I would like to know how feminazis would react to the idea of eliminating women-only chess tournaments. From now on both men and women would be competing as equals. Am I progressive or not...

I suppose, female arm wrestling is out of the question now.....

What about women's Basketball? All the guys that couldn't make the cut in the NBA can change sex and play in the WBA!

Most of the female players ( lezbos) already look like men anyhow. It will be a good challenge:)

Why dont they just create a transgender LBGTQFU league?

As long as there are no transgender sickos I am cool.

They are ruining every sport allowing these freaks to compete against normal girls. They should have their own transweiro leagues.

Clown world.

And, thank the good Lord my fair city was passed over as one of the venues.

Nobody in Chicago wants it either... Its only foreigners that attends these performances and doesn't bring in enough revenue to be worth it.

The return on investment benefits contractors and the venue owner. It's decades of loss for the taxpayer.

Quoting:

NFL Legend Tony Siragusa Dead At 55

A cause of death for the former defensive lineman has not yet been revealed.

Until now and by me. There were two causes. 1. Banging your head is not healthy. And 2:

Siragusa -- a 6-foot-3, 340-pound defensive tackle...

A human heart can support 170 pounds, not 340, moron.

At least he didn't try to compete with the girls in something.
Did you know that the best US women's soccer team lost to a bunch of pimply 15-year-old boys? So much for that non-existing male advantage...

The whole football transfer market is befuddling to me.

Barcelona offered 35 mil Euros to Bayern for Lewandowski. Bayern has rejected offer saying Lew is valued at 50 mil.

Lew is still under contract with Bayern, correct?

If Bayern accepts Barca's offer of, say, 45 mil, does Bayern get the 45 mil? If so, what does Lew get? Does his contract with Bayern simply transfer ownership rights to Barca and Lew continues getting paid according to said contract until it expires?

Is there a free agency in footbal: a player's contract expires and then he's open to sign with any club without consideration owed to previous club? I'd assume there is but is it very common and robust? It seems every report I read about a player moving to another club, that player is always still under a club.

That's the idea.

If so, what does Lew get?

From what I've heard 12 million euro yearly salary (plus bonuses) and undisclosed signing-on fee.

Yes. Most players signed by Ekstraklasa and Pierwsza Liga teams are free transfers but in better leagues it is also quite common. Lewandowski was a free transfer when he came to Bayern - his contract with Dortmund expired prior to the move.

Watching soccer is torture. It explains why both world wars started in Europe. That unfulfilled frustration...90 minutes and it's 0-0. Do they get refunds when this happens?

Thanks. So the transfer fee is basically one club paying the other club the fee to allow the player to move. Interesting set-up. This is virtually unheard of in non-soccer pro sports in US. It's a completely different and foreign approach.

@Novichok

Ahhh... the crusty buzzard speaks. :D

Try watching cricket :)

It's a completely different and foreign approach.

For us the entire idea of drafts seems very odd. And the fact that a team cannot be relegated or promoted from/to NHL, NBA or MLB is also a strange thing to Europeans.

@GefreiterKania

Yeah, you could paint your house, go on a cruise, and discover a new element for the periodic table within the expanse of a match.

cricket

It's s joy.

Very good right now. They've been on a bit of a roll and Bairstow scored a lovely century earlier.

It's one of the joys of summer to watch it from outside the pavilion with a drink in your hand.

... a drink in one hand and Middlemarch in the other. And you would be able to read the book twice before the game finished.

I can imagine the way we do it is weird to you Euros. It's this difference that has made my new found love for soccer so interesting .

As it is now, I'd prefer to see a live pro soccer match than any other pro sport in America. Going to one tonight.

Middlemarch

Overrated. You could probably get through the Alms for Oblivion roman fleuve during a whole test series.

And probably should.

read the book twice before the game finished.

That's the whole point.

To do something else to distract your attention from the drudgery of the game? :D
jon357  73 | 23224

drudgery

Only drudgery if you don't understand it, lack conversational skills to chat with the person next to you, have issues reading, are teetotal or have ADHD or other problems with concentration.

Or a very nice relaxing afternoon watching sport.

Drudgery implies hard work. Watching cricket is very easy

Most times in the EPL, the transfer fee is paid in instalments over several years. The player involved usually gets to pocket 10%, and his agent also gets a percentage. Getting a player on a free transfer might seem a bargain, but his wage demands will be high, unless he is getting near to the end of his career.
