Is that smoke in the 2nd photo a forest fire?

It's Nigel Kennedy (who lives there) playing the violin very fast. Too much smoke already in his other home in Krakow.

Not sure what was burning but no forest fires reported.

Some illegal bonfire.....Germans also love hiking. In our area, unfortunately, there are also unfortunate accidents every year. People arrive at the "rocks" and end up in the hospital or in a coffin.

Germans are proverbial nature lovers.

This is debatable. It is said that German men love their cars more than their women.

Same for us. Narrow paths on steep hills in the northern part of a rainy country are dangerous.

Given that this thread is about things we love, I might post a picture of my living room. The decorators have been doing the whole apartment and are due to finish today. I'm away from home for the rest of the month but have been getting photo updates. It looks lush.

Another problem we face is winding roads and motorcyclists. They love these curves, but unfortunately, accidents occur every few days during the summer, often fatal, as is the case with motorcyclists.

I love getting up to the sound of my songbirds and my rooster crowing.
Then fill and hang all my hummingbird feeders out, feed my chipmunks, feed my dogs and finally myself with a cup of tea while I check my stocks and read the Polish Forums.
The best thread is the Stock Market one where I get under poor Harry's skin and get him just flopping like a fish out of water.
It really makes my day pushing his buttons and reading his meltdowns. Hoot !

I love American justice system and, more specifically, how it's practiced in the Southern states like Florida and Texas.

Harry likes Taco Bell the best however I prefer Boones Long Lake Inn, (Steak), Boat House (European), or Trattoria Stella (upper class)

The smoke from the Canadian wildfires is horrible up here right now so don't plan outdoor activities like the beach or boating.

It wont be until next week so hopefully the Canooks can get their act together, Ay.

No way, they have been burning all summer.
We have had three days in the month of July without smoke.
It is only getting worse with 201 active forest fires burning right now in Canada.
A lot of older people are having serious respiratory problems.

Its making its way down to Chicago as well. The AQI is 126 right now. It makes for interesting sunsets, but smells horrible.

They showed the Mackinaw bridge on the news this morning and you could not see the second tower of it from the Mackinaw side.
