First of all, you, like most women in our civilization, are not used to being spoken to in this way by men. For the most part, you are accustomed to being flattered or being spoken to nicely, with exceptions being, well, exceptions. You are so used to this that it feels like the norm for you, and you may not realize it's a privilege.

Additionally, there is societal bias or preconceptions regarding women. You know the saying, "What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice and all things nice." In reality, both men and women can be nasty, vicious, selfish, and not nice at all. I'm discussing reality here without sugar-coating it. Hence, it's understandable that you may have a different impression, as in real life, you are not accustomed to hearing this.
