Stock Market Talk and Trading - part 2

Thousands are sorting out their back payments though

I'd say it's more like hundreds of thousands. As they should, given what a cracking deal the UK state pension is.

I just filled in the form and they agreed it.

Why take the chance of awkward questions when you can just submit something which will satisfy them enough to not ask for further info? One of the pieces of evident I submitted was a print out, in Polish, from the KRS website. It was all the same as on the website, but I'm fairly sure it could easily have been altered without them knowing.

six months or more before they process the payments and add them to your records.

From memory I transferred by back payments in March and they were credited in November.

PLEASE STAY ON - TOPIC

Take a look at this stock PolAm as you of anyone might have some insight on it.

With PolAm's help I have excluded OLO.
With Trumps new bill Trump issued executive orders this month to allow mining on federal land.
He has used his emergency authority to allow some older coal-fired power plants set for retirement to keep producing electricity to meet the rising demand amid the growth in data centers, artificial intelligence and electric cars.
King Trump also granted nearly 70 older coal-fired power plants a two-year exemption from federal requirements to reduce emissions of toxic chemicals.
I love Trump leveling the playing field with China and Poland's coal burning power plants.
Trump said solar farms are ugly.
So that eliminates NXT.

Coal and oil stocks will be going up.
My DVN has had a couple of good days since Teflon Trump made these announcements.
Is it time to replace my AMSC and ICC with more DVN ?

Constructive opinions welcome.

Mine didn't ask for proof; I just filled in the form and they agreed it.

While I remember, which IZKE are you in? I've got mine in Goldman Sachs Europejski Spółek Dywidendowych. That's up 10.7% 12M, not a bad result given Don Taco tanking the markets but also a long way from the WIG 30 12M. That said, it is up 44.67% 36M.

I'm tempted by Goldman Sachs Średnich i Małych Spółek, as that's 25.67% 12M and 92.28% 36M. Maybe I should balance between the two?

That said, even 10.7% 12M is a cracking result when 32% of the cash invested is given to my by the Polish taxman! Got to love the IKZE!

I don't know where I read it but I think renewables are getting close to 50 percent of Polish power market.

Don't know if that is in zloty or in watts.

Anyway I was surprised - certainly don't see why it is something America needs to compete with

On the voluntary contributions I did it arse about face - sent a few class 3 contributions and then thought I could sort the paperwork out later (that's generally how I manage my affairs !). Advisor told me that was a bad idea and to wait for a call. I certainly didn't send any proof that I was working - I have plenty of German docs but next to nothing from the US.

I read that renewables capacity has for the first time overtaken coal fired capacity.

It's in GW. Still a bit below 50% (44.1%) but was the first month ever that renewables have accounted for a bigger share than coal (43.7%).

On the voluntary contributions I did it arse about face - sent a few class 3 contributions and then thought I could sort the paperwork out later

If you were working in those years you should have paid class 2 contributions. Those are the cheaper ones, only about £180 a year.

I certainly didn't send any proof that I was working - I have plenty of German docs but next to nothing from the US.

HMRC are being pretty reasonable about proof of working outside the UK. One chap I know in Warsaw (I'd be surprised if you don't also) said that he was working for a few years at a school which closed down ten years ago after the owner died and they were fine with that explanation.

I read that too.
Stop and think however of how many coal mines biden shut down.
Trump will change that by opening them back up and putting the miners back to work.
Buy stock in them now along with Caterpillar heavy equipment.

It doesn't work like that. Once you close a pit, you can't just reopen it.

Something poorhouse Jim understands zero about.

One of the many many things he doesn't understand. Although I suppose we can excuse him wanting to know nothing about a saving scheme where 32% of the money saved is repaid by the taxman.

Once you close a pit, you can't just reopen it.

Well, you can if you invent a time machine and go back in time to before when the mine closed. Of course the reality is that Trump made the same promises about coal when he ran for president in 2016, but then more he closed more coal-fired power plants in just the first two years of his first term than Obama did in his entire first term. But some people are so dumb that they believe the same lies over and over and over again.

It doesn't work like that.

How you two Clowns drift Off - Topic to try and diminish people with your "brilliance" and "bullshit" and expect them to defend themselves is a real Hoot.
You two are like reading the morning comics in the newspaper.

Meanwhile to get back On - Topic
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos sold nearly three million shares worth $665.8 million over two days in July, a regulatory filing Tuesday showed.
The stock sale is part of a plan announced earlier this year that will see Bezos unload up to 25 million shares of Amazon through May 2026.
His new wife must need some spending money.

Something poorhouse Jim understands zero about.

It would be much quicker to list the things that he understands more than zero about.

Obviously percentages won't be on that list, as shown by him claiming that these figures show a fall of 18%: SMI Jul 7 Open 11,969.52 High 11,983.33 Low 11,933.89 Close 11954.54! LOL! What a f*cking moron!

[Edit] I've just had a look and I'm up 2.2% on my biggest holding today. Very nearly back to where it was before Don Taco took office and tanked the markets by being as financially illiterate as Jimmy Rapist is.

And yesterday my DVN was up almost 7%.

LOL! What a f*cking moron, trying to boast about a stock he fantasy bought at 44.25 dropping to 34.59.

In case anybody in addition to jimmy rapist forgot:
I bought 200 shares of DVN to position myself for next year this morning @ $44.25.

How does the Michigan Mystic do it ?

I have never ever seen anybody trying to boast about taking a 25% loss before, let alone boasting about shares he doesn't even own, so how does the Michigan Mystic do it?!

First of all, I wasn't boasting, I was merely showing you how I kick your ass in the stock Market every day to stifle your diminishments.
Second of all that post was from a year ago in August 24' SEE:

https://polishforums.com/off-topic/stock-market-trading-talk-85560/29/#msg1986637

I guess Mystic Hairy Lazar thinks once you buy a stock and it isn't moving that you are not allowed to sell it like I did this one a couple months later with a slight loss.
If Mystic Hairy Lazarus knew anything about stocks he would have known that Trump signed and executive order last week that opens up millions of acres of previously closed public lands to drill on.
Here, read it for yourself.

nytimes.com/2025/07/03/us/politics/trump-executive-order-maba-public-land.html

Michigan Mystic immediately jumped back into DVN Monday when the Market opened at $33.27.
Today it closed down at $34.59 after yesterdays 7% pop.
Keep an eye on this one when those drilling leases start to get bought up.
See the problem here is that YOU Hairy Lazarus never tip any stocks so you can never be wrong. lol
Of course when you have no money to invest in the market I can see why you stay MUM.

Damn you must like the taste of egg on your face Hairy Lazarus.
If you think I am going to tell you when I buy and when I sell my stocks so you can ride my shirttail into making yourself some beer money, you are wrong.
You need to quit TROLLING this thread with your diminishments because you just make an ass out of yourself.
I am beginning to feel sorry for you but not sorry enough to tip you with anymore stocks.

Coinbase is the leader of the above board crypto trading. They charge high fee's, but offer great security. I use this service and wallet. I bought some of this stock when it began to look like Trump would win last September, and get rid of the SEC chair who was wasting time and money suing crypto companies. I believe this company will make you a ton of money in the long run. While the app can be frustrating because it takes so long for them to verify legitimacy of some coins, you can lose out on a lot of early profits on ICO's, its a solid company that will likely end up being the Chase or Wells Fargo of crypto.

Thanks for your input on this stock.
I know nothing about crypto so will need to put some time into this.
I will make an effort to research the pros and cons on it this weekend.
Thanks again PolAm

its a solid company

It's also under SEC investigation and has inadequate cybersecurity. And then there's the problem with all these meme stocks: eventually the bubble bursts.

I very much get the feeling that six months from now jimmy rapist will be trying to boast about his imaginary COIN shares going from 150 to 155 in a single week.

@PolAm
This is what I came up with in my researching so far.
Crypto focused stocks such as Coinbase (Nasdaq: COIN), Circle (Nasdaq: CRCL), and Robinhood (Nasdaq: HOOD) are running away with it right now.
Your Circle, (CRCL) which went public on June 5, is among the hottest stocks in the market right now.
Being that it just went public a lot of people jumped in at the bottom which made it pop.
I missed out on that.
But since I already own HOOD which is on a run too, I am thinking of sitting tight with what I have for right now.

I very much get the feeling that six months from now jimmy rapist will be trying

You worry about Jimmy to much, Christian.
You should be putting more time into your own finances as they don't seem to be doing so swell.
STALKING & TROLLING me every day shows that you are a mental midget with a huge inferiority complex.
You sitting at the end of some bar that offers free wi-fi all day testing 50 beers and trolling is not healthy both mentally and physically which shows.
Maybe go back to that dishwashing job that you use to have.
You seemed much happier doing that then sticking your head back into the bottle and going back into your depression.
Just saying..........

I researched crypto all day and came to the conclusion that I don't touch crypto currencies or stocks.
Never have, and doubt if I ever will.
CRCL was as high as $300 and is now about $200.
Maybe that means it's a bargain, or it could mean that it has reached the halfway point on its way down.
Personally, I'd feel more comfortable going to an Indian casino.
I see way too many good possibilities right now, and have bought a couple of them in the past week to consider something like CRCL.
I wish you the best with it my friend.

Once you understand crypto, you can really make a killing.

Or lose a killing like someone like me that is totally ignorant about how crypto works.
Here is a great crypto to consider, PolAM BMNR.
Four days ago it hit a high of $161 and today closed at $46.
But maybe it will hit $300 tomorrow.
Only the Indians know.
And they're not talking.

CRCL was and remains a gamble for me. Not a stock I think is something to plan retirement around. Just a little gamble. COIN and other companies like it are always under investigation. They wont be shut down though, and paying fines is easy when you are profitable. Its a well run company, and its a trading platform. Crypto is not going away, and COIN wouldnt be listed on the exchange if it was not a legitimate company. All that said, yes, all crypto is a gamble. I look for potential use case scenarios when I buy. I dont see any crypto as an investment, only a short term profit center. Short term being five years or less. FET is another AI based coin, I bought in April at .39 and now its .74. Cheap to get in, and good profit when getting out.

I am a complete crypto sceptic but I don't think Golden Cow will allow it to crash - it's too important for his angry young men voters and it's a scam he actively earns money on

I only have a small amount but for the second year running Bitcoin is my best performing assets

The trading costs are very high though

I am a complete crypto sceptic

The same. So-called 'cryptocurrency' is largely a scam. Rather like a Ponzi scheme.

it's too important for his angry young men voters

Most of them have of course lost money on it.

I only have a small amount but for the second year running Bitcoin is my best performing assets

Same here. I bought some around the time I first started posting here, pre-2010. Only a bit, though it rocketed and I still have some. Most other people who buy it don't make much and for 'cryptocurrencies' other than bitcoin, almost everybody who buys it loses their money.

it's a scam he actively earns money on

That's shameless really and a scandal. In developed countries, a politician would be expected to resign if they were caught pushing fake currencies to make money on.

Don Taco doesn't care about anybody other than Don Taco. He doesn't need those voters anymore and would be entirely willing to deliberately crash the entire crypto market if it made him a few bucks. And once he's gone, everything changes. Just look at the approach the EU is taking with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation.

Most of them have of course lost money on it.

Yep. Crypto appeals most to those who can least afford the losses they inevitably suffer, the kind of idiots who think it's financially better to go every day to a place that offers free Wi-Fi to those who buy 25zl drinks rather than just paying 29zl for more mobile data than they'll use in an entire month.
johnny reb  50 | 8202
11 Jul 2025   #568
a politician would be expected to resign if they were caught pushing fake currencies to make money on.

And then there was Hillary Clinton.
In 1978 and 1979, lawyer and First Lady of Arkansas Hillary Clinton engaged in a series of trades of cattle futures contracts.
Her initial $1,000 investment had generated nearly $100,000 (equivalent to $433,241.63 in 2024), when she stopped trading after ten months.
Then there was Nancy Pelosi $264 million from insider trading.
See how she did it here:

insider-trading.org/the-nancy-pelosi-insider-trading-controversy/

And then there was biden who paid to play.
Allegations against the biden family accuse the president and his son of "coercing" officials with Ukrainian gas giant Burisma into giving them each $5 million as part an elaborate influence-peddling scheme during biden's stint as vice president.
And it got even worse when he became president.

nypost.com/2020/01/18/how-five-members-of-joe-bidens-family-got-rich-through-his-connections/

They all got caught but nothing ever happened to them and they still have all their cheese.

That's shameless really and a scandal. In developed countries,

Tell that to the bum sitting at the end of the bar in Poland sipping on one beer all day just to get free wi-fi.
Lazarus  3 | 416
11 Jul 2025   #569
The trading costs are very high though

Yes, but the actual costs of trading are only taken into consideration by those who trade. Those who have no money to trade with are completely clueless as to the costs of trading, in much the same way as those who have no idea what a beer costs (because they're too poor to go anywhere) and who get free internet from their church think it's better to pay 775zl a month on a beer a day in order to get 'free' Wi-Fi than to just pay 29zl each month for 75GB of mobile data.

I bought BTC gradually when it was under 30K and stopped at one complete coin. I dont trust it for the reason you mentioned, gas fee's are way to high to make it anything more than a risky store of value. I dont see any practical use cases for it or ETH. I see the blockchain as the future, but its at least a decade away. XRP is the only real practical use coin that I can see being accepted as currency in the future. Fast transfers, cheap fee's are the name of the game. You can use it in some countries for payments just like cash. Need to transfer 100K USD, you can do it for next to nothing instead of paying the bank $150 in fee's and having to give an explanation of why you are moving your money.
