Those here long enough may remember Polonius3. He died last month, aged 84.

He hadn't posted here since his wife died:

The passing of Polonia's "Man in Warsaw" Robert Strybel, Polonia's long-standing Warsaw correspondent, recently passed away in Warsaw. For decades he had kept fellow PolAms informed of current events in Poland while generating interest in all facets of its cultural heritage.

You can still see cookery books for sale in kiosks which he and his wife did. Usually under his late wife's name.

We were nearish neighbours for a while. He was highly intelligent and also very religious.

Polonius3

Was he a right-wing journalist?

He hasn't been posting for a while. Anyway, he was from a different generation and had a different way of thinking.

Yes right wing but more Kaczynski than Nawrocki. He was a decent person with an almost mystical view of Poland. I met him several times IRL but quite some years ago

Was he a right-wing journalist?

Most of what he wrote through choice was about traditions, cookery, etc. The stuff he wrote for Reuters was neutral.

Yes right wing but more Kaczynski than Nawrocki

Yes. Very much about the past being better than the present.

He hasn't been posting for a while

He had challenges in life, not unusual for people in his line of work, and after his wife died a lot of things changed for him as is often the case. He was already old and in poor health.

When I lived near them, I'd sometimes see them out and about through my window.

What about Polonius? The one that dislikes leftists.

I asked many times about Poloniusz. I am still confused if Polonius3 and Poloniusz are the same person. Not the same.

@jon357

I always thought he had something to do with the owners of the forum, was that the case?

@Novi

I think it's two different people. He wrote differently from the Poloniusz which is still around, and had entirely different interests.

No connection that I'm aware of.

Definitely two different people, and the living one is a good six decades younger than the other one.

Yes, there is more than one British owner of this forum and one British repeating mouth piece for them.
Pol3 was living here in Michigan when I last talked with him a few years ago.
Extremely intelligent, polite, and very religious man.
I will definitely miss his grounded posts.
