Cześć

Nazywam się Jade i mieszkam w Anglii. Chciałabym uczyć się po polsku i nie wiem robić... Dlatego jestem tutaj! Bo potrzebuję pomocy. Mam 17 lat. Widzicie, nie mówię dobrze. :( Nie mam nauczyciel.. nie mogę.

Dziękuję bardzo.

Och... kocham lody!

(This was all from my head so it's probably terrible! Corrections please! I've only been self-teaching for a couple months.)

Please try to create a better title next time, other than "Help please" ;)

Przepraszam!

Brilliant? Wow, thanks. I have visited Poland twice and I'm going back in the summer. =) This site is really interesting from what I've seen so far.

Ja też kocham lody

Ah, 'I also love ice cream'. Is that right?

Thanks!

Yep, that's right. You did really well with your first post... There might have been a few small errors, if so hopefully someone better qualified than me will point them out.

Care to try a more adventurous piece of text?

Adventurous? Hmm.. it's the grammar I fail on. I'm terrible at all the cases. I think I'll have a look around the forums some more to and then I'll have a go!

Dzęki!

Polish grammar is really something hard to learn. I found the best way was not to try and understand it, but just to accept it as it is. Explaining English grammar is a piece of cake for me, but Polish is another story. For me, someone new to the language should just learn key phrases ect, then attempt to tackle grammar.

Yeh, at the moment I'm sticking to simple sentences. I am just very inpateint and eager to write more! I'll take it slow though, I am still a beginner and I know it'll be a long time before I can write more complex things. :) Thanks for the advice.

Nazywam się Jade

Mam na imię Kiełbasa...
You will need a new name, Poles will pronounce your name "yaddeh" when they read it.

Cześć!

Też myślę, że lody są świetne!

Piszesz dobrze po polsku. To jest trudny język, ale staramy się.

Polecam "Colloquial Polish: The Complete Course for Beginners" (B. Mazur) i "301 Polish verbs" (K. Janecki).

Powodzenia!

Thankyou so much!

Yeh, I know, when people see it they think it's jadę! I wish there was a Polish equivilant or something similar. Is there?

Też myślę, że lody są świetne!

Hehe, tak! :) Czekoladowy.. mniam mniam.

Dziękuję!

Nazywam się Jade i mieszkam w Anglii. Chciałabym uczyć się języka polskiego / polskiego, ale nie wiem jak to robić( I don't know how to make it. "Nie wiem robić" does not sense). Dlatego jestem tutaj!. Bo / ponieważ potrzebuję pomocy. Mam 17 lat. Widzicie, że nie mówię dobrze.* Nie mam nauczyciela... XXXX( I don't know what you wanted to say here:)

* quite good or even better could be "Sami widzicie, ... "

At all it's quite good. :)

I'm also impressed with your language skills, I'm teaching my english friend polish, and although I am polish I find it really difficult to explain some parts of the polish grammar, hell, I have problems with understanding some of them by myself ; ) It's something you usually learn in ground school and forget, and later you just "feel" how different things should be said.

As previous posters wrote, "nie wiem robić" would translate into "don't know do", and they have given you a good explanation. You can also find a teacher pretty easily, probably you would find lots of eager people in here, or maybe through some language exchange pen palling sites : )

Good luck with your polish!

Thanks Easy_Terran for the corrections. :) I'll remember that! And I meant that I cannot find a teacher in my area, unfortunately.

The nearest ones are in London and it is too far. My partner is Polish, but he isn't a very good teacher, I prefer to learn from other people.

Thanks! :)

Edit: Oh, thankyou Gregrog too! I didn't see that, it's really helpful.

Is there any chance to describe yourself and your partner here ? ( wow, sounds like you're a mature person because you don't use a boyfriend thing but a word - partner :) )

There aren't too many couples on PF when a female choose a Polish stock, thats why I am so interesting with it.

I would not. I think the latest book is dreadful!

It should be nie mam nauczyciela...using the genitive singular case.

Well, we are just like a normal couple! He's fantastic, sweet and funny. His English is absolutely perfect. I wasn't attracted to him because he is Polish, but of course it's great and it's something I've become more interested in. I met him here in England. :)

I like that it's straight forward. Some books treat you like a child or repeating the same things page after page until you feel that you read 10 pages and they all say the same. And Lody seems to learn things fast.
