]

Eventually, the ties to the old country get tattered and torn with age. It's not a matter of denying one's roots, but after several generations they become lost in the mists of time.

Kind of my point, RP....we are a young country.....many of us still have family or had someone close (grandparent) who came from "the old country" which is why we associate ourselves with these countries....over time and several generations, I think the heritage of ancestors will be less important for Americans because they won't have firsthand knowledge of the family members that came here.

USA, Canada / How can a polish person get usa work visa? [15]

MND....wuzzup? Don't think at this point it's very easy to get a regular visitors visa, let alone a work visa.....I know she would need someone to sponsor her to come here if it was just to visit......I'd check with the US Dept. Of State and read up on what is needed for a visa....good luck to your friend.....btw, I'll be in Poland in 10 days and cannot wait....woohoo!

USA, Canada / Americans who call themselves Polish - how do you feel about that? [112]

Nationality isn't the same as ethnicity, so they are Polish ethnically, but may be American culturally and in terms of citizenship.

Best answer I have seen....which I think most Americans feel this way.....considering we are a country created by different ethnic backgrounds, and relatively we are a very young country, compared to our European friends......

Do you think that they are kidding themselves that they are Polish?

I don't know any American with Polish Heritage who assumes the role of a Pole that actually was born and raised in Poland....many may practive certain traditions carried over from parents and grandparents, but I don't think they are that delusional......also, I see nothing wrong with someone of Polish heritage, Irish, Italian, German, Scottish, etc....wanting to carrying on old traditions as well as continue and create new ones. :)

News / How Poles truly feel about their situation in Poland and being in EU? [76]

I just want to know how Poles truly feel about their situation in Poland and being a part of the EU......according to someone on this forum (won't mention any names), the Poles living in Poland feel exploited by members of other countries. Is this the true feeling of the majority of Poles on this forum? I know this in noway reflects the status of the whole country, but I am curious to see if our forum "expert" on the feelings of all Poles is reflected by the few members of this forum that actually live there?

News / Polish religious pilgrims crashed coming back from a pilgrimage [62]

I fail to see the benefit in requesting condolences from atheists for Catholic pilgrims.

I don't think it was so much requesting condolences based on a particular faith......it was a call for some human compassion towards other humans.

Instead, it's degenerated and many seem to be arguing on it instead. I find it disrepectful :)

I'm not getting at anyone at all. Just saying, think what you are posting on this thread, that's all :(

Agree with you 100%, LIR.....

News / Polish religious pilgrims crashed coming back from a pilgrimage [62]

Words make no difference if they are unread so who benefits?
I see no difference between a physical rubber-necker and a virtual voyeur of tragedy.

How do you know, Clunkshift, that a family member or a friend of one of the victims will not see these "words". You may choose not to express sympathy because you feel it does nobody any good, but I can tell you from firsthand experience, condolences from family, friends and even strangers does affect the person being consoled.....it might not even be recognized at the time, but those expressions of caring do carry over.....personally, I'd rather say something nice to a complete stranger, or in this case, write something to let another human being know they are not alone in their suffering (we all experience it at sometime in our life), than not say anything at all and risk not having had some positive impact on someone. I like to give back what has been given to me. PEACE!

Travel / How really cheap is in Poland? [37]

Good question! The American dollar is not doing nearly as well as the Euro or British Pound, but I know it is better than the Polish zloty......whilst in London, I know it is going to be very expensive to buy clothes and such, but how about in Poland? Are clothes relatively the same price wise or are they much cheaper in Poland?

USA, Canada / Sending SMS from US to PL [13]

Thankfully I only need to send one!

You could also download skype and send sms to Poland for 6 cents and talk for 24 cents per minute when calling a mobile....believe it's cheaper when calling to a landline.

I disagree with your comments as well. Human nature likes cruelty, blood, war etc.

I disagree with you, but hey....Ilove having you aboard!!!!
