he alternative would be Hamas/Iranian hegemony

Not necessarily. Don't forget Saudi Arabia and Egypt have a significant voice.

But, where are they?

All over. Jordan, Qatar, Egypt, SA, UAE. I think we have for far too long projected our way of doing things into an area that finds our way ineffective and problematic. We need to look at each place organically and realize that it may not be beneficial for Saudis, for example, to trumpet full blast that the Iranian mullahs must fall. It may be more beneficial and effective for Saudis to be quiet and work behind the scenes.

and the end of the jewish people in the ME!

Did you know that a lot of religious Jews, including influential rabbis, thought the Zionist movement was a dumb idea that shouldn't be done? I think Israel has a right to exist, but it doesn't have to be what Bibi wants it to be.

...but that won't stop Hamas from terrorizing the whole region....not only Jews!

And actually the Saudis have an agreement with Iran, who promised (!) to stop to feed it's Houthis in Yemen (brokered by the Chinese of all people)...so I dunno what can be expected of them...

Maybe...after all it should be only the Jews having the last word about their country.

But thing is that all these last decades with its hundreds of agreements and talks and arrangements failed. Everything else but such an allout war, as Netanjahu orders now, has never stopped terrorists from murdering innocent civilians, there was never a real peace truly wanted. That is also a factor to be acknowledged.

@Bratwurst Boy

I used SA as an example of how a country in the ME may need to behave differently than we expect, ie not scream their disapproval of certain groups, to be more effective in dealing with competing factions.

That deal between Iran and SA, BYW, doesn't seem to be much more than opening dialogue between countries.

Not all Jews are Israelis and not all Israelis are Jews. But, yea, I agree Israelis should decide what they should do for their country. But, they shouldn't decide (or guilt, ie Germany) that other countries should support what they do. Other countries should decide how their own interests are served by supporting or not supporting what Israel does.

So, my question is how does supporting Israel benefit our interest? Hamas was never a real threat to America and I don't believe it was to Germany. So, how does supporting of Israel further interests of western countries?

Hamas was never a real threat to America

....as I already wrote, Hamas is Iran's spawn....and Iran's declared main enemy is the United States of America! They do nothing without your Heimat in their gun sight.

What happens in the whole Middle and Near East is a proxy war like known from the last Cold War....with Israel the only real usable power player for the West....so we better support them or there will be brutal awakening.

Not wanting to "play" is understandable but will cost especially the US alot more later than any support of Israel now!

....its late over there, have to go...'night *waves*

It is very simple to grasp. What with those whys?

Because you are full of shlt...

Before 10/7 there were 2 million Gazans. 50% of them were children.

Since 10/7, 66,000 Gazans have died. 20,000 of them were children. That's 30%.

This proves the exact opposite of your BS claim that Israelis targeted kids.

If they did for genocidal reasons, Gaza kids would comprise at least 60% of the total, or twice as many as the actual deaths.. Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We should recognize the complexity of the Arab world...

We all do..as long as Arabs stay in Arab countries - not in Minnesota, Michigan, or Poland...

We should allow them to have as many mosques here as they allow Catholic churches and Jewish temples in Mecca.

At home, they can be as complex as the universe...

For the benefit of PF foreign posters...This is what the shutdown is all about:

If you watch this short video, you will know more about this subject than 100 million American morons who can only do one thing: fight Trump - even if he found a cure for all cancers...
