"63 Years, 4 Months, and 15 Days since my family's property was stolen by the Poles."
?

ouch, why is it that this did not take place with the ones that were responsible for taking the property? This being Soviet's. After 1989 they come asking the "Forgotten victim's" (Polish) to be reimbursed. Look at the # of non Jewish victim's that lost their country, lives and yet were forgotten in Holocaust funds. Thanks for the site, but this is so hurtful.

Greed has ruined everything. What a catastrophic state of affairs.

Yes We ruined everything....we wanted cheap give-away credit to buy our consumer goodies; new plasma TVs, new cars, bigger homes, more holidays, more bling—just about everything. If we didn't take out the loans in the first place none of this would have happened; nobody was twisting our arms or being tortured into taking out loans. Why blame the way banks were run ....it was we consumers that didn't want to look at the downside consequences of our own personal borrowing? The banks didn't dupe us—we all wanted as much cheap money as we could get, now unfortunately its payback—as it should be. Taxpayers (our) money is now paying for our stupidity not the banks!

Oh, I agree with that too sjam, very much so. It's a mistake on both sides. Look at the case of Ireland. They got swept up in the new-found wealth that being the Celtic Tiger entailed. They got used to living to a certain standard. Little did they know that many factors can alter your true wealth level and even swipe some of it. They paid the price when a downturn in fortunes hit them.

So, I'm not blindly lashing out at banks. The cashflow/money circulation issue has more players than that.
