NEW route Newark - Rzeszow by Poland's LOT

I'm completely stumped as to where one might feed Rzeszow from.

Possibly Lviv, but again, they're not going to risk being stuck in Rzeszów (with all the complications that it brings) when UIA has at least one daily flight from Kyiv, as well as the opportunity of connecting through Istanbul with the huge amount of connections that Turkish Airlines offer. Places such as Kosice already have connecting flights to Warsaw and Vienna, so that's off the cards too.

I also can't imagine anyone risking going from Kraków to Rzeszów by road/train and then flying to New York when there's a multitude of good connections from Kraków to NY via Warsaw, Frankfurt, Zurich, etc.

If the flights will be heavily subsidized I doubt LOT will lose any money and the point of view of the local gov is totally different than that of some English teacher from Poznań as the airport is paying taxes, provide jobs to locals and is one of the factors of the investment attractiveness of the region + the air traffic in Poland will be growing significantly in the future, so ironically subsidizing the flights (and thus the airport) makes more economic sense than allowing the airport to go down.

Regarding the choice of flights... unlike you "expats", I don't pretend I know everything but your past record of talking nonsense countless times, makes me think people behind this concept know better than you do. Let's be honest, your problem is that it's a Polish company that is being subsidized. If that was Ryanair or anything else "western", you would be pissing your pants how cool it is. If they additionally "allowed" some locals to clean their airplanes, iron clothes of staff or any other stupid job for 400 EUR a month, then wow, bow to the mighty "foreign investor". That's your vision of Poland, where billions are spend to subsidize "foreign investors" but God forbid that 1 PLN is spent to help domestic business. Let's put it mildly that majority of actual Poles (not some dudes, who just ended up here by accident) don't share this vision.

Could you link to a source which confirms your claim about paying fees

So you mean the flights not only will be subsidized but LOT also will not have to spend even 1 PLN conducting their operations over there ?

From memory you pay zero tax in Poland.

Which is utter nonsense just like 99% of things your crowd is spreading here.

If the flights will be heavily subsidized

That you use the word 'if' in that sentence shows you're as ignorant about LOT flights as somebody who thinks LOT has its own terminal at Chicago airport. There is no 'if' involved here, the subsidy has been agreed and the paperwork all signed.

Care to show your sources which say the airport is at risk?
If you stopped to think for even a moment (instead of seeing who is posting what and automatically trying to argue with undeniable facts), you might realise that 45 million zloty in subsidies could get a lot more than 40 extra passengers per day. Then again, perhaps you wouldn't.

LOT also will not have to spend even 1 PLN conducting their operations over there ?

You are claiming somebody will pay something, you need to support your claim.

it then becomes the LOT terminal

No, it does not become LOT's terminal, it is the terminal which LOT is told to use. It does not become LOT's own terminal, despite repeated attempts by you and your little friend to claim it does.

LOT does not have its own terminal to service the soon to be restarted Newark - Rzeszow route.
LOT does not have its own terminal with which to service any of the destinations which it flies to or plans to fly to from Rzeszow airport.

LOT does not have its own terminal with which to service any of the destinations which it flies to or plans to fly to from Newark airport.

LOT does not have its own terminals with which to service any of the destinations which it flies to or plans to fly to from any airport.

Is that clear enough for you?

You just want to argue is what you want to do.

I want to see facts posted here, not erroneous opinions and flat-out lies.

While one could make a case for LOT having its own terminal at Chopin airport

Actually, I have the impression that they should have done just that. It would have avoided the favouritism shown towards LOT and allowed them to create a terminal that caters more for the regional jets that LOT uses. It would then avoid the sometimes ridiculous transfer arrangements - I've had several connections where the incoming gate was at the opposite end of the terminal to the connecting flights.

As it stands, Okęcie is a jack of all trades, master of none.

It does not become LOT's own terminal

Didn't say it did, that is something YOU keep saying for the sake of an argument.
I said that when LOT gets delegated to a terminal then that becomes the LOT terminal.
Is that clear enough for you or do you still insist it can only be Your way. lol

You are claiming somebody will pay something

Huh ? There are landing charges, passenger charges and many others per each friggin airplane.

you might realise that 45 million zloty in subsidies could get a lot more than 40 extra passengers per day. Then again, perhaps you wouldn't.

1/3 of US Polonia folks have "busia and jaja" coming from Podkarpacie + there are many US companies there and their number has been growing so I don't see any reason why this connection should be regarded as some nonsense. If you think it is and care about it so much, just report it to the media, CBA, EU Commision, Vatican and let's what's going to happen. Let me doubt that they will share your opinion.

Care to show your sources which say the airport is at risk?

Nearly all airports in Poland are subsidized one way or another. Otherwise they wouldn't exist for too long.

Most of which are heavily subsidised for new routes for a period by airports.

Let me doubt that they will share your opinion.

They might well do, especially if EU funds are being misused.

@delphiadomine

Watching you quabble over a airline terminal is like watching 2 retards fighting over a box if crayons.

Guess what? When I flew from Chicago the plane boarded from terminal 5 and when I returned, same location, Terminal 5

Don't you have anything better to do than troll this fourm everyday?

I remember PełO times in 2015 when they wanted to sell LOT to a foreign company (obvious treason) for few dollars. Lot had a total of ~46 million złoty loss in 2015 when PełO ruled. In 2016 after PiS came to power LOT achieved a 80+ milion profit. In 2017 LOT earned 100 milion (more than that 180-200 milion just from passenger traffic).

PełO almost destroyed us completely and what has not been destroyed they almost sold out.

So glad they die out. They lost another very important councilor in Krakow.

Hope TuSSk will drown along with Schetyna and whole PełO.

They also wanted to sell into foreign hands PKP Intercity for several Euros. PKP Intercity makes a GREAT busines now as well and can afford to modernize Polish trains and infrastructure for 7 billion złoty.
