regionpolski 33 | 153 22 Jul 2007 / #1What are the various companies I can rent a car from when on vacation in Poland? I see several options on the internet, but are all reputable? Should I pay ahead, or pay upon arrival? Can I ent with my American drivers license?
littlebeezz 2 | 20 22 Jul 2007 / #2we've just got back from poland and its very expensive hiring a car when you get there. the cheapest we could find was though easycar.com at £207 for 8 days.hope this helps
BubbaWoo 33 | 3,506 22 Jul 2007 / #3there will be international rental comanies at the airport you fly into - book online and be sure to come back and tell us when you have driven in poland which are worse - polish roads or polish drivers...and as a useful tip dont forget its the law to drive with your lights on which supports the widely held belief in poland that its not being able to see the cars coming which causes so many deaths on the roads rather than **** drivers... of course, youll be able to make your own decision once youve driven there...and another useful tip... dont get stressed that it takes so long for cars to move off when the lights to green... drivewrs just do this to avoid all the other cars that went thru red...and another usefull tip... when you are turning right at red traffic lights you are free to go despite the pedestrians crossing the road... its not a problem because they will able to see your car becasue you remembered to put the lights on and will thus be protected from accidents...
BubbaWoo 33 | 3,506 22 Jul 2007 / #5it helps but once you realise you can drive exactly how and where you want becasue everyone else is its actually quite fun...

All the cars are manual transmission, which I rarely drive. With gasoline, a car will run us $1000, or more, for the 13 days I will be in Poland. My driving record is perfect, no accidents in 20 years. However, I rarely drive in a lot of traffic, or big cities.
